Hôtel Astoria

Very friendly staff, room was perfect, there was even little biscuits in the room which I wasn't expecting and it was such a lovely touch to have an arrival gift. Perfect location. I would highly recommend this hotel and will definitely book again next time I have a late flight arriving in Nantes.

I absolutely loved my stay at the hotel but if I have to give some areas of improvement I would say: - The shower was an open shower and that led to a lot of flooding in the bathroom. It would be great to have a shower broom available in the room to help make it dryer faster. - The coffee from the coffee machine for breakfast wasn't nice at all. It would have been better to make a pot of fresh filtered coffee available instead of a machine. The cappucino really tasted like water.

Great location near station, château, Jardin des Plantes and Art Gallery. Pedestrianised street, beside tramway. Room was small, but modern and well-designed. Bathroom and shower very good. Temporary record store in part of the lobby was cool. Good breakfast, kept topped up until late. All staff very pleasant and helpful.

Hard to spot hotel from the station. Very narrow frontage. But fine once you enter. Bigger entrance at the back. Room was small. WiFi was good, but didn't work in the lobby area.

Friendly welcome at reception. Good breakfast. Comfortable bed. Very convenient for the train station and the local tram stop, and was surprisingly quiet despite that! Short walk from the Chateau des Ducs de Bretagne. The Jardin des Plantes (Botanic Gardens) is only five minutes or so's walk away, and is a nice place to spend a relaxing hour or two if the weather is kind.

The lift was very compact... it could only accommodate one person plus luggage at a time, really. Other than that minor point, all was good.

slightly difficult getting into the parking area as there is a bollard in the road with a help button but no answer. we phoned the hotel who said it was run by a private garage and could only suggest we used a public carpark instead, despite the parking reserved in advance. in the end we waited for a local with a pass to enter and we tailgated them. Not ideal. the hotel v apologetic said we were not the first to have probkems.

The room was nice with comfortable bed and pillows, but it had a strange chemical smell coming from the curtains or the carpet (opening the window solved the problem). The staff was ok. The location is the main reason to choose this hotel if you want to stay close to the train station. You can leave the luggage in a storage room and explore the city.

It wasn’t a dislike, just a query really - there was a kettle, cups and a selection of tea and coffee in the room (with biscuits) all good! But there was no milk…phoned reception, no answer, went down to reception to ask about milk, no one around to ask. Therefore, not sure if this hotel provides milk or not - would be good to know in advance.

Location ok but be prepared to walk. Breakfast ok but simple. Parking good and secure.

Finding the hotel. Not easy as you come off the main road. You need to stop your car on a pedestrian walkway. Then you have to enter a code and speak with the receptionist. Very easy to drive past. Use Google earth before you go to familiarise yourself.

Located near train station. Handy to get to the tram system and other tourist locations. Breakfast was good. Staff were accommodating and helped with storage of luggage on early arrival.

Had some difficulty accessing the lift system. But OK once it was shown where it was and how to use it effectively.

Good location, comfortable beds, clean, rooms look nice, kettle in the room, terrace access, attentive and kind staff. Good for price.

Door didn’t lock with card so I was given key, lights didn’t work in the room, shower flooded because there was no door, cappuccino at breakfast tasted strangely like hot chocolate.

The hotel is situated just in front of the railway station and 10 minutes walk from the historical center. The hotel staff is very welcoming. The room is not small and I had nice terrace on the &st floor. The bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was spatious and well organized.
