Hótel Vellir

Everything was good. Hotel was in a nice area lots of parking we rent a car to move to different attractions with wifi roo.ms are very clean private washroom clean clean towels everyday (nice quality towels and very white at all times) breakfast was excellent fresh bread cold cuts excellent stuff was very proper helpful very professional respectful we got 2 big rooms and they clean everyday. The area r was very nice neighborhood close to go to different attractions and 10 min to Reykjavik by car we planing to coming back again thank you

This was a lovely hotel and the perfect place to start our 2 wk visit to Iceland. The hotel was easy to find with free parking right in front of the hotel. As we had just flown from the USA and had a bit of jet lag we were happy the hotel was able to offer early check in for a small fee. That was perfect! So after a nap we were ready to start exploring! the hotel itself is very clean, well maintained with a nice little bar, free use of the gym next door, a lovely breakfast room and a sports bar connected towards the back of the hotel. The food in the hotel and bar were great. The rooms were comfortable and had everything you need and of course as we found all over Iceland, the people were so kind and friendly.

Warm comfy rooms, helpful staff, location closer to the airport, good breakfast (and long time for breakfast 7:30-10). Pool and gym nearby (though did not use as it closes at 8pm), bar. Best thing is that althought there are many lights around we could see aurora well from our window on the 3rd floor (couldn’t see it when we went outside). Direct bus connection with central Reyjkjavik (bus no.1, bus stop jus outside hotel).

Beds could be double rather than two single ones but that’s a small thing.

The breakfast was substantial ( not like American continental breakfast) lots of choices with fresh baked bread. Waffle maker was simple to use. The room was nicely appointed. No frig but that's ok. Right down from a supermarket so very convenient! The gym was nice as well. The equipment is up to date and not worn out. Loved the sauna and hot tub. The receptionist was extremely helpful and kept going without missing a beat even though there was a big group ahead of us.

Next to a highway. But with the window closed you can't hear it.

The room it was cozy, warm and clear. Clean bathroom and towels. They had the essentials for a classic good breakfast. The dossier with the additional information in the room was very helpful. We enjoy very much the sauna and the outside jacuzzi under a sky full of snow.

The main entrance and corridors were very smelly, likely not the room. A continuous noise can be heard all night from the main road. Be careful with the bus stop because the Reykjavik Excursions - Flybus Airport Transfer is not a reliable way to leave you outside of the hotel but the closest stop it is at Viking hotel (1,7 kilometer away), only the city - public busses they will leave you outside with the correct routes.

The hotel is located close to the main road between Reykjavík and Keflavík Airport. If you start your journey in Iceland or end, it is a perfect choice. Hotel is very new and modern. The room was amazing! Very spacious with two walls from windows, TV, complementary tea and coffee, huge very comfortable double bed and clean, pleasant bathroom. There was everything you need for perfect stay. WiFi worked very well. Staff was helpful and friendly. Breakfast wasn´t huge but there was everything you need for good start of the day.

The only minus is maybe the area of the hotel. It is rather industrial, with constructions happening around. So if you need to have ocean view it is not gonna be possible.

Super fast , efficient check in , given all the information I needed for my stay. My room was delightful . A spacious corner room with massive windows and wonderful views . Blackout curtains and exceptionally comfy bed did the job and I had probably the best night's sleep ever in a hotel. Breakfast was a generous Continental- no hot food- but very adequate and I must mention the two young staff who were very diligent in keeping the breakfast bar well stocked and were very pleasant and polite.It did not go unnoticed. Oh , easy to find hotel and plenty of free parking right at the front door . This hotel is a real gem!

Anna, Michaelina, and others at the front desk were extremely friendly and helpful with suggestions for activities and more . Breakfast was very good both in the variety of food and the high quality of the food. The breakfast area was always kept clean, and was constantly refreshed. The bed was comfy and the room size was nice too.

Other than the armchairs in our room, which were too low for our comfort, everything else was great.

conveniently located between KEF and Reykjavík, they kindly upgraded us to a corner room which had great light. room has hot water kettle and the overhead shower was absolutely wonderful after a long day. The breakfast has plenty of options and we came away very satisfied!

unfortunately there were a few men waiting around outside the property who tried to talk to us when we checked in in the afternoon, but didn’t feel unsafe in the hotel itself. the room can get a little warm with all the windows, but we were comfortable after popping open the window

the room is big, warm and comfortable. Staff is helpful. there is a big free parking in front of the hotel. supermarket in walking distance. located in the highway between airport and Reykjavik. big gym connected to the hotel was the best asset of this hotel.

the shower was too hot, I couldn’t change it there was just one temperature. breakfast was standard. mattress was too soft for my liking, but slept well nevertheless.
