Agrado Guest House

The location is, of course, absolutely ideal to explore Oaxaca. The staff is also wonderful, so kind and helpful and soooo patient. The bed is super comfortable and the hotel is beautiful... a great place to get back to after exploring Oaxaca. The rooms are also quite pretty. We first stayed on one with a street view but it was rather hot and my mother does not fare well with devices to cool the room, we were able to change rooms and the staff was most understanding of the situation. We really have no complaints.

We loved the place... maybe the breakfast could be a bit more robust, but this would be less convenient as there is so much great food to be eaten during the day, The room next to the street is lovely, but rather hot so if you cannot deal with air conditioning or a fan (as is the case for us), maybe select a different room.

The location was excellent; most places of interest, nice neighborhoods, restaurants are within minutes of walking. Rooftop room was quiet, hot water was plenty, bed was comfy. Breakfast was good rotates offering theough the week, but it is a little sugar-and-starch heavy with French toast, pancakes, beans etc. They do offer fresh OJ, coffee with refills, and scrambled eggs with ham with toast and jam, some assorted sliced fruit on the French toast. Staff is very nice and efficient. They also helped getting the luggage upstairs and back down without elevator.

It took a bit of time to cool the room with two fans that were quite loud. The industrial look was taken a bit too far to the shabby side for my taste with the bathroom sink and shower area.

The simplicity of the room was wonderful. Spacious layout. High ceilings. Very comfortable king size bed. No television which was great as there is so much beauty and culture to experience outside your room. The garden oasis is beautiful . Private and secure location . The location is perfect and close to all the main attractions and restaurants.....Staff are super friendly and helpful. Highly recommend.

The room that we booked was very large and spacious. I travelled with a fellow female colleague and we had plenty of room to spread out and not feel like we were in each other's spaces too much. The bathroom was also spacious and adequate for two female's worth of toiletries. We also spent some time in the room to work. There was ample space and they had a long table with two shares and plenty of power points for charging all our devices.

Everything worked very well. The only thing to be wary of were the showers. Not a negative, but a tip is to turn hot water on long before you plan on hopping in as it takes a while for the water to warm up. Something that can't be changed is the water pressure. Both my colleague and I have very thick hair and the shower was like a sprinkler so the water pressure was very light and it took a while to shower. More of an annoyance more than a negative.

The location was great. The breakfast was good. The staff were very kind, they gave us recommendations and connected us to a very good tourist guide. They also tried to help us to solve the problems and even change our rooms.

We had issues with the water for shower. First the temperature of the water - there were very hot or freezing cold. In the last day of our stay there were no hot water at all. Second the water pressure was very weak. There are no air-condition in the room, only a fan from the ceiling and another one which plugged into the wall.

Fantastic location, could walk everywhere that you would want to walk and not feel like you needed to figure out how to get back at night. As a solotravel or this was perfect.

The room I had was great, the only thing was that the road was a bit noisy, and it was hot I had to request an extra fan even though I had one above my head. They really need to put an extra fan in all of the rooms in my opinion. There was no airflow unless I kept the window wide open and at night I didn’t feel safe doing that.

The staff are very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is included and very delicious. Also, the room is spacious and the garden is beautiful.

The bed isn't very comfortable. It might be okay if only for one night, but we stayed for a week. It is definitely something the hotel should consider upgrading.

We liked the decor and the garden. It was restful and pleasant. The service was excellent as we needed help carrying our luggage to the second floor. The staff was exceedingly helpful.

We did not use the shower as it appeared to be inadequate for our needs. The water splattered in the sink though we managed to control it. The lighting in Room 8 was not well placed. We like to read in bed before going to sleep but the overhead lights were on the other side of the room.

I love the vibe at Agrado. The rooms are very chic with white linens and always a table to snack or write. Then there are the other places to hang out....the roof terrace with hammocks and lots of sun, the shady courtyard with old trees and stone benches and a fountain, and the inside lounge with sofas and a few books to cozy up at night.

I wish breakfast was earlier, but it is fun to go get an AM coffee near the church and do some people watching.

Lovely garden area and amazing location with friendly staff

Value for money was fine but not fantastic, and the private bathroom for our room was effectively outside (the other side of our private mini-courtyard), which was a slight shame
