Mount Royal Hotel

Comfy bed and decent shower.

The upstairs bar was lacking any atmosphere, could have had some music & better drink choice. Weird setup. Also hard to find, very strange layout. Surprised breakfast wasn't included given the price. Bathroom door didn't lock / close properly and no light in the bedroom !?

The room was beautiful and modern, very spacious. It had nice features like a water kettle, coffee machine, and giant fridge. The staff were very nice to leave a card and bottle of prosecco for my partner's birthday as well! The hot tub was a really lovely experience overlooking the sunset behind the mountains. The hotel was also in the perfect location, right on the main street in Banff next to anything you'd need.

The walk from the lobby to the wing we were in was pretty long and a bit confusing. Also, we were initially given details for the wrong room, so we were trying to enter someone else's! Had to walk alllllll the way back to the lobby to get the right keys, only to be told it was the wrong room number they'd given us.

Loved the rooftop hot tub. Rooms were modern and clean. Location is phenomenal. Parking was great for us.

The staff was just okay. Housekeeping knocked on the door at 9:00 am. We were still sleeping. We left the room at 10:30 and expected they would try again at a later time. They did not We did not have the do not disturb sign on our door but when we got back at 4 pm our room was not cleaned and we could not get housekeeping to return. They offered to empty garbage but we declined. We wanted a freshly made bed, and a tidy room when we returned from a long day of touring. In the past, housekeeping would return to rooms where occupants slept in to see if they had left before packing up and going home.

Modern and fresh rooms, a little on the small size for 3 people. Close the the centre of town and parking on site. Great to have laundry available for guests to use. The staff were very helpful, I left something behind and they organised it to be shipped to me.

The vibe in the bar dining area was not very welcoming, needs to have better music, make it a more friendly and relaxed vibe. They changed their room servicing policy, but didnt tell us about it at check in. Our room wasnt servcied because we didnt place a request servcie sign on our door- the opposite of what all other hotels do.

I’ve stayed at the Mount Royal many times. The front desk staff is always friendly and helpful. The room service is impeccable and the room attendant are very friendly and always say hello or good morning when I pass them in the hallways. I love this facility, its staff and the location. I plan on coming back many more times in the future.

Occasionally there is some noise within the hotel, like people stomping around loudly above the room, but I’m sure there’s not much that can be done about unruly late night guests.

Great location! Shuttle to ski resorts picks up in the parking lot behind the hotel. We used the rooftop hot tubs every day after skiing. All the best restaurants are in walking distance. We caught the Roam bus across the street to get to the Banff Gondola.

The pillows on the bed could be more comfortable. They weren't the usual bed pillows - smaller and very firm.

Hotel is in a great location in Banff. Our plan was to ski which we did each day, alternating between Ski Norquay (20mins), Sunshine (30mins) and Lake Louise (45mins). Close to restaurants, shuttle bus, coffee shops etc. Clothes washer/dryer was great to refresh our stuff after 4 days and before moving onto the next location. Easy free parking right beside hotel. Rooms were clean, decent size and served our needs well. Great value for money. Older hotel but the rooms were completely updated and everything was new and worked well.

Fab location on the Main Street in Banff, easy to walk to everything. Plenty of parking (although this did fill up quickly), loved the hot tubs on the roof for an evening dip and the attached restaurant is well rated, the food was nice. Overall a really nice stay just for one night in Banff

If we’re being SUPER picky the shower door was weird - no handle to close it from the inside, but that’s not a reason to not stay in this lovely hotel!

Good shower, very clean bathroom, magnifying mirror appreciated. Also good to have a mini fridge in the room.

Room too warm at night. I turned down the heat setting but it was still too warm. The lobby, hallway, and elevator floors were very dirty. I understand it's difficult with people tracking in stuff from outside but it was pretty bad. I found the reservation process confusing. I also book straight through a hotel's website but the Mount Royal sent me to booking.com which I did not like.

The location was perfect! And I loved that they helped make the room special for my newlywood son and his wife. I also love how modern and clean the rooms are and would prefer that type of ambience over Banff Springs or Rimrock Hotel any day! way better value for the price and super central in the heart of Banff and walking distance everywhere and great parking in the back of the hotel. The online staff were very friendly and very professional with their customer service in getting back to my messages in a very timely manner. This is the best spot and hotel in all of Banff!
