Kondari Hotel

It was close to Woolworths and a bottle shop and well situated for the Mariana to do Fraser island. The pool was a really good size and a lot better than the other hotel pools we had used in Australia. The kids loved the river with all its turtles that came up the bank everyday to see them at breakfast time.

Although there was cooking facilities in the room there was no bowls etc to boil anything in the microwave and no sharp knives to cut and prepare anything with. Reception were very helpful and provided things if asked but it would be good to have them in the room already for people that don't wish to eat out.

The rooms are dated/basic, but are a good size (important when travelling with a baby), comfortable and clean. Our bed was super comfortable as well. We arrived late and ordered room service from the bistro - we were really impressed with the meals, they were well priced and delicious. It was also easy to check in at the bistro outside of reception operating hours.

The resort overall could do with improving amenities, such as reinstalling bbqs (there are structures for the bbqs but with no hot plates), as there was only one bbq in the pool area.

The staff and privacy

Very annoyed about the cardholders policy for check in. I booked online through bookings.com. My friend had paid for my stay on her card online. When I got to the office I was told the card holder would need to be there in person to allow check in. There were no indications on the app of the requirement and we then had to use the cash which we wanted to enjoy ourselves and most likely would have spent at your venue on the room and security deposit. That was almost 600 that you guys missed out on.

We loved our stay at Kondari hotel. The room was perfect for an over night stay- clean, spacious and comfortable. What made our stay however, was the kindness of the staff at reception. In particular, Karina and Belinda. They both went above and beyond to ensure we had a comfortable stay and we are so grateful for this. You both deserve all the recognition and are a complete asset to Kondari hotel. Thank you once again.

Unit overlooked the lake and was quiet, clean and had everything needed for a night's stay. Loved the pool, the proximity to the bistro and enjoyed a early morning walk along the beach. Thoroughly enjoyed waking to bird song and then watching the antics of the coots, ducks and ibis while eating breakfast.

Dinner at the bistro was mixed. Seafood curry was great but the calamari as a main was not so good. The chips were cold and the calamari only just warm. The salad was lovely. They did offer a voucher for a complimentary meal... but since we were only there one night that wasn't an option.

The staff are very friendly and accommodating, it was wonderful interacting with them. The Bar and Bistro is fabulous, reasonable prices, great selection and the staff second to none. Highly recommend eating at the Bar and Bistro. It was great being next door to the gardens, a great relaxing walk before dinner.

The room was a bit noisy, seemed like thin walls and the tile floor and other hard surfaces causing noise to be amplified.

Whilst the hotel rooms are a little dated, the comfy bed, the chairs & tables to sit outside & birdwatch, the great meals, wonderful staff like Teleah who runs that busy restaurant fantastically, as well as it's location, near Woolies & the Botanical Gardens, means we will be back! Plus sooo many turtles in the lagoon!

No face washers in the bathroom

Positives: The bed was comfortable. The hot water in the shower was perfect!!! It was nice to have shampoo/conditioner/body wash supplied. Towels were soft. Heater in the room was great.

Negatives: Was told that the free wifi did not extend to where my room was unfortunately (Room 32) The QR code in the room showed that I was unable to order room service, it was just after 6pm when I tried.

We came here for one night prior to going to K'Gari. We walked around as the hotel is pretty well located (close to Botanical Garden and Pier). We enjoyed the pool in the afternoon and had the most wonderful dinner in the evening. Our waitress (Thalia) was incredible and the food was 10/10. Not to mention the sunset over the water

It was a great experience staying here! Staff were all very helpful, clear instructions to get to and from the room, the room was very clean and aircon was already on and at a great temperature. I was able to check in early with no fuss which was a great help. The room service was very reasonably priced and fresh & hot when arrived. Beautiful view right outside of our room with beautiful turtles and birds in the water only 10 meters from our hotel room door. It was quite sound proof which was a great bonus with the music we had on. Coffee and milk was included and in a plentiful amount. Very spacious room with great natural lighting. Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone coming to Hervey Bay :)

there was a $300 cash deposit that needed to be paid if you didn’t have specifically a credit card, they couldn’t put a $1 hold on your debit card like most other hotels. that was slightly frustrating but not too bad.
