D Eastern Hotel

Very near to some of the attraction thats meet the purpose of my stay Very near to food court and several restaurant for breakfast, lunch and also dinner Ample parking space

No fridge in the room neither at the receptionist counter. Maybe the management could consider to made available a freezer for a breastfeed mom to store baby milk overnight

Rooms are large and very clean. The location is excellent, almost center of Ipoh town. This is a budget hotel but it feels like a 3star hotel. Didn't have parking problems because it was the off peek season.

No fridge.

Everything about the D Eastern was as advertised. The location was perfect for walking to everywhere on foot. Memory Lane, Mural Lane, Ipoh Parade, Cocubine Lane, etc. The receptionist was superb...so helpful at all times with info, directions and suggestions. The room was large, good wifi, some English channels and clean. Comfy bed and pillows too. Free water and coffee was nice.

Not the fault of the hotel, but the area around it is very dirty and smelly. There were people on my floor (3rd) that let their child run up and down the hall yelling and screaming...very noisy.

Located at the city centre. Free parking spots available for the hotel guest, but I think it is quite limited. If guests manage to get a parking spot, I suggest use public transport for touring nearby. The staff is very helpful and friendly. The room is very spacious. Reasonable with the price offered. Easy access to 7e, laundry and also fast food restaurant. Keep up the good service.

I dont know if the rooms are all soundproof or not. But we can hear the noise coming from other room while walking in the hallway and also when we were in the room. My room tv service just got 1 channel but we dont really mind about this since we just stay in the room to sleep.

the hotel gives us a yesteryear design yet retains all the modern comforts and spaciousness for a vacation stay! even the lifts (max 4 pax) was so retro! the showers were very good too! perfect location to the old town and famous eateries nearby. it's walking distance to the popular old town coffee, gai si hor fun or even the bean sprout chicken and funny mountain bean curd! plenty of parking onsite too. the recept was very kind in suggested the room that faces the car park as quieter esp at nite which is perfect!

courteous and helpful staff 🙏 offered a quiet room at the back spotlessly clean, comfortable very spacious bedroom & bathroom, comfy chairs/table great to have a lift perfect location for walking around old town/Little India area, lots of food choices enjoyed a peaceful Kinta riverwalk, gorgeous old trees, monitor lizards crossing the pathway to the river

no fridge - use of the hotel fridge appreciated no water refill - single use plastic bottles & stirrers

This hotel absolutely impressed me. The hotel itself is old, but you can see they really tried their best to turn it into a better and modern hotel. The floor and interior design of the common area have been revamped to a more modern looking design. I was greeted by a very well mannered and friendly Indian girl when I arrived at the reception to asked where can I park the car since they offered FREE car park (yes, it is really rare especially in this area of Ipoh, right in the heart of the town), and it's covered. The Indian girl explained nicely and patiently to me on how to get to the car park which is just located behind the hotel. The hotel collects a RM50 deposit in cash. They don't take card, only qr pay, cash and bank transfer. So off we go to our room on the 3rd floor. The moment we stepped into the room, there was a really pleasant smell. Other than the small carpet area in the room, the housekeeping team did a really good job. Everywhere in the room was spotless. Though the furniture are dated, they were all in great condition and most importantly, comfortable and clean. Kettle and hair dryer were provided. toiletries were also provided in a plastic packaging. Towel is very absorbent and great shower. The only down side is for the 2 nights we were there, the hot water ran out quite fast due to the centralised heating. There was a big mirror behind the bathroom door. The room also has a split system AC, not a centralised AC. The AC is cold, but it was leaking for 2 nights while we were there 🤣 so we had to put a bin under it to collect the water. Location wise it is located right in the heart of town. Nearly everything touristic is within walking distance. after we left, they called and let us know we left our shampoo in the shower but we were long gone, so we had to get our Ipoh friend to pick it up for us a few days later.

*soundproof wasn't very good *AC was leaking water, I didn't request for a change of room because I just collect water using the bucket so it doesn't bother me, and I was too lazy to repack and move room again. But most importantly the AC is still very cold.

Like the big room and good location, within 10 mins walk to eating places. Receptionist was very helpful to book a grab car to take us to the airport.

Wardrobe space is small and only has 2 hangers. There was no housekeeping to clean the room even though we stayed for 2 nights. It would be more convenient to have 2 card keys per room instead of only one.

The location is very strategic in city center, close to many chinese food hawker centre. The hotel is also close to wet market where you can buy fruits, vegetables etc. It's only 800 meter to Concubine Lane, one of the famous tourist attraction in Ipoh city.

The closet in restroom is too close with the bathroom glass screen. Other things are allright. No car parking in front of the hotel. Parking space at the back of the hotel quite safe.

Affordable room rates and good location

A bit noisy due to room not sound proof.
