Crowne Plaza Utrecht - Central Station, an IHG Hotel

Ecellent and central location very close to the train station. Also very close to the old city. Quiet hotel although in the city centre. Friendly staff, answered our online questions almost immediately. Small empty fridge in the room, which we found more convenient than a minibar. Also coffee and tea making facility. The hotel is part of the biggest shopping mall in Utrecht which is very convenient; for example, there are various breakfast alternatives just outside the hotel door, inside the shopping mall. We would say, more 5 star than 4 star, when compared to other 5 star hotels. All-in-all, very good value for money.

This was my second time staying at Crowne Plaza Hotel, Utrecht. The hotel is very centrally located within the shopping centre and very close to the central railway station. My room was very clean, comfortable, and nicely decorated. The ensuite bathroom was spacious. The breakfast was excellent, with lots of choice. Most importantly, all staff were very helpful, very friendly, and always available to assist. The staff here are exceptional. I want to particularly commend Evangelos, Wim, Olivia, and Yannik

Location between the station and town was really convenient. Room was large, modern and in really good condition. Bright view over the city from big windows. Toilet-shower room also in good condition with shower pressure and temperature good. Felt like a high standard hotel.

It was a fairly large bed but the duvet wasnt wide enough. There was a mattress protector fitted to the bed which got a bit uncomfortable in the middle of the night. Access from the shopping centre felt a bit strange but it matched the instructions given and was sign posted. We didnt need to get into the hotel after the shopping centre closed.

An excellent breakfast on offer with a running buffet of hot food, cold meats, pastries, cheeses, multiple bread choices, fresh juices, coffee tea etc. There were also menu choices on request, such as eggs benedict, fried eggs, poached etc. Evening dining was very enjoyable, a good selection of world wines and great service. Our room was on the top floor (9th) and was spacious, quiet, clean, and very well appointed. Outstanding shower room too. Towels were generously proportioned and complimentary soaps and shower gels by 'Rituals' .

This is a small quibble but, getting off the train at Utrecht Centraal and finding the hotel - which was less than 200 metres away - proved confusing due to a lack of signage in/outside the station and outside the Catherine Mall within which the hotel was located.

One concern was the coffee counter/drawer. the other is the cream rinse in the shower. We had asked several times and left a note for the room service crew to leave at least 4 sugars and 4 creamers. sometimes they did and other times left an item out on a daily basis, there were days were a t least 1 item was missing, we did not receive water bottles, sugar, creamers, 2 wipes, and glasses. in the shower, the cream rinse dispenser had been empty for a few days. We managed to get extra creamers and sugars from the carts when we asked the cleaning crew and from the restaurant area. Over all it was a fabulous 3 week stay. We wished you had a microwave in the room. Hotel breakfast would be expensive for a 3 week stay. Do you offer free breakfast with long stays?

Very clean, quiet, comfortable very modern hotel. King bed was nice, large room. Easy couple minute walk to central Utrecht. Lots of restaurants, We did eat one dinner at the hotel. It was Excellent, great food and service..

Nothing it was all good. Good value not cheap but reasonable price I thought. Clean and very nice.. Utrecht was busy didn’t realize holiday weekend following Kings day. Warning make reservations for everything especially restaurants and sightseeing well ahead of time..

Breakfast was definitely a pleasant surprise. So was the gym; not big, but having the right equipment. The high ceiling in the room compensated for its size, which wasn't a lot wider than the bed itself. The staff was exceptional.

Check-in is at 3pm and I arrived at ~11am. No room was available, so I couldn't shower and had to change in a public bathroom before going to an anniversary party. I'd just been in a plane for ~10hrs. This was disappointing.

Really great location, was so easy to get to the shops and station but also to explore some of the smaller areas of Utrecht. The rooms were a really good size with a really nice big bathroom/shower, with Rituals toiletries! We went to Utrecht for a big music event and had the ‘do not disturb’ sign on the door for most of the weekend. We loved that the cleaning staff left a laundry bag of fresh towels, toilet roll and a refill for the coffee machine on the door - this was such a nice touch and meant we could enjoy hibernating in our room without running out on any essentials!

The only downside was a really funky smell around the lift area - it’s mostly contained as there is a large door that separates this area off from the rooms, but every time we went to the lifts we would notice it instantly!

I liked the variety and also the fresh fruit and juices. If you added an omelette station, it would be a solid 5/5 stars. The coffee machine was also good. For machine coffee the quality was good and it was good that there were more than one machine as one morning, one of them was not working so I got coffee from the one that was working.

The is small. I think it's more the layout of the room. At the end where the weights are it's very narrow so there is really only room for one person to work at one time. Only once in 5 days did I see all 3 treadmills being used. Perhaps removing one and rearranging the room to bring the weights to the front would allow for more space for multiple people to train. In the room, there was not really much storage for clothing and other things. Maybe adding storage under the bed?
