Super 8 by Wyndham Winnipeg West

I booked this hotel in error as I thought I booked at a different hotel (I travel quite a bit for work). I was very pleasantly surprised. It is clean, the staff is stellar and the amenities are top notch.

The hotel is situated right on Portage avenue and so in the morning I woke to road noise (I am a light sleeper). A room on the other side of the building would have been better for me. The hot food options at the breakfast were limited and did not appear to very appealing.

Although the facility was close to the highway, gas stations, and businesses, it was quiet, very well maintained and staffed, up to date, and the room extremely clean, notwithstanding that it was a "pet" room. Good beds and bedding, good shower, big TV, great coffee, etc. The best of my several stays at Super 8s across the country. While I might hesitate to recommend some other Super 8s, especially in the East, no hesitations about Winnepeg West.

Carpeting in hallways is hard to keep clean and maintain; I would use tile or wood in hallways, despite the noise issue. (The room had faux wood floors)

By far the best fitness I’ve seen in a non high end hotel. Free slushies and tea/coffee is great. 24 hour front desk unusual for chain hotel. better than average use of small rooms with nice pictures and lots of Kuerig coffee. Huge TV with great reception and lots of choices. very accommodating check in staff. Designer soap and shampoo in shower is nice. wifi works well. Breakfast area is properly sanitized with plastic around bread and other safety measures

Spa is closed for maintenance which is not reasonable for summer season. acoustics make neighbor noise a problem throughout the property. Rooms are quite small.

Nicely remodeled room......love the hardwood floors.......much easier to see if they are clean especially in the pet rooms.......comfortable beds....lots of pillows.......staff was awesomeness.......updated kurig coffee maker......fridge.......and really good restaurants close by........would stay here again .....oh and a really good breakfast......real bacon ....no gray sausage........

Nothing really......without nitpicking

Our first stay ever at a Super 8, and it was pretty good (especially for the price). The decor was updated and there was definitely effort put forward to provide a warm and welcoming experience. Check-in staff was super.

Breakfast was kind of strange given the Covid restriction/measures, but it was fine and I realize the limitations with the restrictions. Still there were lots of carb options, fruit and eggs with a host of lovely tea and hot beverage options; great value really.

At a very prime location just by the highway and on the main city road at the west end. All the restaurants and gas stations are at an arms distance. Rooms were clean and tidy. Actually exceeded the expectations and the value that we paid for. Staff was courteous as well. One of the locations which offers pancakes for breakfast. Ample of parking.

Nothing as much to not like.

Room was very clean, check in was easy and front desk was nice. Hot shower, lots of towels. Coffee and tea and breakfast are complimentary. Banana pecan bread at breakfast is awesome.

Location is close to the highway so theres some shifty characters wandering around the parking lot. Breakfast was free so it is what it is.

I enjoyed talking with staff, having someone asking how my day has been. When I asked for anything, breakfast, days of room to be cleaned. Safety in parking lot with security working outside and inside.

I didn't like the state of the carpet on the stairs and the hallway to rooms. It was showing areas of getting worn by heavy traffic. I believe cleaners were doing their best, but still showing traffic.

I appreciate that breakfast continues to be included along with the later evening drink/soup option. I really like the set-up of the efficiency suite, and it's close to the location I'm visiting.

I really liked the option of the prepackaged hard boiled eggs from last summer and would love to see them return as an available option (as opposed to a complete replacement of the cooked eggs).

location was great, priced well, liked the breakfast. close to grocery store, fast food and Walmart

rooms were very small, thin walls so you can hear doors shutting and people talking as they go by your room. this made my mornings difficult to sleep in. the elevator was broken as well
