American Inn Port O'Connor

When I go to Port O’Conner with the guys I want a comfortable clean place to clean up after a long day of fishing. The beds are comfortable and clean. Air conditioning is good and the room has a fridge and a microwave! Check-in and check-out process is easy. Good safe place to park my boat and only 2 blocks from the boat launch. The condition of the rooms are showing their age on the Texas coast and in a little need of repair but nothing major. Everything is clean and maintained. Rooms are serviced everyday which is nice to have clean towels and coffee replenished! This is the third time I’ve stayed there and it won’t be the last. Set your expectations for a reasonably priced room that is clean and you can get a good nights sleep and you won’t be disappointed!

Towels are a little thin and kinda rough!

I really liked the location. It’s close to the boat ramps and fishing centers. The property is an older hotel/ motel with parking in front of the rooms. It made loading and unloading luggage and fishing equipment easy. There was a place for me to park my boat while we went to breakfast or dinner. They even had power outlets to plug in my boat to charge my batteries. The room was clean and bed was comfortable. I had two rooms, next to each other, and my 3 teenage boys were in the second room. both rooms were comparable. There was plenty of hot water in the shower and linens and towels were clean. If you are expecting the Four Seasons, you shouldn’t stay here. If you want a place to spend a few days while fishing with your family, it’s a great place to spend the night.

The TV cabinet door which housed the refrigerator was broken and made it difficult to access what I had in it. This should have been fixed.

The staff is excellent. Close to everything as well.

It says no smoking on the doors as you enter the units, however, there is a VERY strong cigarette smell inside the units. No assigned or designated parking spaces, other than handicap spaces. You’ll end up parking on the opposite side of the parking lot from your room. The plus to that is, there are security cameras (hopefully they work).

Did not eat breakfast there so can’t comment. Easy access. Left a pair of jeans there & staff kind enough to notify me. Just told them to give away as I live too far to drive back for them.

Safety latch on door was broken. Towels & wash cloths were a little rough but not a big problem. Coffee pot in room dripped everywhere when pouring into cup. Coffee not very flavorful.

The rooms were nice, the location was awesome!! The staff were very friendly. Free breakfast was also very good.

The ice machine is in an isolated area.....kinda scary after dark.

Convenient location. Very professional and supportive staff. Very clean room. Good bed. Great shower. These were what we were looking for.

There was an odor on the first day. They did put in a room deodorant and it improved. There was a lot of dampness in the room even with ac on 72 degrees.

There was no breakfast

I was expecting breakfast and coffee availability I. The morning but, the doors remain locked after the allotted time

Bed was very comfortable in room 21, freshly painted, room was clean, AC worked great.

TV menu was too hard to figure out the menu/remote - or I was too tired to try. The bathroom fan sounded like a helicopter at first, but settled in and functioned good.

The room was clean and free from odor with friendly staff. Nice area of town.

They don't serve breakfast.

Location was great in town. They provide breakfast. Staff was nice.

The towels are old and stained . AC needs to be cleaned when you turn on you can smell mold.
