Hotel BIG MAMA Leipzig

Convenient location near historical center and railway station, large room in neat condition with good bathroom, friendly staff, not bad breakfast though always the same one. Always clean. Excellent value for the money.

No air conditioning, which is a major drawback in summer. But you can ask for vent. Only one elevator and it can take time to wait but there is a staircase available. And I disliked the shape of pillows, very uncomfortable for my taste. Also though the location is very convenient, facing railway station the street itself is very unpleasant. Plus sometimes train noise can be heard if you open the window (which you would because otherwise air can be quite oppressive, at least in summer).

Location was great for travellers. They say it's 3 minutes to the station but it seemed way less. Very friendly staff! The room was way bigger than expected, proper light-blocking curtains, big comfy bed, extra pillows, covers and towels in the room - big plus. Breakfast was also quite good, very good coffee, but lacking in the bread and baked goods department.

I was disappointed with the furniture of the room, other than the bed and the big mirror. There was only one plastic chair (it was a double room) and one single shelf for clothing, not even enough for just one person. For one night it was fine but for a longer stay not at all... There was free water in the room, which is great - unfortunately no tea kettle. Only downsides.

The staff was amazing, super nice and also available during the nighttime. The bar is also open at night so you can have a drink or a coffee ☕ The lobby area was very cozy and they provided free ice cold water in the warm weather and apples which was very thoughtful. The hotel is very close to the train station, and is super convenient when you arrive late. The windows are very good for soundproofing so when they are close you don't hear the trains/cars outside.

The elevator was a little slow so I took the stairs after putting my suitcase, also good for exercise ;) The road around the central train station area is under construction but it is not a big problem and is managable since it is not a very busy road.

The location very close to the main railway station is extremely good. Nice breakfast choices and atmosphere (we were lucky to have a table in the terrace/winter garden). Bottled water in the room was a pleasant move.

I would suggest a general cleaning of the toilet bowl (your stuff has to take attention to cleaning under the bowl rim so there won’t be a bad smell in the whole room). It provides unnecessary bad experiences of the stay. In the summertime it’s really challenging to sleep in the top floors due to the lack of the air conditioning

Very nice and comfortable family room, lots of space for a family of four and a dog. Nice breakfast, friendly staff. great location near the train station, old town and zoo.

IF YOU PREFER SLEEPING WITH OPEN WINDOWS. It should be noted that rooms with windows on the street side, all family rooms included could (as in our case) experience nocturnal city center noises like trams passing by, people yelling, listening to loud Eastern music out of open car windows, throwing up and so on :) Maybe it's just our luck for 2 nights straight, but I'd recommend ear plugs OR just close the windows, they have decent sound isolation. Otherwise the stay was perfect 👌🏻

The area outside the hotel is little odd

the location is excellent for Leipzig, right by the station and Altstadt. The room was clean and well-equipped, although a little bit small (the bed was very big, which was nice). The staff were excellent and helpful and very friendly! The breakfast home-made spreads were delicious

No real complaints at all. I would have liked a few more warm vegetarian options for breakfast (there were eggs and baked beans though). Everything else at Big Mama was excellent - would stay here again!

comfortable beds. it was very clean and we had a wonderful one bedroom family room. great value for money. location good as relatively close to the highway when traveling through. we did not have breakfast at the hotel

it was too hot and you could hear the tram and traffic when the windows were open. and the children had a room where the windows could be wide opened (5th floor) - gave me nightmares :)

The location is awesome. Just 3 mins walk from the railway station. The breakfast was also very good. The staff was very hospitable, cooperative, and warm. I would really recommend it to family or group of friends travelling together.

The only thing is since it is very close to rail and tram tracks, sometimes it can be noisy. But apart from that most of the things were commendable

Very friendly and helpfull staff(!), big clean room with all the necessary amenities, private parking around the corner. Few minutes walk from Hauptbahnhof and city centre. Tram stops nearby. Nice bar/lobby downstairs.

No issue for us, but no AC in room (room can get a bit hot) and no fridge (also no prob for us).
