ALCATRAZ Hotel am Japanischen Garten

The hotel is really cool and I like how they kept some of the old prison features. I had a small room which was perfect for my short stay. The room provided everything I needed and I appreciated the breakfast. Parking was easy, too.

The hotel lists WIFI as an amenity, but does not work in the rooms. This was a bit of a bummer for me with some work I needed to do in the evening. Luckily I was able to use my own mobile hotspot, but I would have preferred to use the hotel's WIFI. It wasn't a big deal, but would have been good to know in advance.

Comfortable bed, interesting locale. Good breakfast, free parking in the downtown area of Kaiserslautern. Well priced for all that is offered. Nice staff!

Community shower located down the hall, damaged shower hoses and shower heads that sprayed everywhere. Each room has a toilet and sink integrated into the sleeping area. No air conditioning, no wifi in the rooms (the hotel is a converted prison with thick walls, steel doors and bars on the windows, so this was not a surprise).

It was memorable due to it’s past. Once you got to city center it was nice. The rooms were very clean.

Location was only fair. Information center at train station really didn’t know where it was. Breakfast was just ok. The rooms were very small.

Great free breakfast. Excellent value for the money. Cool motif. Best way to stay in a fake prison and check out the next day.

Noisy hallway sounds leak into the rooms.

The location was great. Staff was friendly. The bedroom was overall comfortable, and the badroom well equiped. The breakfast was great.

There was no internet connection in the room, and the showers were shared but not private. Also, it was a challenge to get into the top bunk.

A unique experience. You can choose the cell if you travel alone or a proper, nice room, if you travel as a family. All the staff was very nice and helpful. We took a lot of cool pictures to show our friends :)

Perhaps my favourite hotel in Kaiserslautern. Staff and Rooms and Facilities were terrific. Solidly-good breakfast. It's a fun place to stay and very comfortable with easy parking on premesis.

The "cell room" a unique touch. The check in was easy and comfortable,

no WIFI in the room, however, it was explained to me that the old walls are very thick and hence no signal

The hotel was recommended by friends and it was exactly as advertised. Best bed we slept in in our travel this time. Clean and immaculate Loved it.
