This is a very niche stay, perfect for those who wish to re-live "mid-century modern" travel. Other than Wi-Fi and a good cable tv line-up, there were NO modern amenities - - small room, no breakfast, no pool, no refrigerator or microwave, no USB chargers; you get the picture. Nevertheless, our stay* was delightful - very clean, comfortable beds, and decor/atmosphere that was very 50's without being kitschy. We enjoyed it a lot. *was great for one night, but could get old for an extended stay.

The only coffee available, at the check-in desk, was pretty marginal - however, they had hot water and an excellent assortment of teas.

Location, location, location. Liked it is on the original RT66. Across the street was two restaurants - one for dinner & one for breakfast. Next to it was a retro gas station. I thought we were in Radiator Springs from Cars!

It had a strong disinfectant smell upon entering the room. You have to understand this is a retro motel, or you will be surprised by it.

Attractive, perfectly "60's" decorated hotel that takes you back in time in a very fun and comfortable way! Historically authentic touches were a delight! Room and bed were soothing, cozy, and yet spacious. Coffee was perfect. Entire site was very clean and well appointed with nice traveler amenities. Would highly recommend this well-priced hotel and hope to return soon. An added bonus is the "Kix on 66" diner across the street with delicious breakfast and lunch food and very friendly staff with great prices. Try the "66 omlete!" Visit the gift and ranch store a few blocks away on Lake Street (named Tucumcari Ranch Supply). They have lots of clothing, chili, honey, donuts, barbeque, ranch and farm supply items, jewelry, candles, etc. Owners are a lovely couple and very kind.

We were late arriving after a long days drive from Ogden, Utah. The owner called and told us that the lobby was closing, but we could just walk into our room. When we entered the lights were on and an old radio was playing 50's and 60's music, along with old commercials. The room was decorated with 50's and 60's memorabilia and the bed was sooo comfortable! We loved our stay and another bonus was that we were celebrating our 33rd wedding anniversary and guess what, we were in Room 33!! We thought that was an amazing coincidence. Also, loved the interaction with the staff the next morning.

The room didn't have a small fridge to keep our food and drinks cold. The bathroom area was small for two people trying to get ready.

Loved the details to a retro Rte 66 hotel, the radio playing old radio shows & commercials. Bed was comfortable & room quiet. Parking right at door was great. The breakfast of Twinkees & Ding Dongs was un expected surprise.

We could have used a blanket since it was pretty cold. The bathroom area needed a table to use for personal hygiene use.

Cute retro motel straight outta the 60’s! Reminded me of traveling with my parents so many years ago! It has been updated and modernized, but still has a 60’s feel and each room contains photos, artwork, and memorabilia from that era. Very clean rooms, wonderful lounge, and an owner who will tell you all about the motel.

Nothing really. In room coffee wasn’t available but it wasn’t during that era. It is available in the office, along with pastries of the 60’s, which allowed us time to chat with the owner, a truly wonderful experience!

First time staying there and it did not disappoint!!! Super friendly staff- they turned the heater on in our room before our arrival! The cutest little room I’ve ever stayed at; think mid-century modern. They even had an old-timey radio playing 50’s music. They are very pet friendly and have everything you may need to accommodate your fur baby. Very very clean and superb attention to detail. If we’re ever in that area again, we will absolutely be staying at the Roadrunner!!!

This is a nostalgic trip back to the mother road in the 1960's. There are several other motels and restaurants on historic route 66 in Tucumcari that are also participating in the trip down memory lane. The Roadrunner does it very well, while giving you some nice modern touches like a comfortable king size bed and thick soft towels.

Since this really is a refurbished 50's motel, the rooms are small by modern standards, and have limited power handling ability if you carry a lot of electronics with you.

Location was good, located on Route 66. Motel was a retro design. Like what where we stayed on family vacations in the 60s, which is exactly what we wanted.

After a week in a Marriott this is exactly what we were looking for but do not stay here if you need a refrigerator, in room coffee pot, microwave, etc.

I loved everything about the Roadrunner Lodge! It’s on Route 66, and it’s certainly among the nicest, if not THE nicest of the historic lodges on the Mother Road. It’s been lovingly restored to its original 1960s splendor, with authentic midcentury furniture and decor. They even have retro books and objects, and they have music from the 60s playing in your room as you come in. The owners have spared no expense to make sure everything is exemplary: plush towels, hot water with great pressure, comfortable bed and pillows, good coffee in the lobby—even really soft toilet paper! Tucumcari is a great place to stay along the route. Everyone is very friendly there, and there are several good restaurants. In the office, you’ll find wonderfully quirky souvenirs, including original art and keychains like the one you use while there. We had a request while there, and a staff member addressed it right away. I highly recommend this motel. I can’t say enough good things about it!!

There is not a single thing I did not like.
