Rocamar Hotel Isla Mujeres

The hotel itself is only 2 short blocks - 200 meters - from the ferry terminal. The room was a 1 bed (king) with 2 nightstands,1 chair, a mini-fridge, a coffee maker, and a small TV with cable ; there was a balcony which had a beautiful "ocean" view, and 2 chairs and a Hammock. The bathroom was a glass cage with curtains - had hot water and a hair dryer. It served its purpose. Nothing fancy. The pool was nice and the room service lady was very nice and friendly. The only usable beach was "PUNTA NORTE" and it was only 6 blocks away ( walking thru the market area to get there). Use the TAXIs, the golf carts looked a little expensive. Hotel and room was very clean.

The only beach was PUNTA NORTE.......everything else around the island is ROCKY and dangerous.

Great location close to everything on foot and just at the edge of the hustle and bustle, with a sea wall and ocean right next door. The steady sound of the ocean was soothing. Felt safe walking day and night to the great restaurants closeby, and an easy walk to the ferry terminal. Loved the pool and the hammock on the balcony!

There was some confusion on check in and we didn’t get the room we booked, but we managed to get it straightened out and switched rooms after 2 nights in a room we were not happy with. After the switch we couldn’t have been happier- updated room, one large bed, incredible view and semi private balcony on the top floor! Note that the mattresses are pretty firm. Also there was not much shade by the pool til later afternoon and it was too windy to use the umbrellas, which meant we were sometimes limited in using this space at the peak of heat.

The location is absolutely perfect, because it is right down the road in front of you when you get off of the ferry. it also had the beach view which was absolutely incredible; other hotels had beach shoes on the west side, but this was on the east side, which means all you saw was open ocean.

it is a bit rundown. Outlets and light switches were coming off of the wall and the lock to the sliding glass door was so rusted and loosely screwed in. there was also a window in the bathroom with blinds so no one could look through, but you can’t fully close them either so you can constantly hear noise out of them and people could hear you in your bathroom.

The location was perfect - on the Caribbean ( no water access, but beautiful view). We loved being in a less busy part of town, but still an easy walk to North Beach and restaurants. The pool was lovely, right next to the ocean. The staff was available and helpful.

Would be good to have a shower curtain, to minimize the moisture in the room. Initially, we were given a room with a semi broken lock on the door. The staff was accommodating, and moved us to a different room per my request.

Overlooks the Caribbean Sea! Rooms provide a beautiful sensory experience with the sunrise, sounds of the ocean and full moon rising in the night sky. Rooms are clean and spacious. Staff is helpful. WiFi pretty decent as well. Hotel has a pool that was comfortable temperature and clean.

The first time we stayed here, we were on the second level and the room had an area to place our clothes. The ground floor we just stayed in did not have a dresser or a cabinet or anywhere else to put clothes. Ground floor was a little noisy with folks walking on the malecon but was not overly disruptive.

We had a room on the first floor with ocean view! We would stay here again for that incredible view. You can hear the waves inside your room which to me makes for great sleep. From our room we could lie and bed and look at the ocean. I loved having the microwave and coffee arrangement right down the hall. They gave us packets to make our own coffee in the room. There was also a mini Fridge which kept my beer nice and cold.

Room safe is ancient. Honestly its not nice to expect guests to carry around a big heavy key. I had to hide it in the room. TV is the smallest I have seen in a long time. It is smaller then my computer screen at home. Please Upgrade the Safes and the TVS! Otherwise this place is really nice!

The location wonderful, and just off the beaten path of busy Isla Mujeres tourism

 I was only assumption I would have a hammock which I did not also the bed was a little too stiff.  maybe this is a Mexican thing but there's no housekeeping during your stay. Maybe you have to specifically ask for it which I didn't mind since  there were extra clean sheets and towels in the room

The location is awesome! There is a small grocery store just a block away. Just a couple blocks to Hildago street where all the shopping and restaurants are. The staff is very friendly. The pool is nice and the view for sunrise from the balcony is AMAZING! I loved relaxing in the hammock on the balcony. It is a short walk to North Beach.

Well, I had been in the pool during the day and my towel was soaking wet still when I wanted to go back in the pool in the evening. I stopped at the desk to change my towel out for a dry one and was told that I was only allowed one towel for the day😢. The other thing was that the hairdryer and makeup mirror were in the shower. So, I was standing in the wet shower blow drying my hair.

The oceanfront rooms are amazing. You feel like you’re on the ocean - without any seasickness! Location is very convenient to the ferry terminal, grocery store and restaurants.

Bit of a walk to the beach. One of our rooms smelled slightly of sewage, but to be fair we did not raise it with the hotel management. Keeping the balcony door open fixed it.

The view from the room / balcony was incredible! Right above the water facing east so it feels very private - just you and the vast open sea. There is a walkway on ground level below, but people don't see you unless you're peering over the edge. Loved facing east for sunrise (you'll be out for sunsets anyway!) ... sunrise was a treat from the balcony hammock! Wall to wall, floor to ceiling windows means you have the view even as far back as your toilet, if you so choose to keep the curtain open on the window that separates the bathroom :D The room itself is pretty basic, but comfortable. Hotel is a quick 3-4 minute walk up the hill from the ferry, and easy walk to all the Playa Norte restaurants, beach, etc. Hot shower also! It was the only hot water I had my entire Mexico trip... and I had just come from an all-inclusive resort!

This is hardly a complaint, but a storm was passing through my first two nights, so the waves were pretty loud and I found it a bit hard to sleep. But well worth it for the views, in my mind. Just a note if you are a really light sleeper.
