The grits and selection of fruit was delicious, but the eggs, turkey and sausage were sorely overcooked. There was also yogurt, bagels and pre-packaged waffles. In past, the breakfast goods were definitely fresher, but I know in most places there's challenges with staff shortages and the impact of goods increasing in price.

This is our third time staying here and we look forward to the comfortable accommodations (the shower rocks!), but it was definitely noticeable in the challenge with staff shortage and it felt like when we were at breakfast the lady working was watching everything we were taking from the breakfast area which was a little uncomfortable.

The staff was very pleasant and informative, easy check-in, loved our room location and amenities, and especially liked the rooftop bar for drinks and a bite to eat. The hotel location can't be beat, walkable downtown and across the street of Longwood College.

It was a meager grab-and-go breakfast, no fresh fruit (at least apples and bananas should be offered), only vanilla yogurt. A disappointment in an otherwise excellent hotel experience.

Great Staff. Good Breakfast. Location was great. All around great experience. Visually very pleasant to the eyes and soul.

End corners on the bed stuck out. Bumped into them several times hard enough to cause my legs to bleed. It sad that something so beautiful could have this hazard. Since I take Eliquis, this could cause severe and life threatening bleeding problems.

It was a lovely old inn with such charm. I loved the room with it’s four poster bed, and the view of the town. It was a corner room with 3 large windows. The room was well appointed and was comfortable. 2nd floor Breakfast lounge was open to the back of the property and just a lovely place to sit and enjoy your morning coffee. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Nothing to dislike.

Great hotel! It was beautiful, clean, and the staff was warm and helpful. I felt like everyone cares about your experience, and they try to make your stay special (unlike chain hotels that all look the same and staff is unhappy). We loved our room, and the bed was very comfortable. Nice strong shower! Breakfast was abundant, and they kept replenishing it as costumers consumed it. Lots of different things to choose from, and of good quality. I really recommend this hotel.

The room was very clean. The beds were extremely comfortable. The layout and size of the bedroom and bathroom were excellent.

The only thing I can find fault with is the layout when it comes to getting to some of the rooms. My room was on the first floor, and the fact I had to go down down a couple of hallways to get to the correct elevator to my room. 1

The hotel was very easy to find. It had a beautiful entrance. The room exceeded my expectations. The room had classy vintage, boutique decor. The lighting was unique & fun. The bathroom was exquisite and the shower was AMAZING! Dining at the on-site restaurant, Taproot Tavern, was such a phenomenal delight! Menu selections were diverse, unique, affordable and everything was absolutely delicious! I can’t wait to go back!!

There wasn’t anything that I didn’t like.

Designers did a great job. Rooms were beautiful. Large. Comfortable. Balcony. It appeared all rooms were ADA without the appearance of one. Absolutely gorgeous rooms. It blew us away. It was great meeting the new GM. Very gracious. Staff members were friendly. We felt welcomed the moment we walked thru the door.

Coffeemate creamer.for coffee both on the continental table in the a.m. and in rooms. There was no cream or even milk.as they "dont have offer it" . Continental breakfast was a -0. They did this on the cheap and for a hotel like this, it should match the calibre of the rooms, not a Motel 6. . Coffee was a -0 There was a small group gathered in the lobby in town for a mtg we heard complain about the above as well. My suggestion, bring your own milk or creams,. There are keurigs.in the rooms with a small fridge and microwave. 1 good thing. There was fruit.

Room was very nice although a bit small as I reserved a King Bedroom. There was a luggage rack and holding tables for utilizing. Spacious bath with good lighting which is often not the case in boutique hotels. I had a view of the college across the street so there was lots of light. Catbird Rooftop Bar was a plus as I really loved the views and moonrise. Dining upstairs is more informal although tasty and taproom is delicious. Balcony rooms are more spacious with more room to work. I shall return soon and highly recommend.

Wi-Fi could have been better. I did not travel for work so it was not critical for me just a bit of an inconvenience.

The location was perfect for walking around town. The front staff were so sweet and pleasant. I loved saying hi to them when we came and went. The management was helpful and listened to our concerns. The restaurant was great, and the rooftop was a pleasant part of our visit.

There was no chair of any sorts to sit in. It was explained that it was because of the corner room but I think it would have been best if we were to have known this prior to the stay. I would not stay again if I was in the same room.
