Grand Hotel de l'Opera - BW Premier Collection

Excellent location near The Capitole. Very good bar and restaurant on site. First rate, very responsive staff. Would very happily to stay here again.

The parking situation is a problem. The hotel informed us that there was a public underground parking garage right in front of the hotel. That's true but the issue is that it is often full. And driving in that part of Toulouse is not for the faint of heart. The traffic is just very tiresome. It would be better if the hotel were able to lease some spaces at a nearby garage or provide valet parking service for guests at least upon arrival. The hotel overall is very attractive but is showing its age. It could use a makeover in some of the public areas such as the elevator and in some of the rooms where the furniture has been bruised and nicked by intensive use.

Beautiful decor and furniture. Exceptionally clean in all areas. Outstanding service from the moment we walked in. The manager could not have better in any way, extremely helpful. On seeing my wife was on crutches he immediately offered and brought a chair for use in the wonderful shower room. Very comfortable room. We ate in the on site Brasserie and the food was stunningly good. We will definitely stay here again during our regular trips to Toulouse.

The clear plastic chairs in the breakfast room look cheap and out of place in such a quality hotel.

I love this place , it is always our first choice in Toulouse .The hotel must be well managed I think because the staff and service is excellent , always pleasant and helpful. The breakfast and service is very good also. Plenty of choice of continental options and hot food , with coffee served at the table not from a machine . The rooms are charming and the whole hotel has something of an old world charm . The location is of course great , directly on the Capitole square , however because the hotel is well set back one cannot hear the noise and bustle and surprisingly it is actually rather peaceful, and the common areas are really lovely for a quiet relaxing drink. Already looking forward to the next visit .

Old world ambience was just lovely with rich decorations throughout in keeping with the opera theme and history. Fabulous welcome from Alexander at reception and his recommendation of Chez Emile a Michelin star restaurant just 8 min walk was the best meal ( and well priced) we’d had in France .. and all our meals had been fabulous) The hotel is on the place du Capitole directly opposite the opera house and Capitole building which is lovely to explore. Arriving on a Saturday the square was alive with activity, plenty of cafes and avenues to wander in the largely pedestrianised area. We drove and entrance to public car park was in the square itself outside the hotel so very easy access and subsidised payment is made to the hotel - no problems at all except following Google maps can be tricky with one way or dead end little streets and oblivious tourists ( like us) crossing roads. Our room was quiet, generous in size with a fully renovated bathroom and comfortable bed, perfect location to walk or bike the city. Our favourite hotel so far - a kiwi traveller review June 2023

The room was spacious and to a high standard. Bed was very comfortable. Bathroom was a high spec. A perfect position to be on the square. We were not here long enough to have a real impression of the hotel but for one night no complaints.

I thought our arrival and greeting by the desk was poor. The 2 ladies seemed preoccupied and slow to greet us. However other staff and the gentleman at the desk later was much warmer and friendlier. Rather a sterile atmosphere in an obviously under used bar. However, we were there for only one night so cannot give a truly fair reflection of the hotel.

The Room, Location and Staff where very good.

Someone set off the fire alarm when using the shower with the door open and the steam escaping at 11.45pm one night. I asked reception to order a taxi to Toulouse Airport (without asking the price) and was charged €38 Euros for a journey that should have been half that price. I thought it strange seeing the meter with "35" on it plus below it another "3". Presumably the driver did not have a € sign by it so the customer would not complain before the journey.

the location of this hotel is absolutely perfect, no car needed, restaurants, shopping, tourist office all very close within walking distance. the staff was excellent and very helpful in helping us plan our days of visits.

access to the hotel is a bit tricky (important to follow the directions the hotel supplies and not just the address) dropping suitcases at front door was impossible (the alley was blocked off HOWEVER the staff was more than willing to help us unload our car at the end of the alley (it's safe) and bring them to the hotel reception.

The hotel was perfect for our needs, ie couple. Rooms were an excellent size and the reception and bar area very sumptuous. The Hotel does have it’s own restaurant but we like to go wondering. Lovely restaurant Le Bibent almost next door. Le Capitole is a beautiful square, that is always busy, plenty of restaurants for a leisurely breakfast, lunch or dinner. There is also a market on the square most days. It’s the home of the beautiful City Hall, and an excellent location for visiting anywhere in the city. Staff at the hotel were very welcoming and helpful. Excellent location for visiting anywhere in the centre.

Nothing! Loved the hotel and loved Toulouse.

This hotel is centrally located, clean and comfortable. We had booked two rooms for our family and upon arrival the hotel realized that one room was missing a third bed. This was quickly remedied by the hotel reception through the organization of a third room for us at no extra cost. The reception clerk also recommended a local restaurant for dinner, which was delicious.

Excelente experience! A delightful hotel, right in the middle of Toulouse, where one can easily access all the nice things to see around town. The hotel has a delightful old fashioned decoration, but with good taste. The rooms (we stayed in two rooms) are well decorated, with good size, very goog beds and very quiet. We enjoyed breakfast one day, good one, during the rest of the stay decided to go out for breakfast, not easy to find a good spot. The staff were all very warm and attentive, ready to help. Considering the price for 3 nights, 380 euros, I think this will be the first time I classify this hotel as a five star one!
