Casa Claver Loft Boutique Hotel

The location of the hotel is perfect - in the Old Town and close to all the key attractions. We had a room on the roof terrace which gave us near-exclusive use of the pool and lots of outdoor space.

We were initially given a room whose only window gave directly on the hotel lobby space. It would have meant a room without a window - for six days! Luckily we were changed to a great room. The breakfasts are pre-prepared - for no reason I can understand, so that the hot part of the meal is cold. Breakfast is not served with honey or jam (just peanut butter!) and the four choices are joyless. The common space is very limited and in the room there is no desk where I could work. No glasses are provided in the room (aside from two champagne flutes) and the water is available either in the mini-bar or purchased in town. This seems an unnecessary limitation for a hotel of this category.

The rooftop terrace was nice. The pool was nice. Our room was huge. Nice balcony with vegetation. We had breakfast brought to our room every morning. Location was good.

The cleaning staff did not do a complete cleaning job. We only had one wine glass. There should always be two. I took the last kleenex on the first day and it was never replenished. The used towels in the bathroom were never gathered or even touched by the cleaning staff. The bathroom was nice. However the little ledge where the toilet was can be very dangerous. My husband almost smashed his face into the shower glass. Just saying.

I stayed in apartment 302. Huge room, separate living/sleeping/dining rooms, huge closet, great bathroom, high ceilings and a very nice balcony. There's a full kitchen that hides behind folding doors a full-size washer and dryer. It's like staying in a small condo building that's fully service (attended lobby/concierge and housekeeping). The building has been thoughtfully modernized with very nice to luxurious finishes throughout. GREAT location that's a half block in from the busier streets.

They did provide a full breakfast but there isn't 24 hour room service.

We had a great stay with the Casa Claver family. The location can't be beat. Right in the middle of everything in the historic area. The hotel is well kept and the staff are exceptional. James, Benjamin, Luz, Camilla, and the entire staff were super. Yummy breakfasts delivered at the exact time. We asked our hosts to make arrangements for various things including Covid testing, hair stylists, tours, clothes steaming, etc. All done promptly and with a smile. We'll be back.

Great location and the rooftop pool is absolutely stunning and offers great views! Rooms are well maintained and the property is very clean. Beds were also super comfortable!

We had the room on the ground floor near the swimming pool and it was very noisy. We could hear the cleaning ladies in the late night / early morning and every guest that would enter or leave the hotel throughout the night / morning. The staff didn't have much information about the area / things to do and didn't seem super hospitable. Overall, I feel it is a bit overpriced for what you get (especially in a country where hotel prices are relatively low).

loved the service given by Benjamin and Camila there service was excellent and the views from roof top and breakfast the balcony breakfast was wonderful

our room was ridiculously small no room for two and the room was alone on roof top area even though it was a great views you could tell the room was made from a storage of some sorts and everyone came to that area to party the noise was ridiculous also no bathrooms in public area so you are forced to run up stairs to use rest room

some rooms within accommodation didn’t have A/c; construction noise; occasional loud music but understandable. bedroom within my particular accommodation had a/c blowing on my bed (me) while I attempted to sleep (I had to block the vent)

The location of Casa Claver was fantastic and the staff was lovely. Room was large and the rooftop pool was relaxing. The breakfast can be delivered to your room and there are many options to choose from. The location felt safe and I'd recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Cartagena.

So many great things about Casa Claver! Spacious rooms, sparkling clean. Felt very safe with the Covid precautions. Location, laundry, pool, breakfast all perfect. James went above and beyond to help us.

No complaints! Really. We stayed 9 nights, traveled as a family for a wedding. None of us spoke Spanish, just a few words, but that was never a problem.

James and the entire staff went above and beyond to make our stay extra special. From tips on restaurants (James has all the best spots) to getting around the area, their helpfulness was superior. The loft we stayed at was the best in the property, although we saw several other lofts and they all were unique and exquisite. The rooftop pool area is magnificently designed, taking complete command of the space available. Bathroom and kitchen on the roof was also a bonus. Cheers to whomever designed this property. From top to bottom it was perfect. Great location, right across from the pier where most excursions leave from. The local salesmen and saleswomen can become bothersome while walking around, but we're accustomed to that from traveling the world. After a day or so, they recognize you and leave you alone.

I didn't like that we didn't stay longer. This establishment is top 5 in my history of traveling the world, and I've been in over 30 countries and on 5 continents.
