Amazing hosts and a beautiful establishment. We felt relaxed and welcome from the moment we walked in. The house itself looks very beautiful and the interior is very tasteful and interesting. Our room was clean and comfortable. The effort of house keeping and maintaining the high standard of hospitality were very apparent. Most noteworthy is the hospitality and the breakfast that was offered at the property. We absolutely loved the sweet but healthy breakfast that was prepared fresh every day. We did not try out the dinner from Samantha, but we are sure that won’t dissapoint either.

If there is one thing we’d prefer to see different, it’s the door to the bathroom that was attached to our bedroom. It was seperated from the bedroom with 2 saloon doors. The toilet room was attached to the bathroom, but only shielded with a curtain. This, in our opinion, offered a bit of a lack in privacy.

If we could, we would give Samantha and Philippe (and Scott) more than 10/10!! First of all, they were very friendly and made us feel very welcome. They did their outmost to make our stay a fantastic experience. We stayed two nights. The first night we had diner in Dinan, in a restaurant they recommended and it was so nice. The second evening we had Table d'hôtes in the beautiful garden of La Meffrais and enjoyed it very very very much! The breakfasts served at the terras were absolutely splendid. A very good start of the day! The room was beautiful, and the garden and manor were absolutely amazing! We can't wait to visit them again! :)

La Meffrais is a beautiful manor house, and the modern updates in the bathroom are really well done. The hotel is on a lovely property with a fenced garden and comfortable outdoor space. We loved our big beautiful room and comfy bed. the breakfast and table d’hôte were fresh and delicious, and they had a small but nice wine list.

The walls are very thin and we could hear other guests very clearly in our room, including full conversations and walking around in some of the upstairs spaces. It was not made clear to us in advance that no outside food or drinks are allowed in the hotel and it was quite inconvenient for us to manage. we were on a wine tasting trip through France and we were not able to drink the wine we had bought in our room, or even bring in sodas or leftover car snacks from road-tripping. we actually had to pour out a bottle of wine because we didn’t have time to drink it after leaving the hotel and catching our flight with only carry on luggage. The hotel’s location is remote so the dinner meal requires some planning if they are not serving at the restaurant and you can’t bring in your own food.

We felt right at home in this splendid property in the countryside. If you want peace and quiet and fresh air next to wheat fields and free-roaming horses, this is where you should stay. The room was tastefully decorated. The sheets and towels were new and the bed was very comfortable. Best of all was the delicious breakfasts served by a very friendly and informative couple who live here and treated us as family. We would recommend you to make early reservations.

Beautiful house lots of charm, character and history. The owners were charming, extremely helpful in advising where to eat an evening meal as the dinner was not available at the time we booked. Breakfast was plentiful and tops up were offered. Stunning area, so worth a visit.

Whilst the price was quiet high the experience was well worth it. Finding the property was challenging, however that's my bad as I did not have Google Maps to follow and my satnav failed me. There was nothing we didn't dislike.

One of the tyres of our car got punctured in Dinan just a few kilometers to LA MEFFRAIS 1741, we decided to go to the place before the check-in time to ask for help. Thank you so much Philippe and Samantha for your great help, hospitality and very warm welcome. Without both of you, it would have been very difficult for us to resolve all the problems by ourselves. We spent one night here and we loved everything about it. The place was so well decorated. The guestroom and the bathroom were spacious, very clean and well equipped. The continental breakfast was so delicious ! especially the homemade apple juice and jam ! We also enjoyed taking pictures in the lovely garden.

We had an excellent experience at La Meffrais 1741. Located close to Dinan, Mont Saint Michel, Saint Malo or Dinard, it is perfect if you want to get the best of the area. The hosts (Samantha, Philippe and Scott) were absolutely amazing - sparing no expense in making sure we were pampered and well looked after. From an extremely comfortable room, to a very tasty breakfast and great foods and drinks - everything tied up in an unique experience. We highly recommend this place to anyone able to appreciate good taste and who knows how to live the good life but also to those who need a little R&R - and once again many thanks for everything!

There was absolutely nothing we would change there.

The manor, the rooms, and the location were excellent. You live in this beautifully renovated french manor. Samantha and Philipe speak English well. Also, I recommend the seafood platter and the vine that they have. Another thing that we liked is that unlike in most French bookings, you can choose breakfast that is not so sweet. Samantha can provide a variety of cheese and eggs. If you eat breakfast - ask for the homemade green tomato jam. It was delicious.

Very elegant property set in a private position. Samantha met us at the gate and was the most convivial host, as was her partner Phillipe. Very nice bedroom and the house was beautifully furnished. Samantha had pre booked us a restaurant in Dinan, The Cantorbery, which I can highly recommend. Lovely breakfast in the morning too. If I’m in the area again I’d definitely return to this hotel.

We loved everything about this amazing place and the host. The day we stayed was my birthday and the host really made me day special. The room and the house is so beautiful, very clean and enjoyable with a wonderful garden. We had a great breakfast and aperitivo. We want to go back next year to spend our holidays in this amazing mansion. Highly recommended if you want to enjoy real Brittany.
