Central Hotel 21 and Apartments

I love the location and the look of the hotel. It's really close to the city center, but it's not in a noisy area. In fact, I'd say they did an excellent job at keeping it low-key while being in a great location. The staff were lovely and quite helpful. They also serve breakfast at the hotel and there are some coupons you can use to get discounts at places all over Budapest. The room was clean, nicely decorated and even came with some tea and coffee you can make. The daily cleaning service as well as the fresh towels were a nice touch, especially in the summertime. Another awesome thing is the air-conditioning, which was also a lifesaver. There's a few coffee shops nearby and if you want to explore Budapest you can easily just catch some public transportation since the stops are a few minutes away.

Our stay there was phenomenal, the only bad thing I can think of is the room size. Ours was a bit small, but it wasn't really a problem since we stayed there only for a short time.

Lovely little hotel in an old building, with an small inner courtyard. It doesn’t do anything fancy, but what it does it does very well. Clean rooms, friendly staff. Arrangements for out of hours problems are made clear. The fixed breakfast is a bit basic, but a bargain, especially as the croissants (you get two 😀) are excellent! I worked one morning in the inner courtyard, which was lovely. Lots of places to eat and drink in the surrounding streets.

The room is small and basic, particularly the bathroom - decent sized shower but not much room outside! But it is an old building and limits what can be done.

The room was very clean and comfortable for two people providing standard amenities. The bathroom was clean and the shower was easy to use. The hotel has a beautiful garden where guests can relax. The staff seemed experienced, provided useful details about getting around in Budapest and helped us book a nice cruise in Danube river. The hotel breakfast is minimal costing 4€ per person. The breakfast included two croissants, jam, juice and coffee. Overall, it was tasty and OK for guests not looking for a big breakfast. The price is reasonable. The hotel is very central. It is roughly 2 min from major Tram lines, 3 min from the Green Metro and approximately 10 minutes from the Blue Metro of Kalvin tér (where the airport bus also stops). The hotel is 15-20 min (on foot) from the Danube river. Within walking distance, there are multiple cafes and restaurants that stay open until 23:00. Few bars close to the hotel stay open after midnight. Opposite to the hotel, there is a mini market where water can be purchased. Hotel surroundings seemed safe during the night.

Although the hotel staff cleaned our room, it would be nice to include recycle bins in the reception area for guests that do not want their room cleaned on a daily basis.

Room was not large but perfectly adequate. Many TV news channels, incl. some in French, German, English and Spanish . Otherwise the detective, soap selection was either in Hungarian or dubbed from English into German, which, personally, even though I speak and understand German very well, I find unwatchable. Give me sub-titles any day! The room was very quiet so one got a really good night's sleep.

A simple, inexpensive breakfast was offered, consisting of 2x croissants, orange juice and coffeee. Whole grain rolls, in my view, would have been preferable to croissants.

The hotel is in a very nicely refurbished building in a quiet street, with excellent public transport connections (tram stop + subway station a 5-min walk away). The room was perfect for a single night, small, but quiet, comfortable and nicely furnished. They don't have round the clock reception but early check out is simple, you just leave your key in a mailbox. Overall excellent value for money.

There was nothing in particular I didn't like - maybe the room could have been a little bigger, but it is still a bargain at this price.

I loved everything! The room is exactly like in the photos; everything was very clean and organized; very comfortable; had coffee and tea in the room; the staff are very polite and helpful. The location is excellent! The neighborhood is a delight to walk around; there are several wonderful restaurants and pubs nearby; a convenience store almost in front and a good supermarket nearby; and easy access to the metro and buses. We didn't have breakfast at the hotel because we wanted to save money, so here's a tip: there's a Mccafé very close by which is really worth it! Everything was excellent and I definitely want to come back!

Everything was great!

I had a wonderful stay at this booking. The room was exceptionally clean and well-maintained, equipped with all the essentials. The staff's kindness and hospitality added to the positive experience. I really liked the charming inner courtyard, and the location couldn't have been more convenient. Highly recommended for a comfortable and pleasant stay.

There are limited breakfast options available but the abundance of nearby breakfast coffee spots compensates for this small shortcoming.

We can’t rate this hotel highly enough! It’s in a really lovely and quiet street but still a really great location for exploring the city on foot. We are bike-packing and arrived much earlier than expected. The lovely lady at reception allowed us to take our bikes straight out to the little central garden to lock them up and unpack our luggage to be stored until a later checkin, but then after a quick discussion with the cleaners they offered to get our room cleaned and ready straight away which we were so grateful for. The room was beautifully clean and modern and cool with great air conditioning! It had a kettle and complimentary coffee sachets. We didn’t take the breakfast option but judging by what I could smell in reception when we checked out it would have been delicious!

The Staff were wonderful, very friendly & helpful. Made me feel part of the furniture, thank you so much . Breakfast was also heat role out of bed into reception, take your breakfast to the cute court yard or back to your room . Good location. I was tired of hosteps by the time I got to Budapest, I stayed at hotel 21 for a week ! That says a lot as I like to move about.

Little bit of noise from the Street at night, not a lot, as this road is a quiet one away. The room i toke was a budget room which did say it was street facing . So not a big deal otherwise I would have moved into one of the inner court rooms which i was also offered but was travelling alone so it was fine.

First off the Staff were really friendly prior to us arriving. They were easy to reach via the messenger service and answered all my questions clearly and quickly. Then once we arrived they didn't disappoint. Perfect service once we arrived from the front reception team and our room was ready and clean before check in. Rooms were spotless and everything was better than expected. Would definitely stay here again as it was in a great location and with in walking distance of what we wanted. For the price as well, this is somewhere I will always look at booking first when coming to Budapest.

If I was being picky I would just say the fact the hotel had no lift and we was on the top floor, but for the service we got from everyone It really isn't a big deal for me.
