Hotel Escondido Oaxaca, a Member of Design Hotels

The entire property is beautiful with an exceptional staff. The breakfast was excellent with lots of choices for any type of eater. I am vegetarian. I loved the roof top bar and the drinks. It was a perfect place to end a day in the city. I adored the patio room I was in and the large windows. While I was in Oaxaca I stayed at few properties and this was one of my favorites. I hope to be back soon.

It is louder at night, like a lot of people mentioned already. It’s on a busy street so the weekend is louder. But it wasn’t so much I couldn’t sleep and they have earplugs in the bathroom. My daughter who was with me didn’t notice at all so I guess it depends on how light of a sleeper you are.

This hotel is absolutely fantastic! From the staff to the accommodation to the coffee in the morning, everything was perfect. The whole vibe in the hotel is great, it seemed like every corner and every angle needed to be photographed. Our room was great, the AC worked perfectly, the bed was comfortable and the noise was down to a minimum. Considering this is next to a busy street, the hotel has made great efforts to minimize sound (ie: windows that are sealed shut to the outside). In case you're a light sleeper, they also provided some great earplugs.

I have nothing bad to say about this hotel!! Although we were worried about the noise, overall it wasn't too bad. Some nights were a bit noisier than others, but as I mentioned above, the hotel made sure the noise was down to a minimum.

The hotel is stunning and comfortable. The rooftop bar and courtyard seating area are a little slice of oasis, so quiet. Our private terrace was also bliss - especially when we were stuck inside when it rained! The location is brilliant, right in the heart of everything, and the staff are great - incredibly helpful and thoughtful. We were brought a free dessert on a quiet afternoon as we had told them we were celebrating our honeymoon.

There is very little to fault except that two nights the hotel played really loud dance music around the rooftop pool. We could hear it clearly inside our basement room (three storeys down) with the windows closed etc when we were trying to sleep. We had to get up one night to ask them to turn it down - turns out it's not audible from reception and they claimed they had forgotten it was on. They did turn it off when we asked.

Beautifully design space! The hotel itself is gorgeous the room was great we were at a King deluxe. Breakfast was decent although there's a lot of good food in the city so not necessary. There's always someone there to help, to the staff was attentive.

There are other complaints about the noise and those complaints are real! One night there was a party till 3:00 a.m. that kept me up since it felt like the music was in our room! However the other night there was no party and so it was fine. It feels like it really depends on the time you're there. There's nothing they can do about the neighboring noise. You should think about at least providing ear plugs.

This hotel is beautiful, super well designed and comfortable space and really close to the center of the historic district. The pool and common spaces were lovely and our room was cute and relaxing.

The pool area is a little small, it's not a big place overall, but that common space fills up quickly. The guest room was also a little loud, both from street noise [which is unavoidable when you're in a city] and from the AC unit inside, which was making a strange noise throughout the night that made it sound like someone was coming into the room.

This property is majestic, the attention to detail and design is immaculate, kudos to the genius of the architect “Alberto Kalach”. The staff at hotel Escondido are very informative and friendly, they answered every single question we had and helped arrange a private tour of the city, catering to our itinerary, and avoiding tourist traps. The room was beyond comfortable and beautiful, and exceptionally clean. The hotel offers a great cocktail menu, each more delicious than the other.

The food menu, although it has many variations it lacks that Oaxacan touch. How I wish the restaurant offered an authentic Oaxcan menu as opposed to an Italian menu. With that said the continental breakfast offered with your stay is probably the best We’ve had.

The property was not only beautifully designed, it was in the perfect location for walking just about anywhere. We loved this hotel and would 100% stay here again.

All of Oaxaca is very noisy, mostly from traffic. That said, because the property is made of cement and iron, there is very little to help dampen the noise. The doors to each room could at least attempt to be more soundproof.

truly everything. it was one of the most well appointed places I have ever stayed. with such an eye for the unique and natural, I couldn’t feast my eyes fast enough.

my one and only complaint was the noise! I am not picky in any way but it was quite loud on certain nights. I started sleeping with ear plugs and this fixed my only downside. this would never deter me from staying again the future.

Everything about the design was so beautiful. It had nice views and a pool on the terrace. The staff was nice and welcoming, they gave us a mezcal drink when we were checking in!

The room never got cool enough because the AC was tucked away for aesthetic purposes. The breakfast was very simple. The location was a bit further out. And it hard to justify the cost when you can get very similar facilities and better location for half the price.

Honestly everything, the place was beautiful to be in . My room was minimal wood with a great view of Oaxaca. The design is smart . The staff went above and beyond. Everyone I encountered was happy to help and friendly. Any thing I needed the front desk would help me . The food was delicious as well . I wish I could live there . I will definitely book with them again when I visit Oaxaca. Very private and safe .
