Hotel Rialto

It was a really good experience staying at The Rialto Hotel. Nice facility with restaurant and bar, well decorated, large room and bathroom, absolutely nice staff and an incredible location in the city. The only reason I'm not giving them 10 is because of the lack of parking. The nearest garage is in the next block, not too far, not too close either. Besides that, I would definitely recommend.

The lack of parking is a downer. From 8pm to 8am you can park on the streets for free though, if you find a spot, otherwise, private garage is your next bet, with plenty of space and some walking.

Room was clean, bedsheets smelt fresh, shower was good.

It was rather overpriced. Room was extremely small and basic. Front desk receptionist was polite but not exceptional. No breakfast was offered for the price paid. Parking was a real pain. You have to park temporarily outside to check in. This space is small and is often unavailable. Then you have to park underground in a building across the street. But I realize that Victoria is like that. So, generally speaking, hotels in Victoria are a pain to stay in, insofar as parking is concerned. They are also rather expensive.

the staff was very nice and accommodating. the location had great security and I felt safe staying there. rooms were a good size. the complimentary drinks and a sack was a nice touch. location was good but if you don’t like walking it might be a little far from some of the attractions ( I didn’t mind too much, as I like to walk ). beds were super comfy.

Even though the room had AC we felt it could even be a little cooler. We stayed in the winter but in the summer I could imagine the room being still a little warm. bathroom is a good size but the blow drier was pretty much useless. “city view” is a little misleading when you are viewing a red brick wall and not much else.

Very dignified, exquisite, Italian decor. Very friendly, helpful people at the Reception Desk. Including a very charming lady from Ecuador and all the others. Good location, ten minutes walk to the waterfront. The hotel was built by an Italian expat; he turned the place into a real pearl. Try to book a room on the fourth floor. We were in room 407. It's quieter up there than downstairs. The bar and restaurant are also very dignified and inviting. Everything is perfect. Thank you. HH and BMH, Switzerland

Everything was great. We've stayed at this hotel before and will stay again. It's in a great location, centrally located to great restaurants. The room has everything you need, is laid out very well, and the bed and pillows are comfortable. We enjoyed the shortbread with our coffee. The staff are friendly and helpful.

The room was too hot and we weren't sure if there was air conditioning like we are used to in the states. The room was usually in the high 70s, which was too hot for us.

The staff was very friendly and helpful! The room was very clean! The location was good. We appreciated the tea, coffee and creamer in the room and , the shortbread was tasty too!

Our bed was not comfortable. We both had back aches and difficulty sleeping. We are used to sleeping on a Tempurpedic, firmer mattress. The room was noisy due to loud seagulls outside our window during the early hours of the morning. We understand this is nature, but these birds were so noisy!

Everything was great except the dining options.

it was Christmas Day and we made reservations at the restaurant. The only 2 options on the menu were turkey dinner and a vegetarian option, which neither were appealing. We had the turkey which was way to much food. Everything on the plate tasted similar and not to my taste. A salad/appetizer and dessert were included in the meal which made it overpriced. Most of my meal was wasted. We wanted to stay in the lounge and have some appetizers instead but they only had one option on the menu due to Christmas, and too small.

Concierge (Miya) was very welcoming and made the check-in / out process really enjoyable. Great to have a bit of conversation when travelling solo. Location is walking distance to everything downtown. Rooms are large and updated, very comfortable. Drinks and snack in room are complimentary.

No plugs at bedside table. Need new clocks as these are made to have old iPods or something plug into them, no wifi or usb connection. For some reason both TVs where on and loud when I got to my room - most hotels they are off so is a calmer entry. No fans in bathrooms.

The staff went above and beyond for me during my stay. I booked the wrong nights by accident and they changed for me with no issue or extra charge. I also sadly lost the diamond from my ring and they helped me search every inch of my room, the lobby, and called the maintenance guy to take the sink apart. They really did everything they could for me and helped with a terrible situation. I would stay at this hotel any time in the future based on this and recommend to anyone! Location was great and room was clean.

The room has been updated. Unlike a lot of hotels there are plenty of places to put your stuff unlike other places. There is a microwave, fridge and lavazza coffee maker. Perfect. The bed is very comfortable. The location is downtown and within walking distance of many places. The staff at the hotel are excellent t. They do go above and beyond and certainly have that personal touch. The Rialto is our go to place in Victoria.

Once again the towels could be thicker and the extra blanket provided to go on the bed needs to be replaced.
