Mercure Langkawi Pantai Cenang

The hotel was very modern with nice and simple interior. The location was perfect, only a few minutes walk from the beach and restaurants. I really enjoyed the big selection of breakfast provided every day and was impressed with the in room dining menu and pool.

The cleanliness can definitely improve and facilities need to be more consistent with cleaning and providing amenities. Apart from doing the bed each day nothing else was really cleaned nor sheets were changed, I stayed for 4 nights. There was toothpaste marks on the mirror from the previous people. The hotel rooms really needs to be sound proofed. I was given a room by the lift so can hear the lift bell all day. I can also hear the people in the next room to me whilst they were playing their games, talking, having a shower. The walls are ridiculously thin.

Breakfast was fine. it has just opened, so they will fine tune it. The guy at the bar/pool bar was great. He was very friendly, always remembered our drinks and played cool music in the afternoons. there was a lovely gentleman at dinner as well, he was very friendly and always happy. And a lovely older lady at breakfast. I still would stay there again. great room. spacious and little balcony overlooking the pool. LOVED our room. it was also on the main road of Pantai Cenang, so the beach is 5 mins walk away. heaps of places to eat on the road, plus the duty free shops and the little boutiques.

Some of the staff were a bit unfriendly, I think they are just jetting used to working in a big hotel again after COVID. didn't bother me, cause the happy friendly staff made up for it. Needs another large mirror in the room. the one in the bathroom isn't enough. And better lighting for makeup application.

Very big rooms, good breakfast and gym.

The pool is open until 22:00 on weekdays and until 23:00 on weekends. The noise from the pool and the bad acoustic from the open bar, makes the noise unbearable to sleep. The average decibel in the room with closed balcony and only AC working was 55DB, and in the balcony it was 72DB and max 78DB. I could here the music and people loud talks and Karaoke from the bar, inside my room and in the hallway. Obviously the hotel’s square shape around the pool creates echoes, which demands significant acoustic adjustments to minimize in rooms noise and maximize the silence in the rooms. Overall and other than that, the room was clean and big (unfortunately the coffee mugs wasn’t replaced from previous gusts and had lipstick stains), good breakfast and good location.

Nothing short of a great holiday at Langkawi. Right next to Cenang beach 2 minutes to be exact. Management was very helpful with regards to all the aspects of accommodation and getting things done. Breakfast was amazing having lots of variety and especially the egg station with Chief Farid make some delicious poached eggs and they even gave us hash browns which weren't in the menu.

We just had a small episode of having some cockroaches in our room which was triple bed but the duty manager Mr. Saad accommodates us with new room although a bit small we asked him to disinfect our room. Apology cake was also sent to us on behalf of the management which was very kind of them.

Perfectly located to main street of restaurants and shops and also the beach is only a 5 min walk. Special mention must go to Path, Nizam, Nora, Murni, Sharool as being so very helpful because they went above and beyond and absolutely nothing was too much trouble. We were spoilt with a champagne breakfast on on our last day! Great variety of Asian and Western choices for breakfast including made to order eggs. The in-house restaurant serves excellent meals and snacks. The complimentary welcome drink is a nice touch. All staff were super friendly and helpful. Will definitely stay again.

On the negative side, housekeeping needs to be improved. Floor of room not cleaned after previous guest, tea coffee not replenished, room not made up until 4pm. Hooks in bathroom for towels and clothes needed. The music by the pool is too much like what you get at a nightclub; too loud and head banging. This is not what families and children want from 11am in the morning into the afternoon when guests are having a snack and drinks for lunch. Pity the guests with a pool-facing room. Easy listening softer music would be more appropriate. This is constructive feedback for improvement. All that said, will definitely stay again.

Inform the staff this trip is for birthday trip and they have prepare a little surprise of birthday decoration, appreciated :) The location is in the Center of pantai cenang.

The room is very far from the lift and we need to passby some function hall which super dark as there is no light on. Abit scary if you go back room by yourself.

Some of the facilities not functioning like one of the plug at the coffee table.the refrigiretor in the hotel was not switch on ..the walk way in front of the room is too dark...

Excellent!!! The room is very clean and staff are very friendly and supportive. Love the stay. Since my stay is relatively cheap, the balcony does not meet my expectation which is in the corner and no any view, however, overall I really love the stay. Breakfast is nice too. If using Waze to reached here, suggest search Cenang Mall instead of Mercure, as the location shown not really accurate. The Hotel is behind the Cenang Mall and walking distant to Cenang Beach, very near. There are car park provided as well. Welcome drink are given which the drink included cocktail, gin etc, does not stingy at all. Excellent stay overall.

Bed was comfortable, staff were good, view was good, good housekeeping, spacious room, nice balcony. Clean and new. Nice lobby. We enjoyed our stay

Extremely slow wifi. When I complained, they simply said "bad weather" while my mobile data gave me 50mbps. All 4 days of the stay the wifi was unstable and unbearably slow. I wanted to use the meeting room and I was denied without clear explanation of why. No self service laundermat and the in house laundry was extremely expensive I dont recommend this hotel if you plan to use laptop or remote work

OK. Breakfast was well presented in spacious area. Terrace dining was a good o[tion but on sunny days, sun reducing curtains on main windows at rear of dining (pool side) would make those table for acceptable and reduce heat and glare, especially in high season. Welcome and check in was very good and staff throughout were in good form. Very helpful and cheerful, as they were at checkout and in printing flight return check in documentation. Room was very good, spacious, well-appointed and good pool view. Fresh and drinkable water from in room tap was very helpful. Location was great and easy walk to massage, diner, coffee shops (Starbucks and Golden Recipe) and really good roadside food places. I hired a great bike from "Go Island Scooter Rental" 5000km on the clock, like brand-new and great brakes :), will again hire next year. Brought my own helmet and should have known, they had my size XL but will know for next time.

Yes, I should have said something but the single king bed was uncomfortable. I needed a pillow to stop me rolling to the edge and woke up most mornings a bit the worse for wear. I trip to the warm pool before breakfast was good but never looked forward tiogoing to bed. Monsoon shower was good size, but supply of steady shower temp water was hit and miss.
