Well located in Midtown - far enough from the chaos of Time Square. Very helpful and friendly staff. The bed was very comfortable - renovated room. I will return at the same hotel on my next trip.
Water bottles not included - had to pay for Intercon’s house water bottles. This is unacceptable in my mind. Everywhere I travelled around the world, free water is offered except for the high-end brands. The delivery fee of 9$ for room service is greedy especially when the prices of food are already inflated 2 to 3 times and there’s a 23% gratuity. Maybe for corporate guests that’s acceptable when you are not paying for your bills but for tourists this is taking advantage of us and doesn’t entice guests to support the hotel’s food and beverage department. NYC hotel prices have gone through the roof but that’s the new normal….

Nice and large lobby - Good sized rooms.
Cant keep water in mini bar as no room and hotel would charge extra to make room in mini bar for personal use.. Seriously???? That sucks when one is paying $500 per night to stay at a hotel..Very poor

Our room as requested was quiet and on a higher floor, and was unusually spacious particularly by New York standards; the bed was very comfortable, the decor was attractive and bedroom and bathroom quite clean. Located close to Grand Central station (we trained in), it's walkable to many midtown attractions and shopping. The hotel restaurant and bar were a nice way to begin and end the day (respectively! ;), and there were good choices nearby for a variety of levels of dining (the coffee and breakfast sandwich place next door, despite not providing seating currently due to Covid, is a good alternative to the civilized but pricey hotel buffet breakfast). We didn't have much contact with hotel staff, but from Reception and checkout, to housecleaning staff met in the hallways, to the bar and restaurant staff, everyone was friendly, courteous, and connected with us as personally as a very busy holiday scene permits. This hotel is a well-priced, quality option for tourists, business travelers, or locals like us popping into the city for a weekend.
I wish the fitness center had some natural light, it seemed claustrophobic and poorly lit to me and because of that I didn't use the facility.

The beds are super comfortable, very plush but still firm. Not feeling as though I was going to fall through. The bathroom was small but clean in the towels felt nice and plush. I was able to have an early check-in which was greatly appreciated seeing as though I had a short trip.
Doors were a little thin, while I was sleeping I could hear other guests coming back from there evening out. I woke up out of my sleep a few times. Otherwise the stay was amazing, for the most part the staff was wonderful until my interaction with the front office manager regarding a double billing of the resort fee. He was very dismissive, very rude, did not even bother to really look at my receipt until I threaten taking action because I was being charged twice for a fee. No empathy no understanding from the start like oh yes there's a fee you owe it you pay it. No trying to work through it nothing, nothing. For that reason alone I probably won't stay during my next trip to New York.

Our corner suite was very comfortable, with a bed that felt luxurious, a nice view, and helpful amenities. The location is convenient to Rockefeller Center, Grand Central and 5th Avenue shopping, but removed from the bustle and noise. What really made my stay at the Barclay stand out was its staff. Everyone I encountered had a level of professionalism that is a rarity at most hotels. I got the sense that the Barclay's staff had worked at the hotel for many years and were very dedicated to their jobs. The housekeepers all greeted my children with delight each time we saw them. The bartenders take their jobs seriously and make unforgettable cocktails. When I returned home from out stay, I discovered I had left behind two necklaces - one a recent gift. I called the hotel and security was holding them for me. The hotel sent them out to me overnight as soon as I called. How rare is it to get back something left behind in a hotel! This experience really confirmed for me how exceptional my stay at the Barclay was.

Everything about this hotel speaks to you of the golden age of travel! Nothing like the modern concept of a small room with a bed to sleep in for a couple of nights after working all day in the city. Here you are made to feel welcome, you are cosseted from the time you enter to the time you leave. First impression is great - a huge open lobby with the reception desks in the right and a large semicircular bar at center left with tables all around and a small dining room behind. There's always a buzz there at whatever time you walk in, and the food and drinks are impeccable. The room was very comfortable with a large bed and plenty of space. The bathroom a pleasure and decorated with a traditional vibe that was somehow completely up to date. Room service was fast, though make up service erred on the discreet side when we went out late one morning and came back at the end of the afternoon to find the room untouched. However a call to the front desk rectified this immediately. All in all a great experience that more than made up for the mistake we made by staying for one night in one of those chic modern flophouses I referred to above! The Intercontinental Barclay will definitely be out home from home in New York from now on.
What's not to like?!

The property was beautiful and the staff was professional and friendly. Sharon at the front desk was so sweet and made Us feel very welcome from the instant We got there. She gave Us great restaurant recommendations - Toscana49 was awesome and a few doors down! The condition of the hotel property with cleanliness and decor upon walking in made Me feel at ease and comfortable as soon as I walked in. I was a little nervous because Your pricing was so good that I didn't know what to expect regardless of how the pictures looked online but You Guys absolutely exceeded expectations on the property. Very classy. The Parlor Steak, Salmon and drinks were delicious. Food and drinks are expensive on the property but the room rates are so competitive that it was a fair trade.

We loved the hotel. From the warm greeting we received when we arrived to the beautiful reception decor. It had a real feeling of class about it. The room was very comfortable too and spotlessly clean. We found the location to be walking distance of so much that we wanted to see too
The price of drinks in the bar was extreme and the waiters very slow. Considering the guys earn a living from tips I would have expected to see them really going out of their way to serve us and others when it felt like they were just drifting along. It was circa $29 for 2 beers and that felt a bit heavy

Rooms ready on arrival. Clean on arrival, cleaned early in the day next day, Bed was great and comfortable. There was good temperature control in the room. Fabulous location making it easy to enjoy amazing New York. Great fun. Access to transportation also great. Reception staff was friendly, professional and very helpful. High marks for this hotel and a wonderful place to stay.
Automatic “gratuities” for services that are already well priced for the quality of the hotel even for one person being served at the bar. By definition, gratuities are a gift or sign of graciousness, reward for good service, etc. Utter nonsense and insulting to make them automatically charged. No incentive for good service. Serious nonsense

Our double bed room was very attractive and the beds were super comfortable.
The hotel has very limited dining options. Breakfast is available only until 11 a.m. and then the restaurant closes for the day. While the food prepared by room service was good, it too is only available until 11 a.m. and does not become available again until 5 p.m. A hotel of this caliber should have at least one restaurant that is open all day.
