Hotel HO Merida

Hotel HO was a very clean hotel with free parking and located a block and a half from the main square. The pool was small but it made up for it by being very deep, and it wasn’t usually busy, so it was a nice break from the heat. There was a bathroom on the first floor near the pools, which was helpful. There were water coolers on each floor with cold purified water for guests, which was great. The parking was behind the building, so it was secure and quiet.

The hotel had a complete lack of towels- we were given 2 shower towels for 3 people in the room, and no extra towels for swimming. They gave us 3 towels the next morning, but we still never got extras for swimming. The pool was very full, which sometimes resulted in people getting splashed. Shower pressure was also low.

I loved my stay at HO Merida. The staff were amazing, really helpful and friendly. It's such a beautiful, historic property and the location is perfect - a 2 min walk from the cathedral square. Despite being on a busy road the hotel was always nice and quiet at night. The pool is quite small - you can't really swim but it's perfect for cooling off after a day of sightseeing.

My bedroom door had a small frosted window above it so a lot of light came into the room - it wasn't really an issue for me but if you are a light sleeper you should ask for a room without one.

it’s the perfect stay for Merida, set in an old hacienda the rooms have been renovated and they are truly comfortable. the location is right by the main square with loads of places to eat and drink. it also has parking which makes it so easy to rent a car and a small pool for those hot afternoons. it’s just perfect, we will most definitely be back.

if I have to rate the things I didn’t like only three small things come to mind, but they really don’t spoil the experience at all; - the showers are old and water is lost going in different directions, and is impossible to find the right temp, either you burn or you freeze. can I recommend they are cleaned of residue as that will make a massive difference. - some rooms have no outdoor windows, making them quite dark but at the same price as those with windows. - they don’t have breakfast facilities

Very good price-quality ratio. Good, central location in Mérida. Friendly staff. Hotel doesn't have a restaurant and therefore doesn't offer breakfast, but I can very much recommend the La Abadia Café for breakfast (just 100m down the street).

Just two small things we found illogical regarding the bathroom: The cleaning staff took away the hand soap every day unnecessarily, so we had to open a new one every day (not very sustainable), and at the same time there was no hand towel provided? We had two bath towels and a bath mat, but no hand towel.

The friendly staff, the size of the room and the table in the room, the lighting in the room, the (free to use) water machine on the landing, the view from the landing, the armchairs and coffee table with newspapers by the reception, and the location opposite a well-stocked bakery (for a takeaway breakfast).

The shower head, because the water was not evenly spread out and did not come out in a convenient direction, which we adapted to by attaching a plastic bag to the shower head, and there was no hair dryer for us to borrow from the reception.

Nice hotel, centrally located with many restaurants and bars around. Parking available.

They promote garden view but our view was to the wall of neighbouring house. At least it was quiet. It smell a bit mouldy and you could see build up mould on the bathroom walls. Attention to cleaning that part could have been much better. I would still recommend for a short 1-2 night stay, but for longer stays I would choose elswhere.

It was really clean, and at a very good location. Even though it was central it was very quiet. We also really liked the building itself and the rooms. They were also providing bottles of water and they had coolers where you could refill your bottle (which is really important). The staff gave us great suggestions, as well, about places to eat and to visit. There was also a big TV with Netflix (!)

Great location, just minutes from the main square. It was safe to come back at night as a solo female traveller which I really appreciated. Kind receptionists. Water bottles everyday in the room. Nice building with a lovely patio. They also put the FIFA World Cup final on TV so that we could watch it.

Room window with a view of a wall. There was an unpleasant smell from the bathroom drain sometimes. The room door wasn't very solid - you can hear noises from the corridor.

Location is convenient, near main square, restaurants and shops. Facilities are clean, comfortable, and spacious. They also have a parking space, very useful. The receptionists were very helpful and recomended us where to go for the various meals.

All good, just a minor thing, the parking spaces have no shade.

Location and staff no complaints, everything was as described and seen.

The pool is not big at all is more for chillin in water than movin in it. Our room was next to the pool, so it gets noisy in the mornin if people use the pool
