Iconic nature of the hotel, being the tallest building in the whole Tasmania. Location was perfect. We took a lot of photos in surrounding areas and the hotel was close to the tourist attractions and CBD. Beautiful views of the city and ocean. Staff members were friendly and attentive to our requests and fixings at the earliest opportunity. DELICIOUS food at the restaurant (we went to Boardwalk for breakfast every day, once for lunch, and twice for dinner). Cocktails were great at the bar. Checkout time was appropriate. Everything was fantastic! We could not have enjoyed our time more.

The lifts were tricky to use. Most of the times busy, with one of them being renovated. They have started showing their age.

Large rooms, great view from the big windows. Parking is large and free!

The renovation activity at the time made check in/check out and access through the hotel very difficult. Only 1 small working lift for the entire hotel, delaying access to and from the room! Rooms are very dated. Not many food options in the area if you are not wanting to dine in the casino. You have to drive or take public transport back into the city for a good feed.

View from room excellent. Bistro ok for pub-style meals, other restaurants not tried. We did not know until we got there that it is also a casino, but unless you have an objection in principle, the gaming areas are avoidable and there is no pressure to gamble. On-site parking plentiful and free. Good bus service to/from Hobart on adjacent main road.

One of the guest lifts (out of two) was under repair for our entire stay {5nights). Though the hotel had opened the service lift for guests to use, there were still waits of up to 10min at busy times. Not much more they could have done, though we saw no evidence that anyone was working on it.

Great location , so central to Hobart. Onsite dining is very good. Room service is first rate.

We had booked 2 rooms in the Waters Edge building which has been recently done up to a good standard and we would stay there again But the main gripe i have is that there is no dedicated parking for staying guests who have a car , you take pot luck in getting a parking spot in the complex on a busy night and as we had driven down to Tas from Qld for a holiday we had our car to find parking for . When the car park is full tough luck you need to find parking in the local streets some distance away , very inconvienient .

Stay included use of spa and pool, as well as gym (didn’t use). Good restaurants and room service, so we didn’t have to go anywhere after a long days of hiking. The hot chocolate in the room was excellent! Shower was good too and loved the toiletries provided. Staff friendly and helpful (both at front desk and eateries). Ample parking. Great price, especially since I was able to use my Booking.com credits. We had a lovely view.

Soundproofing doors would be ideal. We were right in front of the lift so it was noisy when sleeping because other guests were not considerate. Perhaps a sign would help. We hung our towels as instructed but they were changed anyway, sometimes just the one, sometimes both. Lights were confusing and not very bright for reading. Bar fridge wasn’t very cold. Room service only provided one set of cutlery for two people. Annoying tv remote without number buttons.

Great view! Very retro and classic. The place is ever so slightly rough around the edges but none that would impact your quality of stay - historically aged. Staff all throughout from concierge to cleaners were lovely. Easy in and out access for when we were busy in Hobart. Good value for money and very close to Hobart - not walking distance but perfect if you have a car or scooters. A shame we weren’t there longer to use the facilities.

There were little bits and bobs of the room that could’ve been more clean e.g. the mirror top had so much dust it was falling off and the blow drier back was dusty, but overall nothing major. The water temperature kept changing during showers but again, didn’t ruin our stay.

Booked a suite with river view on the 16 th floor. One of the best hotels I ve stayed in. Room was very large and the bathroom was most certainly the best of any hotel in which we ve stayed.

Hotel is focused on the gambler . The pool and Spa are much of a make do. Breakfast was a bit like a holiday camp. No tea or coffee served at your table and some things did run out on more than one occassion. Would that put us off , No we would definately stay here again.

We stay often, just love the location & the view from the tower is just amazing. Meals are so good & the staff are welcoming!

Only hassle was the inconvenience of only 1 lift working AGAIN!! There seems to be maintenance on the lifts every time. When you are on a high level it can be so time consuming!

Fantastic (top floor) view of the city. Clean & comfortable. Several dinner options on site.

Breakfast was good, adequate, but had a ‘cruise ship buffet’ vibe; Avoided their ‘scrambled eggs’ after the first day; not good; opted for fresh poached eggs instead. Out of the CBD, a short drive every day, but we knew this when booking. Upside was free parking. Slow elevators; one of the two main guest lifts was out of service for maintenance, which I guess is a good thing; at least guests could also use the service elevator to alleviate the wait.

View was spectacular. Room was wonderful, but you need to include a place away from the bed (bedbugs) to unload your suitcase. Breakfast was delivered on time both mornings on time, but the second morning I had to ring room service the night before because I was not given a form to fill in. Foyer, there is no where to sit waiting for tour coaches to turn up in line of sight. ( I waited half an hour for a tour bus, it’s a long time to stand outside in the cold early morning.)

Another restaurant is necessary- more middle of the road, but excellent quality. The revolving restaurant was excellent. I don’t eat Chinese food (msg intolerant), but along those lines. The bistro food was very average. I am a senior woman I am not going to turn up to a steak house (Longhorn) marketed to men. I really enjoyed the cocktail bar, feeling relaxed to attend on my own without being bothered. Attractive to all ages, groups etc. Perhaps up market Italian? Not pizza, pasta. A large communal table welcoming single women, as well as more intimate settings for couples? And large group tables.
