Arkamara Dijiwa Ubud

We have been to many countries and many hotels already but the Arkamara tops everything by far. With our arrival at the beautiful resort in the middle of exotic plants and trees we got a warm welcome by the staff. The resort has 2 pools, a nice restaurant, a spa where we got our welcome massage, a gift shop and a roof terrace with bar and yoga area. Room: We had a very spacey room with a nice shower and bathtub with outdoor feeling. The room was cleaned daily with diligence. Restaurant: The staff at the restaurant was so welcoming and always offered us a super flexible breakfast. We got to select 4 items from the menu which was really a lot - with a fresh pressed juice of choice we never started the day hungry. Shuttle service: Since the resort is located on the other side of the river in Ubud it would take a while to get to the city centre. The Arkamara offered a free shuttle service (roundtrip), also on short notice. The communication was super easy via WhatsApp and never too intrusive. Staff: We immediately felt like home and got treated better than you could imagine. 24/7 we felt the kindness of the staff and we actually felt quite sad to leave Ubud, not because of the city but because of the extraordinary staff. We already miss it and can’t wait to come back soon again!

Arkamara has been our final leg in a 2 week trip to Bali. It is hands down the best stay in our trip. As mentioned by other reviewers, the best part of the hotel is the staff. They are very kind/helpful and sooooper prompt. You ask for towel replacement and they are there at your door in a couple of minutes. Once checked in, they communicate via whatsapp and that makes making any requests (e.g. booking bike rental or spa appointments) so easy. We rented a bike from them during the 3 night stay. It was practically brand new (50 kms) and we had fun zipping around town in it. I loved walking around their property and also in the rice fields. Taum from the staff walked me around when he learnt I am a birder and showed me where to go. He spent a good 20 mins walking me through the fields. Restaurant staff (Ratna 1, 2) and front desk staff are phenomenal as well. I will stay in this hotel again if I am back in Ubud and I sure hope to be back!

(1) Be very careful when you venture on the rooftop. They have step-up and step-down in unexpected places (e.g entry to the floor and at the end of the yoga studio). I bumped into them a few times (2) Room did have a humid smell to it. That was a bit unexpected but not a big deal. I guess that goes with most of Bali anway.

We travelled to Bali on our honeymoon. The one bedroom Villa that we stayed in was gorgeous. The hotel itself was also gorgeous - 2 amazing pools, one of which is an infinity pool. The staff were so kind and happy to help us whenever needed. They organised a scooter for us to explore Ubud and provided and really good shuttle service into the centre (you need to prebook) The choice of breakfast was fabulous and delicious, as was lunch and evening food. The spa is a great treat. We loved our stay and would absolutely stay again

Very beautiful resort with attention for detail (small flowers on the steps, amenities in the bathroom) and amazing staff - they go above and beyond to ensure you have the best possible stay with them. We stayed in the suite which was enormous in size and had its own balcony. Especially with the frequent rainy weather in Ubud, it was nice to be able to retract in the room. Food is delivered to the room upon request with no additional charge. Pool areas are great.

If you are looking for a lively place, this is perhaps not your place to go (as it is rather relaxed and quiet). By way of example, the cocktailbar on the rooftop was empty when we were there. Nevertheless, many nice bars close by in Ubud, however the resort is somewhat secluded and you need a scooter or taxi to get around.

Nicely decorated, very spacious rooms overlooking greenery of the jungle, scenic views, very well maintained beautiful gardens. The hotel is slightly outside of Ubud without an easy path to the city, in high season it can take 30 mins by car to get to the town due to heavy traffic (free shuttle was never available during our stay). The breakfast and the food in the restaurant was very very delicious, with appropriate prices and nice staff ( a bit more vegan options would be a nice addition).

Free daily yoga advertised on the hotel’s website was not available during our week-long stay, which was disappointing as it was one of the main criteria for us to choose this hotel. The beautiful terrace on top was available though so we managed to practise a bit ourselves, yoga matts were available at the reception. SPA area very nice, but heavily overpriced taking into account prices in the town, so we only used it once, even though we would have probably used everyday if the prices were more reasonable.

everything was amazing, from the staff reception to all the staff including restaurant, cleaning, spa etc were so polite, helpful and friendly. I would say the best experience I have ever had at a Resort. They arranged a private tour in Ubud and gave us amazing suggestions. The food at the restaurant was really good. breakfast, lunch and dinner amazing. weekend nights with live local performances setting up a perfect environment during dinners. All staff really nice and we met the chef who is also really friendly and polite. we loved everything and everyone there, not one single thing went wrong. The Spa was perfect as well, best massages and service ever. We went there every day! Our private tour guide was incredible as well. I would strongly recommend staying here. Its 15min meters from the Ubud centre but that is a good thing. You can go to the centre to have fun and visit but come back to the “jungle” quietness. They provide free shuttles during the day. In our case we actually think that a bit outside the centre is actually good in this case. The walkways and pool arr beautiful, as is the roof top. The bedroom and views did not disappoint. As good or better than the photos. Usually photos enhance places but in this case it is incredible in person. Clean, comfy and quiet. 5stars hotel for a really good price. we will definitely be back. People here really make sure you are well taken care of. thank you for having us!

nothing, it was incredible

First time in Ubud and luckily I have selected Arkamara as my 12th Wedding Anniversary stay. The hotel staff have made some welcome arrangement decorations to help me celebrate my wedding anniversary. The resort was amazingly well kept, 100% immersed into a natural environment. I stayed in a private pool villa, it's a luxurious space for a couple, a private, quiet, holy setup. The resort is just 6-7km away from Ubud town travel with a rented scooter. I also have tried Kamalini SPA and also Kau Kau restaurant. It's definitely my favorite place to be dining and relaxing.

Really nothing for this trip

We stayed in a gorgeous 2BDR villa with a private pool, kitchen, with separate upstairs + downstairs rooms, outdoor shower/bathroom. Spacious and comfortable, I could certainly imagine a long stay here. The gardens and surrounds are simply stunning - so tranquil and beautiful, massive sense of calm and relaxation. The resort is approx 20min from the main centre so it’s quiet and tucked away in small pocket of Ubud. Restaurant is fantastic, we had breakfast daily and dined in for some dinners - there is only one restaurant onsite but they do everything well with a great mix of offerings. Lastly the staff are just superb, everyone in all areas of the resort were so welcoming, accomodating and genuinely lovely. We will definitely be back again!

Nothing - it was perfect!

absolutely beautiful location - felt like it was an oasis in the middle of the jungle. quiet and peaceful. we had a 2 bedroom villa which was very spacious and comfortable with our own plunge pool. hotel is out of town - too far to walk although hotel provides a shuttle service so this did not pose a problem.

although our villa was lovely it lacked any sitting space inside other than the bed. some soft chairs/sofa would enhance the property so u could get away from the heat and humidity if needed.

Everything we wanted and more. The room was huge and the balcony overlooked the rainforest as advertised. Super clean, comfortable bed, gorgeous bathroom (with really good water pressure) The staff were BEYOND welcoming... hospitality was off the charts. The spa facilities were unreal and the restaurant was lovely too. Breakfasts were a highlight...smoothie bowls are a must have! I'd definitely love to go back.

Everything was great. Only minor thing is maybe more umbrellas by the pool. There were only 2 and so if you were a sun lounger without cover, the sun could be brutal
