Hotel Regatta Cartagena

Giant rooms! We travelled with two couples. We got one room where the bathoom was renovated, and one where it wasn't yet. But both were fine. The rooms are enourmous, and the bed is huge and very comfy. The 2 rooftop pools are small, but nice, though a bar up there would have been even better.

Only two elevators, used by both staff and customers. This means long waiting times at the elevators with 23 stories. The breakfast is not bad but not great either, and with a full hotel we sometimes had to wait to get a free table for breakfast. On a personal note, I am a fire saftey engineer, and I did not find this hotel very safe. There are two elevators and a central open spiral staircase. but I could not find any emergency staircases in the building. None of the rooms have self sealing doors. Meaning in case of fire the elevators can't be used, and the central staircase becomes a giant chimney filled with smoke and unsuitible for evacuation....

Traveled to cartegena with my husband for a four night vacation. This hotel was great because it was right on the beach and has two roof top pools that were hardly used by other guests. Beautiful sunset views. Overall, I would recommend because it was a great hotel! Just be aware that it is a few miles from the center of town so we took multiple Ubers a day back and forth.

We were on the 4th floor facing the ocean, which was great except for the loud music/ traffic coming from the party buses at night. The bed was also not very comfy. The wifi wasn’t great. Also, the elevators were very slow and hot. Probably the worst part of the experience. The hotel was 20 floors and many times the elevators would be too full with staff to accommodate and we would walk up/ down to the 4th floor.

- The incredible view from our 22nd floor. - Hot shower. - The room was perfect and loved the conditioner that smells like coconut and makes the hair soft. - The beach just opposite the hotel was not overcrowded like many other beaches. It was more peaceful. What's more, a long stretch of the beach was closed due to work, but not the hotel beach.

- The breakfast. It was very poor and you were not allowed to serve yourself. We ended up staying 4 nights in total, but went only once for breakfast (although it was included) . You eat much better outside. - The staff is nice but with very little knowledge of English. It makes communication hard. We used mostly Google translate. - No shower head in the shower.

The staff was amazing, very accommodating and friendly, they really made this place! The room was big and the A/C was cold and the bed and linen good. Nice pools and great breakfast. Nice beach across the road.

The room value is not what you would expect from a four star hotel, but you have to remember that you are in Colombia and the stars are different here than in the states. The cleanliness was questionable, and the room needs some repairs

The location was tremendous and a few specific members of the staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. It's very easy to access everything both in Bocagrande and in the nearby Old City from here.

We were here during Fall Break, a time when many people and families go away. The management should have known this would be a busy time and have the staff ready. The hotel was very understaffed our first 3 or 4 days there and I blame management's lack of preparation for what they knew would be a busy time.

Extremely clean room, and the beach was right outside the doors. The entire staff were so helpful and pleasant. couldn’t ask for a better place to stay. I can’t say enough about how great the staff was and the breakfast was the best food compared to any of the restaurants we ate at. I would and will recommend the Regatta to anyone who wants a very pleasant time in Cartagena.

I honestly can’t say anything bad about the property.

I loved the staff the people at the front desk and the people at the dining room. The breakfast was great every day. Our room had a beautiful view of the beach I had a suite with two rooms and always VERY CLEAN.

The mattresses could be better.

Very close proximity to the beach. The staff are always amazing and accommodating with anything you need. The breakfast in the morning are exceptional. Also have had lunch and dinner there and the food is always wonderful top notch.

Beds could be a little more comfortable

Across from the beach, minutes away from Centro Historico, when amazing restaurants and awesome cafes and bars are located. Staff is incredible, welcoming and super friendly.

A bit outdated hence the awesome deals. No worries, it's clean, comfortable and everything works beautifully

The room was spacious and very clean.

The complimentary breakfast was subpar and there were delays with the elevator due to construction on numerous floors.
