L'Hôtel

The hotel looked nice and the staff was very friendly. Everything was clean and they only exchanged the towels we asked for during our stay. The breakfast was good. It included scrambled eggs, sausages and potatoes. It had air condition and a Private parking garage for a reasonable price and they accepted a reservation for it. The reception is 24/7. The hotel is next to the city centre so sight-seeing is very easy starting from the hotel.

The bathroom was separated by a curtain from the room. The toilet had its own room with door but the room was uncomfortable small. The wifi worked only sometimes in parts of the room that were around the door. Especially in the bed it was unreliable. The air condition was behind the curtain in the bathroom so the bathroom was cooler than the bedroom.

Finding the hotel was simple, just off the dual carriageway towards Ouistreham and then right into the town centre. The hotel was on the junction to the right. Strangely it has parking on both sides of the road, and this became clear when we checked in, as the room allocated dictates which car park to use. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was a good size with bottled water provided as part of the cost. The en-suite was a good size, with a great shower. The hotel location is a relatively short walk from one of key WWII locations, Pegasus Bridge captured by the Allied paratroopers to ensure access for the D-Day landings. I am glad we walked to the bridge, as it was quite busy when we arrived and parking would have proved difficult.

The car park was a bit tight to turn around and face outwards again, but its achievable.

We liked everything: a perfect location within walking distance to all main sights; a very well informed and gracious staff who gave us useful tips on parking, exhibits, itineraries and places to eat at reasonable prices.

There were no on-site parking spots when we arrived so had to go to a public parking near the cathedral. The cost, however, was about the same for a secure space, and it was only a few minutes walk from the hotel.

The location was perfect, right beside the castle and the botanical gardens. The complimentary sweets and magazine's were a nice touch. Also the fact they ordered us a taxi and allowed us to leave our bags there even after checking out was very nice. It was located in a nice relaxing area which meant you got a great sleep. View of the garden area was very picturesque. Everything you need was within walking distance.

The lighting in the room was poor. The hair dryer wasn't very strong and took a long time to dry your hair. The lay-out of the hotel was a bit confusing.

I come every year I have done many reviews, its very central it easy to get most places in Nantes the room view is amazing, the rooms are very decent size, the bed comfy and the best thing about the room is u get nice little bowl off sweets, the staff are very helpful and very kind and very welcoming every time I stay over and always meets my requests whenever I stay over even if it a late request!

the vintage design of the room, most importantly i did appreciate the niceness of the hotel’s stuff (big thanks to them)

During the night or even early in morning i could hear the noise ( conversation between the stuff, someone carrying a lather at 6 am..) coming from the outside, it did interrupt my sleep multiple times but anyway i guest this problem is specific to rooms located in the first floor where i stayed the night

The location was good. A short walk (less than 10 minutes) from the train station and near the cathedral, both rivers, fairground (when it's in town), buses and a tram line. The room was clean with a workstation and adequate plugs. Nice shower, and generally clean bathroom.

I didn't ask but would have like to have been informed about how connect to the wifi. I managed ultimately - it was pretty simple.

The hotel was ideally situated for exploring the city. The room were well equipped with modern furnishings. The air conditioning came in useful. There was also a garage for safe storage of our bikes. Staff were very helpful and efficient. A special thank you to Sharlene who helped us with our SNCF train booking.

Room lighting was a bit dim.

Excellent location, especially if you have a car, opposite the castle and very close to the old town. Staff on reception were extremely helpful and friendly. And a decent buffet breakfast to get the day off to a good start

Nothing really, though a more comfortable chair in the bedroom would have been a plus

Everything quite perfect. Very friendly and helpful staff, terrific breakfast, got a very silent room as requested. Beautiful room (booked superior double), clean and comfortable. Great location also. They even opened the breakfast buffet half an hour earlier for us, since we said we had to leave early. Summarizing: very good value for money, highly recommended!
