Carlton Beach

Lots! The location was great (the tramline and buses were right outside, plus the beach of course) and the staff were friendly, the rooms were clean and the bathroom was really nice. We loved the bathtub. Little things like there being an English plug socket in the room was really helpful. My kids loved the swimming pool and the ladies there were so kind - especially with my youngest who has special needs. The air conditioning was awesome too. It was all very good.

Only difficulty was that we had to get two rooms and they were not close together - we were two corridors away and my son has special needs so he had difficulty pooping over to see his dad and brother easily because he can’t read the room numbers. I had requested two rooms to be close to each other when I booked.

Excellent location right by the amazing beach and bars. brilliant staff, extremely polite, facilitating and efficient. The bed was one of the most comfortable beds we have stayed in at a hotel. Great bike hire as well.

Some of the web images are misleading as the hotel doesn't have any beach facilities, including wind shields and beds. This is a shame as you'll have to rent a bed and sheild for about 15 euro a day.

The location is perfect; the beach and promenade are immediately adjacent to the hotel, while a tram stop allows you to travel straight into the centre of The Hague in about 10 minutes. The room was spacious and well furnished. The inclusion of an iron as standard was greatly appreciated! The staff were all very welcoming and friendly. I paid for the breakfast and was not disappointed; a wide assortment of cold and warm food and drinks. The inclusion of breakfast Prosecco was very much enjoyed!

I have nothing bad to say about my experience. Would heartily recommend.

Clean, lovely room, excellent location

When we arrived it was 1 hour before the restaurant closed but when we asked for a table we were told that there was a group of 11 so they could not accommodate the 3 of us. The resturant was quite empty. This was very disappointing considering we had quite a long travel. One of our party had arrived from Austrailia. We had no choice but to go out to eat and when we returned back to the hotel we went to the bar for a drink ti meet the rest of our party, only to be told the bar had closed half an hour early as the bar tender had been busy all night!! Very poor service again. Our room was not cleaned on two occasions. No bathrobes in the room even though we saw them on the cleaners trolleys

The view from the room (room 403) is great. Breakfast is, as usual, awesome. The check-in was at speed of light (always appreciated after a long drive and a day at work). The gym is well equipped and you can actually do proper workouts there. And I also like having breakfast looking at the beach :-)

Due to the 2 lifts being down at the same time, there were many people bumping into each other in the stairs near the reception. In addition, since room 403 is near the stairs and the stairs were busy (even at very late hours), i was constantly woken up by people talking on their way to 4th floor from the staircase. Not the hotel's fault per se but better sound-proofing on rooms near the staircases would certainly be welcome. There was a bad smell in the room (opening the window for 5-10 minutes resolved the issue, but it kept coming back).

Dogs are allowed (We didn't bring one ourselves, but it was still very nice to see) I recommend booking a room with a beach view. You will not regret it! Another recommendation: Book a parking spot by calling the hotel directly (25 euros per day) I cannot comment on the Health Center since i didn't go there.

Breakfast is way overpriced for the provided options ((20 euros per person). Recommendation for hotel: Add soy milk, chocolate milk and most 'english breakfast' style things such as sausages, mushrooms, beans and tomatoes. Poor sound isolation in the room. The bathroom lacks privacy due to the 'saloon' style door.

bed and duvet were SO COMFORTABLE!! view of the beach was amazing. decorations cute, clean, and beachy. location was great; not too much foot traffic or congestion but still close to everything you’d need. plenty of towels. minibar fully stocked and reasonably priced. very close to public transport made getting there/back so easy. balcony had chairs/table, door had hook for keeping open. staff friendly and helpful. even hallway was bright and airy

club about 1 block away played LOUD music every night until about 3 am. even with doors/windows closed it was disruptive to sleep. water pressure so rubbish; BARELY trickling in the shower; couldn’t get my hair fully clean! breakfast not included

Location, rooms ok (even the not-sea-view), clean, comfy. Hotel at beach (50m) and tram/bus station on the other side. Parked car the whole time and used the excellent public transport to visit Den Haag. Beach infinite number of restaurants at the wide beach.

Staff in hotel restaurant poor. Were more busy with themselves than the customers. Table was only cleaned after the chef gave the waiter a hint. The other hotel staff excellent and friendly. Breakfast a bit crowed at one time, not enough space to lay the buffet out, hence people queuing.

The location was great, the room was lovely (except the bathroom doors, which are like a wooden pub door). The breakfast is 20euro extra p.p., but had lots of things and was very tasty!

We asked about the parking when we booked the room and were told there is a parking available. However, no one told us we needed to make a separate reservation for it. So when we arrived and were told we couldn't park because we didn't reserve, and that the parking was full. We would have appreciated to have known about the reservation in advance.

We got a free upgrade to a room with sea view. It was very nice watching the sea from your room. I personally did not find the bed very comfortable. Breakfast was delicious, not very extensive, but I would think something for all tastes. Location was perfect. If you are travelling with public transportation, there is a stop at the door. Close to the beach, restaurants etc. It was worth it.
