The Hancock Hotel

Everything was great.

Apon walking into the Hancock hotel I parked my car under the pavilion a teen greeted me at the door said, "Welcome to the Hancock, would you like your car valeted?", to which I replied, "no thank you", The other valet person older white man asks are you delivering something then or what are you doing? ", I replied with a swift thank you and a gasp because i was genuinely surprised. Those couple questions were a whole 20 second interrogation and I realized that he had ruined my stay before it even started. As an African American it is hard to travel to foreign places because I'm always in fear that I'm not getting the same treatment or being judged just because I hadn't been wearing a suit and tie like the usual guest that stays there.

The hotel itself is beautiful and well-maintained. Our room was clean and well-stocked with amenities. Bed was super-comfy and had plenty of pillows. The locally-made chocolates on the pillow were a sweet touch too!

It was Easter weekend so the Mancy's was setting up for brunch and had complimentary continental breakfast set up in the lobby. We arrived about an hour before it ended and were disappointed that everything was out with the exception of a bit of leftover yogurt in a bowl and a stray bagel. Staff did work to bring out morre fruit and yogurt, but never restocked the juices or bread/bagels/cream cheese.

Very clean, fairly quiet. Comfortable bed. Well-maintained exterior and interior.

For being a 4-star hotel, I would have expected more sound barriers between rooms. I could hear the person next door every time they sneezed or talked. I would also expect there to be an alternative off-street parking other than the valet only parking. I paid 1/3 of the valet cost by parking in the public parking garage that was a 7-minute walk away. The shower handle to adjust the temperature and spray option was confusing; once I was able to access warm water, I could not get it set back to the spray option I wanted.

The Hancock hotel made a wonderful impression from the moment we drove up to the entrance and were greeted by a cheerful and efficient parking valet. The stunning marble lobby with its blazing fireplace was most welcoming on the chilly evening of our arrival. Every staff member that we encountered on our stay greeted us with a smile and was eager to assist. There were thoughtful details throughout the hotel, such as the framed vintage photographs depicting the fascinating history of the Hancock and Findlay. The location of the hotel was ideal for the conference I was attending at the Mazza Museum. One final example of the excellent attention to detail we experienced at the Hancock, the parking valet who brought up our car as we were checking out, had turned on our heated seats, a much appreciated gesture on a 37 degree morning. We will without a doubt be staying at the Hancock on our next visit to Findlay.

The facility is only a few years old and is beautiful and well maintained. The staff exudes small town charm and friendliness and provides service that is prompt, responsive, welcoming and caring.

I'm one of those guys that likes the free waffle thing in the morning and that is not available. There is a pay to play breakfast buffet available in the on-site restaurant, Mancy's. There is a breakfast cafe down the street that is also great.

Very business traveller orientated . not tourist. Basic continental breakfast would have been appreciated. Clean and comfortable room. Quiet room.

Valet parking. upon check in very busy. Keys in car waiting to be parked. un-nerving due to concerns of theft of vehicle left on street. Could have included complimentary small break fast. coffee (ok could be improved) yogurt, fruit

Everything about my stay was perfect, from feeling welcomed by the staff at check in to the room itself and the quiet atmosphere at the hotel. The bathroom sink in my room I found to be partially clogged, I called in early on my first morning after I left the hotel and spoke with Kelsey about it. She said she would let maintenance know, when I returned in the late afternoon it had been taken care of. Fantastic service!

Can't think of a thing I didn't like.

Beds were very comfortable with plenty of pillows.

For the amount charged per night, room should be much cleaner, layers of dust on outlets & ice bucket, holes in sheets, fan in bathroom didn't work, tiny fridge no freezer when cheaper hotels have kitchenettes, no streaming services on tv. Was told could not check in early but out room had clearly been cleaned long before we arrived.

The hotel is located in the heart of the city, not the outskirts. Beautifully maintained property with all of the amenities. Particularly like the option of being able to use the bicycles to get around. The staff was friendly and very helpful. We certainly recommend it and will stay their again.

It’s a very classy looking upscale hotel with a great value. When visiting the downtown area of Findlay it’s right near everything, it’s within walking distance to many restaurants, bars and coffee shops. It was the perfect spot to stay for coming back to Findlay for a family reunion.
