Ramada by Wyndham Hervey Bay

Since it was school holidays and we managed to book the last room our room was a good size and very comfortable. The breakfast was very good and the staff were all very helpful and friendly. We ate at Smoky Joe's one night and found the food good value and good quality. The hotel is located within a two minute walk to Boat Harbour for even more restaurants. The room was very clean and we loved the free on demand movies at night.

We were at the hotel for a few days and including a Saturday night during the school holidays. Unfortunately the parking area was full when we returned from a night out with friends and had to park on the street and by the next morning the car was covered in bird droppings. At least we didn't own the convertible car next to us who parked with their roof down.

Close to everything easy to park in underground parking and get to rooms. Staff helpful and friendly

The kitchen staff had no idea about catering for breakfast. The baymaree had run out of most food there was only some dry baked beans and a couple of runny white eggs. When I mentioned there was no food i was asked what do you want , explaining there was nothing there we were told there would be a wait. had to wait 15 minutes before any additional food came out and then the quantity was insufficient for all of us waiting. No clean plates so had to wait again. This wasn’t even during school holidays. Only one bar staff new how to make cocktails. The staff on at night were more than helpful but they struggled with numbers of guests vs staff.

The Ramada is in a great location close to the marina and ferry. The hotel is also in easy walking distance from the Boat Club and other dining options. There's convenient secure parking underneath. Although facing the road, our room was quiet. Staff were friendly and obliging. Overall, we felt the Ramada Hervey Bay provided good value.

Our stay was good so there's not much we didn't like. If I had to be picky, there weren't any 'extras' in the room over and above a standard '3 star' motel. A coffee pod machine as opposed to the generic instant coffee sachets provided would have been a nice touch and in line with other hotels we've stayed at with similar room rates. Only minor though and we didn't have to venture too far for a decent coffee.

The rooms are big with really comfortable beds. We were right by the pool with access straight from our room. Good selection of movies and casting available. Breakfast was also really good value and yum.

The spa could have been slightly warmer and smoking joes should have had longer hours and be open for lunch.

This was a last minute booking as we didn't like our last place and checked out early. This was a lovely find, very quiet and in a wonderful location near the marina. The bed was comfortable and although we overlooked the swimming pool, we couldn't hear the people in it with the doors shut. The bedroom was set off the kitchen/dinning room area with doors that could be closed and no windows so no light came in to disturb us. We wish that we had been able to stay longer.

There was entertainment as it was Saturday evening, it wasn't to our taste and was quite loud.

I like the location and the rooms. One of my room service meals wasn't nice (Moreton Bay Bug and Pasta) just had no taste, however, my sticky date pudding was delicious and my prawns and rice the following night were nice. Next time I stay I will go to the restaurant as I feel the meals will be nicer from the restaurant. I have eaten at the restaurant before and my meals were great!! It is just sometimes easier to get your meal in when you are travelling for work.

The hotel was quiet. Lovely and clean. Had a magnificent meal at Smokey Joes Cafe. We had a ground floor unit overlooking the pool area, it was very relaxing. Nobody was swimming though so it could possibly be a noisy room in summer months, but for this visit we relaxed straight away.

Everything was good - I had to think hard to find something, so if I really want to be picky, it was the pillows - only had one very flat pillow. I am sure if we had of requested another pillow, they would have sent one, but overall I slept very well.

It was very clean the receptionist was very friendly. Also I think it was the best bed for comfort we have ever stayed in.

I have a disability where I have just had major back surgery I didn’t appreciate the cleaning staff question me and quite rude about me parking in a disability parking spot even though I had a sticker as I wasn’t in a wheelchair anymore even though I have been in one for the last 6 years. So I was quite shocked at that but other than that our time there was pleasant.

Room was excellent and very comfortable. Motel is well located close to the Boat Harbour and beach. Very clean and well kept.

Unfortunately there is new housing being built next to property and they commenced work with a bob cat around 7am. Also, restaurant's quality has diminished from our last visit in April 2022. We shared the seafood platter and despite having to order 24hrs in advance and the motel being across the road from 2 seafood distributors, there was little 'fresh' seafood on the platter - most was crumbed and deep fried . The previous platter was entirely fresh seafood so we were very disappointed as we were expecting the same quality.

The rooms and facilities were great , clean and better than expected. The staff were very polite, friendly and professional. Smokey Joe's food was delicious, and the steak and salmon was cooked to perfection. The young Zaieda who was attending each day was outstanding.

Parking can get a full at times and unfortunately tight when people park the bigger 4wd , rams etc in places that stick out. A dedicated area for these larger vehicles would help.
