The location was on the main thoroughfare and very convenient to many attractions, from the beach to restaurants and shopping. I liked having windows on two sides of the room that could be opened for the fresh breeze and the kitchenette, with a small fridge, microwave, and sink. The room was attractive and clean. It had a table with two chairs, a lamp, and a ceiling fan. It also had a hairdryer and provided shampoo and shower gel in a dispenser in the shower. We used the blanket that was provided. We rented a golf cart and enjoyed visiting with friends who were staying nearby and exploring sites such as Springer's Point, the Preservation Society, and Howards' Cemetary. Our favorite activity, which we did three of the four afternoons we were there, was to watch the fishing charters unload their catches onto the dock. We also enjoyed sitting on the porch in comfortable chairs to watch the evening sun with a bottle of wine and some snacks from a local deli.

I prefer a more firm mattress, but I know many prefer softer ones. We did not realize before we arrived all the amenities that might have been available to us, such as the pool, golf carts, and possibly bicycles. The door had a useful rack of hooks on the back, but near the bathroom, there was also a shelf with a bar that could have provided clothes hangers, but none were present. A tiny amount of hand-dishwashing soap would have been welcomed. We liked the pillows, but there were only two of them for the two of us. A third or even fourth pillow, more or less firm, would have been appreciated.

This was our first time visiting Ocracoke and Pony Island Inn helped make our journey a wonderful experience. We were running late to check in but, Roger, the front desk called me and we completed check in over the phone. House keeping staff was excellent at keeping our room nice and clean every day.

There is nothing I did not like about the property. I would stay there again with no hesitation. Thank you Pony Island Inn for helping make our stay an enjoyable one!!

Location was great, breakfast not so good. Potatoes are not hashbrowns, hashbrowns are shredded. Ham like a ham steak and not country ham. The grits were too thick wouldn't melt the butter. The eggs were good, tea was good, if you get juice, you have to pay extra for a refill even though it already cost 3.00 and comes out of a jug, carton, container. The price was ridiculously pricey. Had an excellent breakfast at another establishment and it was even 15.00 cheaper.

Cute facility, clean, next to a great breakfast restaurant by the same name. Central location. They do rent golf carts @$75.00 for 24 hours. I would check the prices somewhere else to see if it is comparable. They also rent bikes. The main area, activity wise is nearby in the town of Ocracoke .Both bikes and carts work well as means of transportation Park your car and rent one. The island is flat..no hills. There is no beach near town.Lots of fishing,and water related opportunities. The "wild ponies" are inclosed by the highway on the way to town.

Lots of people visiting so drive with care. Not everyone who rents a cart or a bike is looking out for your car.

The porch side is very comfortable and you don't feel like you are in a hotel. Personally, I feel that the Pony Inn is the best hotel on the island. This was our second visit to Ocracoke this summer and our second stay at the Pony Inn. There was a problem with our door lock and key and Deon, the manager, reached out to me and graciously gave me a credit on my bill. I am a person who values customer service and Deon has earned my loyalty as a customer.

I liked the property.

Location was very good, everything you need is just a short walk. pool was nice, Staff was always available and and politely helpful.

plenty of parking but driving a huge vehicle to a small island where access is by ferry and driving golf carts are the main transportation, well a small vehicle is a smart move. Expect to park the big truck and rent a golf cart.

I stayed here for one night with my best friend in a room with two double beds. The room was clean and big, and the little kitchenette with fridge and microwave was so convenient for reheating leftovers. The location is amazing, and the motel has bicycles in excellent condition that you can rent on-site. We didn’t get a chance to use the pool, but it was clean and people were there having a great time. I’d definitely stay here again.

From the moment we entered the front office we were treated like family. Chris was welcoming and answered all our questions. the room was beautiful and felt hospital clean. Can we talk about the bedding. Everything from the blankets to the pillows smelled so crisp and clean. The shower was great and had good pressure. The kitchenette was perfect. Everything was so much more than expected! was sad that we had to use the after hours key drop in order to catch the 7am ferry, would had loved to give the kudos personally to the staff.

The ONLY “issue” was the towels are so nice that no matter how you hang them they don’t air dry. would have preferred to reuse our towels on our second day to save washing, but had to use the second sets.

I like the fact that it had a stove and full size refrigerator. It's a great location.

My confirmation email said that we would have a room with two bedrooms and a sitting area a double bed in each bedroom that was not the case it was just two double beds in one room. Thought I was getting more of a room then I got.

Great little motel with kitchenette and everything you need to spend time on the island, pool was an added bonus.

The mattresses are still the old style spring mattresses, so not super supportive or comfy.
