Sarayi Boutique Hotel

Location was excellent - in the middle of the esplanade, opposite the swimming area of the beach and near cafes and restaurants. Receptionist was super lovely and friendly, told me about her own cattle dog. There was a small patio at the back of the room which was a lovely surprise especially as I was travelling with my dog. Bright white sheets on bed. Cutlery, plates and bowls, fridge with milks and towels provided.

A sweep of the rooftop would’ve been good, but as the price was reasonable I expected some things would be less than perfect.

I arrived after the kitchen was closed and departed before it opened in the morning. But the front of house guy pointed me at a truly excellent pizza place up the road.

Pfaffing around trying to find the safe, there was no envelope for me - late booking I guess. Phone support dribbled out the information like it was a secret. Couldn’t find my room - it was hidden behind reception and parking in Palm Cove is a nightmare- until I discovered the car park out the back and there was just one space left - thankfully. But Room was great. Bed was great too.

Good location, nice staff. No complaints. The Lady at reception rang us to tell us our room was ready as we were out at Palm Cove. Also we were able to stay one night, which was good. AS we were locals, and only came up for one night with overseas guests

We’d booked another property in Palm Cove for the week but needed an overnight stay somewhere close by the night before due to a very late flight so Sarayi was just perfect for that. Staff really friendly and efficient, easy after hours check in process. We were called to let us know we’d accidentally left a pillow behind - thank you!

Charged a $200 bond which we still haven’t received 3 days after check out despite being reassured it was released the day we departed. I don’t know why but this always happens when I have to pay a bond so I don’t blame the hotel directly, it’s just a super frustrating process because I have to chase it up. $200 also seemed pretty steep considering the room rate was only about $140 and we found food in the fridge from previous guests.

Initial room was not the room we had booked, and was not acceptable (no storage, TV hard to view, no seating) after discussions with the Manager (after 3 days, wife said put up with it, lol) we were allocated the room we had booked, (ground floor with garden court yard). This room was far and above better than the previous one. very comfortable, mirrored wardrobe space (fit for a 20 day stay) TV well positioned and additional seating. All the staff were very friendly and accommodating.

Swimming pool on the roof has no shade, some shaded areas would make it more enjoyable. Parking was hit and miss only 8 parking places on site. Rooms were not serviced with any regularity, had to ask to have room made up, sheets were not changed unless you requested it along with clean towels, as a result sheets were only changed once in 17 days. Was not made aware that the rooms were un serviced when room was booked.

Great location on the Esplanade and we had a spacious ground floor room with adequate small courtyard. Bathroom a bit tired but good shower. Can be a little noisy in the tiled foyer area and when early yoga class lot use the stairs. While front bar is out of action, generally quiet. Pool and terrace on roof a bonus. Good to hear waves breaking at night.

The place feels a bit abandoned and it is unclear how much if ever it will be refurbished. No printed welcome info, unclear if rooms are serviced. Help on the desk was appreciated.

View was lovely, quirky atmosphere and architectural style, old world charm.

I ordered two single beds on booking.com but we got a king instead. However they had upgraded us to a lovely ocean front room, and I'm not sure if this is what I had originally booked for and paid for. Because the bed so was large it was easy to share and I had a great night sleep. Overall lovely clean, fun, interesting place to stay right in the heart of Palm Cove.

the beach was only a few minutes across the road and it was late by the time I got there so not safe to go in, but the sounds of the ocean were beautiful.

the way I had to find a car park, I wasn't able to find the hotel car park, from the back area. Then I tried to ring up and get the key for the room from the night attendee, the first girl wasn't very helpful, but the second lady was very good and helped a lot from getting my room key to finding my room and making me feel at home.

The staff where so accommodating and helping us with a very very late check in. Great service and super friendly. Room was clean and the location is absolutely perfect. No spiders, so that was a bonus! Everything that you need is in walking distance, apart from Coles which is about a 30-40minute walk or a 7 minute Uber ride. Other than that, our holiday was absolutely amazing! Will stay here again. I highly recommend.

The location is fantastic, we had a beachfront apartment and the view and sound of the ocean was fantastic. The size of the room was perfect for a family of 2 adults and 2 young children (6 & 4yrs old). The room was clean. Plenty of good restaurants. We could not get the children out of the rooftop pool. Palm Cove is the perfect place to base yourself to visit all the sights (we had a hire car). I have seen complaints about leaves everywhere but I found this only to be a problem on windy days and personally I liked the fact that the whole of palm cove esplanade is covered in tree's that make the location feel special. Compared to other beachfront accommodation in Palm Cove we felt the rates ended up being good value.

Some minor things such as coat hangers and cleaning cloths were missing from the room. This isn't such a big deal as we picked these things up from coles which is only in the next suburb. Would be good if staff cleaned the tables on the rooftop terrace more frequently and also turned on the lights on the rooftop terrace at night. Our room didn't have any curtains or blinds for the front room so the kids did get woken up early by the sunlight and on some nights the front lights were left on and that did light up the front room (but fortunately didn't keep the kids awake). One of the front restaurants in the hotel is still under renovation - there was no noise or anything like that. These things didn't detract from our stay we had a good experience overall.
