Hotel de la Gare Troyes Centre

Location of hotel, helpfulness/friendliness of staff. Briliant location for arrival by train and proximity to town centre for sightseeing and restaurants

bedroom and toilet were rather cramped. Fan provided was inadequate. No lift and very tight stairs. Parking availability greatly appreciated - however, as mentioned in other reviews, the underground parking was difficult to access from road outside and concrete columns for the 3 available hotel spaces were very difficult to negotiate even with a small car. Anything larger than a Seat Ibiza would have been impracticable. Would not suit nervous driver!

What's not to like about a hotel two minutes from the station. The staff were friendly and helpful and went out of their way to make my stay comfortable. The city centre is ten minutes walk away and is one of the most enchanting cities in France with much to see and do. The room was immaculately clean and it was great to throw open the windows with a view of a avenue of trees and a little park beyond, together with a war memorial decked with tricolores. Nighttime blackout was perfect and the shower was powerful. J'ai passé un excellent séjour.

There was nothing I didn't like.

This is out second visit to this hotel the location is great for the city centre being 5/10 min walk into the old town where the bars and restaurants are. The staff were extremely helpful, letting us park out motorbike in a secure area inside the hotel. The rooms are simply decorated and the bed very comfortable. Can recommend a stay here for a couple of nights on your way back to Uk or way out to the south.

The location was fantastic. It is an easy walk into the centre, and has nice shops and cafes nearby. The train station is very close, too. The room was comfy and the air conditioning was fantastic in the heat.

The shower door leaked profusely. There are very few parking spaces available. It is worth noting that parking needs to be reserved beforehand.

Friendly, great location, provided water and water spray on arrival as the temp was very hot. Air conditioning worked well and parking was provided if you reserved a space (although difficult to find!)

A lift would be helpful as we were top floor but in an old building that’s tricky. A fridge in the room would also have been a useful touch considering the heat

Good room, just functional. Front side, excellent soundproofing and good airco. Very friendly and helpful staff. I really liked the breakfasts: fresh orange juice, good breads, yochurts, dried fruits, eggs. Good place to store away my bicycle safely. And very conveniently located.

The carpet in my room was old, stained, and did not fit with the rest of the room.

A great hotel close to the city centre, with parking. A lovely lady on reception, who helped us as we had parked in the wrong carpark, and then showed us where to go. Also provided a map and highlighted whereto find restaurants and shops. Rooms were nice size, with air con and nice bathrooms and showers.

A quiet place 100 m from the railway station and within easy walking distance from the wonderful medieval centre

I was placed in a room on the second floor, narrow stairs. This is the only reason for the medium "comfort" grade. I have stayed there before on the ground level which was excellent.

Stayed at this hotel many times as we have travelled through France. Rooms are a decent size and well decorated. Good choice of food at breakfast. Short walk into the town centre, with several bars and restaurants. Nice area to visit.

Although the rooms were well decorated, the corridor areas were looking a little tired this year.

The room was very large as was the bathroom. We had a double aspect so could open the doors at both sides to get good ventillation, there was also a fan. The area was quiet when we were there but there appears to be a lot of construction/demolition in the area so may be noisy during the week day. Short walk to the centre and the buffet breakfast was better than expected. We were able to put our motorbikes in the locked courtyard to the rear of the building free of charge which was great. It was easy to find and access was quick.

The room was dated (pretty orange) with no air con and the shower was over the bath with no cubicle or curtain. The area looks a little rough. We would book again though. No lift but stairs OK for our room, not too steep.
