Courtyard by Marriott Budapest City Center

Nice size of the room. Breakfast is exceptional. The room was clean and the cleaning staff did a good job. Amenities are good, we got slippers and bathrobes for the sauna. With an entry parking ticket from the garage, you can pay a daily 15€ ticket at the reception and get the exiting ticket. The garage is safe and this is a good parking solution for the downtown.

The beds are a bit narrow, initially, we booked this 2-double-beda room for 3 people and it was advertised that beds are double, which they are, but luckily there were just 2 of us so we could sleep in comfort.

We got a nice room facing the street, it was kinda busy and a little loud, but we didn’t mind it at all, ww liked the big windows and looking outside directly at the traffic. There was a nice cinnamon scent that we could smell everywhere in the hotel and it reminded us of christmas. The lobby and restaurant was really nice, breakfast was good and had many options. It was a 25 minute walk to the Christmas market. Parking garage is right under the hotel and it costs 17€/24 hours. It is connected to shopping centrum. There were plenty of restaurants, cafes and fast foods around the hotel within 5 minute walk. Dogs are welcome in this hotel

The hotel was brand new and everything was very modern. The room was bigger than I expected so that was a nice bonus. The hotel staff were pleasant and helpful. The location of the hotel is fairly good but not exactly in the center, however it's well connected by public transport. There are plenty of good restaurants and grocery stores within a few minutes walk.

There isn't too much for me to complain about here. I didn't care for the color scheme in the room we had. There is not a good place to smoke other than out front of the hotel. Selling water bottles for 3 euros at reception seemed a bit odd.

Underground parking was a great convenience since we drove with our own car. Location of the hotel is perfect for travelers like me who like to walk and explore cities. The national museum, antique shops, many restaurants are all in walking proximity. The Danube and all the sightseeing around is also in a tram distance which passes in front of the hotel. The hotel building itself gives a great sense of place which blends in the historical buildings around. Staff was attentive, breakfast was rich and convenient. We had an issue with the balcony door,when brought up they solved it by changing our room since some parts were necessary to fix it. That's a good sign of care since one of the reasons booking a suite was to have balcony for us.

Located in the city center and in front of bus stops and tram stops. Metro is located less than 5 minutes. Staff is friendly and would manage the room near to each other.

On the last day, reception staff could not book the van shuttle service “Mini-Bud” to the airport; she said it should be booked 24 hours before. It's kinda weird because the previous shift said we can ask the service at anytime. We have connected room, only one room was cleaned (?) in the last 2 days of stay. When we ask the reception, they could not reach the housekeeping and suggested us to wait until the next morning. I didn't put any “do not disturb” sign at the door when it is happened.

Check in is at 15 I received my room at 18:30 because one of the guests had late checkout !!!!!😡😡 I can not understand this !!! My room was in the third floor I could not sleep until 3 AM due to wedding held in the second floor 😡 staff was very rood in the next day when I complained about these issues!! I never had these issues in other hotels !!! Consider other hotels in Budapest, polite professional staff is essential

We had a wonderful three night stay at the Courtyard. It has a fantastic location, just steps away from the 4 and 6 tram line on Blaha Lujza Ter. Next door you'll find a huge drug and variety store, a pizzeria, a bakery with good sandwiches and bakery snacks, and a restaurant that serves burgers and breakfast. There is a McDonald's across the street. In case this makes you worry about noise, ask for one of the interior view rooms. Our room didn't have a view, but it was absolutely silent. The staff were always friendly and helpful and spoke excellent English. The room was spotlessly clean, the bed was extremely comfortable, and the sheets were crisp and bright white. Budapest was in a heat wave and we appreciated the AC working well. I can't imagine you would have a better experience at a much more expensive or "luxury" hotel.

We liked everything.

Location was really good for access to all *tourist* locations. Staff were incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. They spoke English which was a huge plus for those who don't speak Hungarian. Room was nice, clean, spacious and they had A/C, which was helpful in the heat.

The shower/tub was very slow to drain. :( MUCH construction right outside the hotel (fences and closed public transit access points), but it was very manageable.

The hotel is perfectly located, walking distance to the city center but also right across the street from Blaha Luiza ter Metro and tram stop. The room was incredibly quiet and the beds were very comfortable. The bathroom was much bigger than most European bathrooms and was clean, bright, with a great shower. I’m not sure if this is a positive or negative, but the room was so warm it was hard to cool it off. Windows were always open, thermostat at 16°C, even while outdoor temperatures were at -5°C. The front desk staff was helpful and attentive and the lobby was lovely and beautifully decorated for the Christmas holiday.

Housekeeping was a little hit or miss — It seemed the more I tipped daily, the more inconsistent the service became. There were 3 of us and I think that I had to go ask for a third towel every day. We ate breakfast once and while the food was very good, it was crazy overpriced and the service was bizarre. Our breakfasts at local cafés were just as good and a third of the price.

Have never experienced a Courtyard by Marriott outside the US...it's an upgrade. For Value, haven't traveled enough to know what's expensive. As for Location, I am not familiar with Budapest. It's a great location for the things we did.
