Alex Seaside Resort

The room was excellent The staff were amazing, and their pre arrival communication was perfect. The view from the higher rooms would have been amazing, or level 2 suite view left a little to be desired, but you could see enough to know you were at the coast. The location is second to none, right across the road from the beach, great food places within walking distance, 5 minute drive to your usual take away shops, 6 or 7 minutes to Sunshine plaza on the same road. The staff were exceptional

The car park, though ample and only just high enough for our 4wd with a roof rack, it smelt very musty and stale, almost nauseating, a couple exhaust fans would fix it with absolutely no problems. If that's the only thing we didn't like, then it is a great place to stay

We were in the left side facing the beach where the view from our balcony was mainly the building next door We booked our stay over 6 months in advance and were hoping for views like the website showed

We were there off-season with a great rate, the room with separate bedroom and bathroom were fantastic, ground floor with the pool right in front of us. Staff were very cheerful and helpful. Would thoroughly recommend to everyone. We are staying again next time.

Only concern was the key fob for the security gate to the underground garage - the sign says to present card but it's actually the fob it's on which has to physically touch the pad for it to open, so "scratch anxiety" may be an issue for new-car drivers edging close enough.

Location and the layout of the apartment

The packing offered, very narrow and due to the car parked in the spot next to my allocated spot, was just leaving me very little space to get into and out of my vehicle. Also the washing up cloth and scourer were very stingerly supplied. A decent cloth and scourer could have been supplied at a minimal cost.

We had a Deluxe room. The views from the balcony were fantastic. In September you could sit there and see whales for hours if you wanted.

Main negative I would have to say is the on site car parking which is underground. If you have a SUV you will struggle to fit, it is possible, just need to fold in the mirrors in before you go all the way back, and then hope the car next to you on driver side is a smaller vehicle. So you can get out.

The location is perfect, right across from the beach, skate park, walking distance to restaurants and bowling. The managers were lovely and late check in was easy. Whilst some of the rooms furnishings were tired, it was clean and comfortable and this meant we didn't need to stress about our young boys messing anything. The room was comfortable for our 7 day stay while our 8 year old recovered from surgery. We were able to cook meals at the apartment and we also ate a few times at the surf club. We will definitely be back when we visit the Sunshine Coast again.

The clearance for the underground carpark was 2050, so our 4WD could not fit. There was street parking, but this was 2nrs between 8-5 daily, so when we spent the day at our room we had to keep moving our car. I can imagine in summer or school holidays there would be less street parking available.

The curtains in the main bedroom need replacing as only fit half the window. Ensuite bathroom needs updating, fittings rusty WIFI not available which made it hard for me to complete work while I was away, but this was being addressed the day we left.

Very good location. Accessible by bus to everywhere we wanted to go. No cooking facilities but sufficient cutlery and crockery in the cupboards. Alex Pantry for groceries and supplies and Alex Surf Club for meals are just 10 minutes walk. Hathi Indian Restaurant next door French patisserie shop next to Alex Pantry. Buses to Mooloolaba, Buderim, Maroochidore and even Caloundra.

No toiletries provided so we had to go to Alex Pantry for supplies.

We felt comfortable as soon as we walked into the apartment (unit 20) which was super clean and well presented - even the cutlery drawers were neatly laid out, a small but appreciated detail that showed the level of care given. The beds were very comfortable, with good, crisp linen. The lounge suite was also very comfortable - we both have dickey backs so this was a big plus for us. There was plenty of hot water, and everything we needed in the kitchen. We enjoyed watching the world go by from the balcony of the lounge and main bedroom and loved the views up and down the coast. I generally like quiet but the noise that drifted up from the roadway when the sliders were open never bothered me at all - it was part of the vibe of being there. We didn't mind that the pool wasn't heated either - it was more than warm enough for us Kiwis - pool then spa (and repeat) is the way to go. Check the drawer under the coffee table for games and books. We particularly liked the location. It's a beautiful stretch of beach to left or right of the resort and the boardwalk is a real asset for the region - we walked either to Mooloolaba or Maroochydore, most days - about 20 - 30 minutes one way for each, depending. Of course, there is heaps to see along the way and the beaches to divert you. Behind the resort is a lake with attractive lawns and shrubbery - well worth a stroll if you just want a 15 - 20 minute round trip constitutional. There are plenty of restaurants and cafes (all the cafes do good coffee) round about, and a grocery store a block away. Buses run everywhere from nearby stops and are cheap as chips. You'll need a Go card to ride the buses and you can buy one at the Lotto shop by Coles supermarket - or google the Maroochydore retailers. We appreciated the friendly managers, and their professional care... we had a slight issue with a bathroom door and they came 30 minutes back from their home to fix it straight away. Top marks.

There's nothing we didn't like - we did quietly muse that the building is maybe looking a bit tired and is perhaps due for a freshen up.

Our 2 bedroom apartment had large spacious rooms with fabulous beach / ocean views. Everything was clean and comfortable. Loved the big triangle spa bath. Great to watch the terrific skills of the skateboarders in the excellent purpose built facility over the road, near the Alexander Headland Surf Club. Location is a pleasant stroll in either direction along the beach to Mooloolaba and Maroochydore surf clubs. 5 minute drive to huge Sunshine Plaza shopping mall. Good Central location for day trips.

Car parks are so small we had to fold the side mirrors on our cx5 and passenger had to get out beforehand.
