Honeymoon Guesthouse

The whole property was beautiful. The statues, details in the wood carvings, the doors to the bedroom / bathroom, very special. We were greeted with a gorgeous welcome of “Happy Honeymoon” written with rose petals on the bed, which was the perfect welcome. The breakfast was good, wish we got more time to just hangout at the hotel and really take advantage if it.

The moment we entered the bathroom first day, there was a cockroach in the room (the staff member removed it for me), and one day we got back to our room and although it was locked, the doors were slightly pushed open. Bed linens had multiple stains. You could also hear critters in the ceiling or roof at night which was a bit unsettling before bed. Overall, would recommend for the ambiance absolutely, just beware that being in the jungle, you will hear ”nature noises”.

Centrally located in Ubud, but away from crowds and traffic. Absolutely stunning beyond photos and imagination. The accommodation is inside ornate buildings just like temples. It’s mind blowing. Beds are comfortable, staff attentive. Cheapest massages I’ve seen and I’ve travelled Asia extensively. Good food. Couldn’t rate it higher.

If you are scared of bugs, the rooms have brickwork at the top that lets air in (without nets). Having said this I saw no evidence of a single crawling or flying beast in my room at any time. It was spotless.

Beautiful gardens , pool was great, breakfast was delicious & good choices, bed was comfortable , staff the most friendly people & helpful

No safety box in room , long walk to room from entrance , walking up 4 flights of stairs was a killer, if I stayed in future i would ask for ground floor , aircon was small for large room but it was ok .

The location is superb for exploring Ubud on foot. The rooms provide an authentic Balinese experience and have a rustic charm. Waking up to the sound of birds, cockerels crowing and scooters is heavenly. The breakfast is delicious and satisfying in its simplicity. The staff were very kind, friendly and helpful. I have no doubt we will return. We loved our week in Ubud.

In the past we had a ~20l water fountain in the room which was very handy. I am not sure of the reason but this was removed and replaced with 4 x 300ml bottles for an entire 7 night stay. Apparently this was to save plastic however that was not achieved as we had to buy ~3 x 1.5l plastic bottles per day which resulted in a huge amount of plastic (21 single use bottles) vs. the previous 20l reusable water fountain. I would be happy to pay an extra few $ per day for the convenience of a water fountain.

Atmosphere - from Balinese decoration to friendly happy staff who you can tell they enjoy their work at the Honeymoon guesthouse and many seems had been working there for a long time. We checked in at midnight as flight arrived late, the security guy was expecting us and helped us to settle in the room to rest and told us to do the check in next day… very considerate! Swimming pool - deep and big enough for a relaxing swimming… very pleasant Breakfast - many choices, the best main are local dishes, for sweet stuff, the cinnamon roll and the banana pancake are the must try. Cooking class - best thing to do to avoid the mid day sun, the cooking class not only teaches cooking the dish, it starts from visiting the local market to understand local materials and culture. then back to the luxury cooking station, first enjoy morning tea then cook and eat the dish for lunch with the teaching from the enthusiastic staffs! Location - easy walk to city center and itself is surrounded by some good restaurants and spas. We want to try the in house yoga class but pity our schedule did not give the chance… next time! I wish Honeymoon guesthouse the best business to keep offering tourists the best value option to enjoy their visit to Ubud!

Almost nothing… the bathroom was a bit smelling from the sewage at arrival but we put the fan in the bathroom to reduce it… however, it is nothing if comparing to all the other things offered by the Honeymoon guesthouse !

The rooms are stunning, almost pieces of art really. They are very spacious and clean and quiet, exactly what you need after exploring about the awesome places in and surrounding Ubud. Staff are also always very friendly and helpful. The location is about 150m from the main road through Ubud so the location couldn't be better really and there are great places to go within walking distance. 'why not' bar, which is on the same street is brilliant and the musicians performing there are so good if you wanna get loose and have a few drinks. Also quieter and more chill there in the afternoon. (none of the music can be heard from the guesthouse though :-)) casa Luna is great food on the high street and about a 15 min walk or 2 min scoot there is zest Ubud which is also great. Honestly couldn't have enjoyed staying at honeymoon more. Loved it. We're booking to go back in a few weeks we liked it so much

Nothing.

Great location with walking distance to lots of restaurants, Ubud Palace and the Monkey Forest. The place itself felt very authentic, and it's called a guest house for a reason - it's nothing like a hotel, with the rooms scattered around the property in beautiful houses. We had breakfast included, and it was very good - would recommend. Very good accommodation considering the price.

The room was not sealed the way we as Europeans are used to, so we felt a little lack of privacy. Big cracks in the windows and doors as a part of the architecture. Took some getting used to!

Room: fridge, soaps, new water every day, mosquito net around the bed. Location: on a quiet street in the center with food and shops around. Breakfast: fine, the bread a bit stale and the avocado just tastes like water, good service though, and you have to order the day before Pool was nice. Anything is possible if you ask at the reception, they will do their best to help you :)

Room (14b): the bed was almost too soft, our hand towels were removed and not replaced, the bathroom had a weird bad smell from the drain. Location: the popular areas are a 30 minute walk. Breakfast: fine, the bread a bit stale and the avocado just tastes like water, good service though, and you have to order the day before

Great location on Jilan Bisma. Walkable to town but quiet area with lots of good restaurants around. Our favourite restaurants were: Warung Gauri, cheap and delicious, Cafe des artistes, so delicious and a little more upscale, and Dian’s on monkey forest road, authentic cheap food. Casa Luna also was great. The breakfast was fabulous. So many choices and delicious. Staff was wonderful. Friendly and always at your service, anything you needed.

Our first room although nice was on the second floor up very steep stairs. We asked to be moved the next day to a ground level unit. Large room and shared deck. We didn’t particularly like the outside bathroom and open style windows which allowed mosquitoes, ants and warm air to come in. Thank goodness for the air con and mosquito net.

The room was comfortable with Bali Coffee and Tea, serviced daily with no hassle. The breakfast was varied and delicious, starting with a Jamu (Health drink) every morning was really appreciated. My partner had his birthday, and to be honest he received the best birthday treats including flowers, a towel and petal bed makeover, and a delicious banana tart cake for breakfast. Very very sweet. Great pool, location, I have stayed many times, and the consistence with food, the yoga, the cooking class we didn't, was all wonderful.

I think the cooking class was expensive for what it was, and would not do it again, would have liked more information about the spices.
