Le Germain Hotel Toronto

I loved it here. They nailed what I consider the 3 most important things: bed, shower and storage. The bed and pillows were very comfy. We were in a king. The decor is beautiful. The room was very thoughtfully designed to accommodate all the items that guests bring and use- there were 2 closets, roomy counters, drawers, hooks, a shelf for luggage, a shelf in the shower. A place for everything. It’s amazing how many hotels don’t get this right. There were many thoughtful added touches that I don’t normally see, like a full size umbrella, robes, wine glasses, a kettle for tea drinkers in addition to the coffee pot. The shower was amazing!! Spacious, full water pressure, hot, with handheld or rainfall. The customer service was excellent too. Always smiling and willing to help. The location was great. We were within walking distance to CN tower, the harbor front, scotiabank arena. There are plenty of restaurants and shops in the surrounding blocks.

Note for those who like a pitch black room: The window blinds are well made and do a good job of blocking light, but a little light comes in around the sides and through the holes where the cords run through.

The overall ambience of the hotel was great! Staff was very helpful and friendly, accommodating special requests we had and offered recommendations for top food spots around. Very comfortable bed. The location couldn't be better from everything we wanted to see. A quick 5 minute walk or less to CN tower, theatres, rogers centre, etc. Nice little hotel bar/resturant as well offered.

A bit pricy for parking/valet service. As well as construction going on all around hotel that did cause noise being made pretty early in the morning starting around 6-6:30am.

Central downtown location with very easy access to the Lake, restaurants, shops, airport, city attractions. Modern, contemporary design. Staff are very welcoming and helpful. We had a King Classic Suite on the 8th floor as we wanted a separate seating and desk area. Very quiet despite the construction in the area. The bathroom is fabulous: large walk-in shower, separate toilet, complimentary toiletries, clean and nice smelling. The bed area / lounge, desk area divider unit and the bed unit are very well designed and modern: lots of hanging and storage space, TV on each side, bar fridge, coffee/tea/ drinks area etc etc. Liked the Nespresso machine.

No separate light in the bathroom / toilet. A night light / curtesy light would REALLY be appreciated. I am amazed that this is not thought of when designing a hotel or guest house bathroom. Just a dimmer switch would do the job! Otherwise one has to use a cell phone torch or screen light during the night to avoid disturbing a partner / room mate. The room is dark due to the dark wood furniture and dark carpet. Bottom sheet not fitted. Duvets too bulky and hot for me. As the temperature in the room can be controlled, a heavy duvet is not required. A duvet choice would be nice. I asked for a light duvet but it was not provided. A Brita water filter jug would be a nice addition ......or a filtered water station on the floor. If an Ice Station is provided, why not a filtered water station?

I thought the dinner was excellent along with the service. I also enjoyed the location that was very close to restaurants and tourist locations. The rooms were very clean and trendy. The staff was very helpful

The room keys were not working properly. So that could be improved. Although there is construction it may be inconvenient if I was driving but that was not the case for me.

The staff was super nice. We were able to check in early and out late and they accommodated us. Location is great - lots of restaurants, convenience stores, etc. nearby. The shower is top tier and the bed pretty comfy.

A little pricey and some of the furnishings in the room are dated.

The breakfast was delicious but overpriced. I stayed for 3 nights and should have received free breakfast at least one day. I loved the room, very comfortable.

The room had very poor lighting especially due to construction I had no view and could not even open my blinds as there was another building right infront of my room window.

The location was perfect for our visit. Fairly close to train station. Very close to family and other sight-seeing options.

Building work opposite hotel was a bit noisy with a 6am start. Not the hotel's fault but maybe a reduction in the room rate for the inconvenience would have been nice. The breakfast was ok, but a little over-priced.

The hotel is great and in a convenient location downtown however with the neighboring construction, it was pretty noisy in the mornings/during the day. Not the fault of the hotels, so will probably stay again once the construction nearby is complete.

it felt cosy and the staff were so friendly. I’ve stayed in many TO hotels and some can feel huge and impersonal- with snooty staff. This hotel felt more personal like a boutique hotel and the staff were really genuine and nice

don’t let’s the construction work across the street put you off. the hotel felt like a hidden gem in a busy city

Very clean room, staff extremely friendly and helpful, hotel itself was beautiful (the bar looked very nice as well).

Downside was that there was construction taking place across our room - which we were not notified about. Very noisy as from 6 AM until late at night. Hotel could have informed us in advance about this atleast.
