Main Street Motel

Hervey Bay was a resting spot for us on our way to Airlie Beach from Surfers Paradise. We booked this motel as a cheap place to sleep in between destinations. We arrived late due to travelling however, the lady that greeted us was lovely and super friendly. We were surprised to be offered a continental breakfast for the morning also. The actual motel itself was spotless and it was equipped with a microwave, toaster, kettle, hair dryer etc. We were also pleased with the location in terms of how close we were to the beach although, we benefited from having a car also to venture to the pier head as this is too far to walk.

The showers have the typical look and feel of being unclean. this comes from quick wipeovers of the shower instead of a 'regular' good clean. I suggest every 4 to 6 weeks spray the showers with bleach or exit mould, let it sit on the surfaces for about half an hour then give it a light go over with a scourer. This will stop the 'orange and black mould from re-appearing so quickly, if at all. After doing this a few times, then in between a quick wipeover will be all that's needed. It makes it an easier and quick clean each time.

Everything about our stay was catered to especially being on a tight budget,having continental breakfast daily was an added bonus.

Maybe better up keep around pool area eg:weed control and better lounge chairs . But really this wasn't a major issue at all as we enjoyed family time in the pool.

This was our first stop on our road trip up the East coast. perfect for our needs. Spotlessly clean, spacious, comfortable bed and excellent en-suite. Parking right outside the door. A very nice breakfast was delivered to the room the night before, which was perfect because we had an early departure and we could eat breakfast at a time convenient to us. Lovely, warm and friendly welcome from the owners. Highly recommend the Main Street Motel.

The room was comfortable and renovated. The included Continental breakfast each day was a bonus. It is walking distance to Coles, Big W, laundromat and RSL. The waterfront is a bit further to walk but it was such excellent value. Hervey Bay is so spread out you need to drive anyway.

Very clean and very comfortable and quiet area. Lovely friendly helpful staff!!

No security on windows, so I was hesitant to have window with just the screen open at night. But it was all good, I had it a wee bit open as well as the other small windows on other side. There are security cameras there so there is not likely to be any intruders. Also it's a nice quiet area.

The location of the motel was great, within walking distance to everything you’d need including the beach, shops and laundrette. The room itself was clean and tidy. The beds were comfy. The staff were really helpful and friendly .

Very clean . Bed was fantastic. The breakfast included in price was great. The managers were so friendly. Will definitely stay here again and tell friends. Also location was close enough to walk to shopping and food.

Putting a cover over car parks would be the icing on the cake.

Room was very clean and well equipped Decent size Good shower Light breakfast included, ideal to start the day (bread with spreads, cornflakes, muesli, juice) Convenient location near shops and a short drive from the esplanade, beaches and points of interest

Wi-Fi was overall pretty bad- could not browse emails The area gets noisy early in the morning from traffic, though it did not affect our sleep.

Motels and resorts I previously had stayed at in Caloundra had increased their rates since "post" Covid by as much as 400%, and as I am averse to being "ripped off" I decided to visit Hervey Bay instead. This motel was very reasonably priced, it was immaculately clean, the bed was extremely comfortable and the managers were wonderful people. It represented exceptional value for money and I would highly recommend it.
