BEST WESTERN PLUS Travel Inn

First of all, the location for us was perfect since we came to explore the city and the University of Melbourne. Secondly, it was very quiet and the bed was comfortable. The staff at the reception was superhelpful and with good sence of humour.

I bit tiny bathroom. The view from the window at some old house and back walls of other buildings (we were at the room 206). A very expensive breakfast: we tried it only once, but still remember that a couple of fried eggs and a cup of green tea cost each of us $35. Terribly expensive and disappointing.

Rarely do staff make an impression when checking in, however Therese was so warm and welcoming, informative. We needed a car park for the stay, $30/day as agreed. We requested a quiet room, quiet indeed, we slept soundly throughout our stay - comfy beds. We had a jacuzzi to tub, managed to try it for one night - working in order! For the price, location, comfort and facilities- we cannot be more pleased. Will comeback again should we come down to Melbourne

It was a room, without a view. But understandably so, we prioritise a quiet room.

Location is fabulous. 1 block away is Lygon St and another block either way are tram services straight into Melbourne. The rooms are very well presented and certainly met all our needs.

The actual bathroom was a bit cramped however was fine for us. If you were a bigger person it maybe difficult however having been in many European countries - the bathroom was generous compared to those. The other feedback would be the Bar/breakfast area was closed for some of our stay.

Great place to stay! Room was nice and clean and a good size for 3 of us ! We had a room with a good size TV, a large double bed and a single bed (2 x Adults & 1x 8 year old child)! Bathroom is clean, small but practical with nice fluffy towels, shampoo, conditioner, soap,shower cap & face washers too! SKitchenette had kettle, mugs, tea, sugar, coffee supplies! It had extra blankets, pillows, ironing board & iron supplied in a wardrobe with cloths hangers (& safe)! Split system worked great 😊👍.

Would be nice to have electric blankets in beds ! The cupboard doors banged closed (makes loud noise) and can be heard from room to room….it would be a good idea to put felt pads or rubber bump stickers on cupboard doors to eliminate that noise(very simply & very to cheap fix)! Overall it is a great place to stay & great location ! Parking is charged @ $30 per day and there is an area that is only 1.9mtrs (can’t park in those areas if you have a van (or tall vehicle) and some areas are at 2.0mtrs but would be a good idea to allocate bigger spots for larger vehicles only as it’s very tight to get bigger vehicles in!

Location was very convenient for our gathering. The room was pretty standard motel +, but clean and everything was in good order. The beds are a bit too soft for my taste.

Sound proofing was OK but not great - I could hear the guy in the next room snoring. My room overlooked the pool, the second night a group of drunk men went for a swim at 3am which was very disruptive. I presume the pool is not meant to be used at that time, but the night shift on reception made no attempt to stop them that I could detect.

This location is hard to beat...very easy to get on public transport to go any direction, coffee shops and restaurants, as well as a Woolies and dress shops, just around the corner. The staff are very helpful, and friendly. We have family in the are,so this will always be our accommodation choice.

The rooms are a bit " tired ", but we were only there to sleep so that did not detract from our stay . The bathroom has been updated, .

We experienced a welcoming check in and very comfortable room with a street outlook. We could open our windows to let in fresh air rather than rely on the (very effective) Air Conditioner which I appreciate. The foyer of the facility smelt like a lovely and refreshing green tea. We were able to securely park 2 cars on this visit. We loved our very late, light lunch with vino around the corner at Doc on Lygon Street. Had a great time!

No improvements recommended on our stay!

Hotel was in a great locations, close to dining and shopping in Carlton and also convenient to the city. The staff were very friendly and very helpful. Onsite parking is a must for me and there was adequate parking, which was secure.

Property is a little dated and room seemed small for the price. There was no hotel information in the room and so I was unsure of what the restaurant had to offer. Subsequently, I went out in the rain to find breakfast.

Was very clean and ready for us. The 24 hour reception meant that we could get there anytime and not have to worry about being there by a certain time to check in. Really good location to close to the CBD!

The pillows for me weren’t that great, either had ones to soft or to hard no in between. And when I used to it was way to high. The toilet to take a number 2 there was very little space. My knees were touching the basin cabinet. Other than that was a great room

The staff were delightful. Location was central with great access to transport. Facilities were brilliant. Clean room. Comfy beds.

Staying with my child, I didn't really like having window access to the walkway. We couldn't open curtains for natural light, but as it wasn't enough light the interior light was still needed which allows people to see through sheer curtains. Not to mention the noise through windows. And I just didn't particularly like having the windows directly onto hallway area while staying with my child
