Hotel Lumen Zwolle

The Front Desk staff was fantastic! Friendly, accommodating, knowledgeable, and very efficient. They were able to handle any requests we had. The room was spotlessly clean, and the cleaning staff were very helpful and provided us with extra towels at a moments notice. The hotel is beautifully decorated and very comfortable. The only issue we had is that the internet listing indicated that the rooms are "air-conditioned", and that is absolutely not true. There is a "climate control" system in place, and the Front Desk personeel were very helpful in assisting with that, and they provided us with a fan for the roomn, so it became comfortable very quickly.

Staff were excellent, pleasant and professional and were extremely helpful with any and all queries from the lovely reception staff and a note on a young lady from the coffee bar named Amanda who was a credit to the hotel and a very pleasant mature gentleman who worked in the evenings behind the main bar, rooms were very clean and comfortable and more than met expectations and the breakfast was very good and plenty of choice. This was my second time staying here and I had the same experience previously.

Perhaps the location because you need transport really to get anywhere but this is only a small critic, the bar unfortunately closed early on Saturday evening but this was due to a staff member being ill but once again this is a very minor critic

A big, clean and above all very quiet room. While the hotel isn't located in the city center of Zwolle, it's a in very good location to explore nearby places like for example Elburg, Kampen and even Groningen.

Greenwashing. They have the usuals signs indicating they're a "green" hotel, stating they will only change your towels when they're on the floor. However, our towels were changed every day, even when they were not on the floor. Also it wasn't clear how exactly the toilet paper they offer would be used to help save our planet, even though a prominent sign said it would.

Great place. While a bit outside of Zwolle and not easily accessible with public transport (around 5min walk to the nearest bus stop) this place is great for a stay. The room was spacious and equipped with everything you need for a short trip (free coffee, safe, hairdryer). The hotel also has bicycles available for rent--either as a regular bike or an ebike--and availability of the bikes was no issue. Upon special request, the bikes were even available before the regular pickup times.

There is no shower door or curtain so a lot of water splashes into the bathroom and makes the tiles fairly slippery. Other than that, there is nothing to complain about.

Spacious and modern hotel next to the football stadium. It has a very clean outlook and offers several extras (which we didn't use). Obviously that is needed as the hotel is away from the city centre and other tourist spots. Our room had a good view on the pitch though there was no match that evening. The room was also spacious and nicely decorated in purple colours. Sufficient seats and Nice bath and a separate rain shower with good shampoos. And again lots of space around the bath and wash basin, plus a separate toilet.

Reception staff didn't give you the impression that you were special. They however showed us perfect directions to the bicycle parking. It was nothing special but sufficient for a hotel that is located away from the city centre and effectively tailored to car tourists and sports lovers. The bed was very soft as were the pillows. Still we had a decent sleep as the rooms and hotel are quiet.

Arrival is unexpected, looks like entering a fairly deserted parking lot on u Industrial area , you take a ticket at barrier which hotel charges E5 and you drive out easily) actually not impressive to look at , but once inside all changes, decor modern, staff very nice , the hotel is 12 years old but does not look it , we had a nice dinner and breakfast A good alternative to being right in city with the usual parking problems I would recommend this hotel

The hotel has a perfect location right next to the stadium and several shops and the chain of orange gyms. It has a big lobby seating area so it’s a perfect place to meet for a business meeting. The rooms are really large and spotless clean. Rituals shower gel and shampoo, coffee and tea in the room.

Although the rooms are large and have everything you need, they are not very cosy or nicely designed. It wouldn’t prevent me from staying there, but it just lacks character and warmth.

The hotel is great and the room very cleaned. Personnel friendly.

The hotel could make more effort in terms of consumption and waste of energy : no possibility of switching off the air conditioning in the room, when it was not very hot and there was no need to keep it on all the time. Temperature of the room set at 21°C that do not make sense if the temperature outside was barely 23°C / 25°C. Not always the temperature could be set from the room, so we need to ask at reception to change it. No possibility of turn off the light in the toilette. I supposed there was a sensor for setting the light "on/off" but if so it was broken since the light stayed "on" all night long.

My cousin and I had both understood when we booked our rooms separately via Booking.com that breakfast was included in the room rate we had selected. However, breakfast was charged by the hotel as an extra. It’s not obvious from the booking confirmation whether breakfast was included or not.

Room and bed were very comfortable and clean. Stayed with my son for one night, separate beds. Nice shower and bathroom. Also fitness was good. Breakfast was great as well.

Mainly Booking.com advertising which implies breakfast and parking are included in the price. In hindsight they state breakfast for 17,50 is included. Meaning you still need to pay the 17,50. I assume this is not Lumen's issue but Booking.com. Same with parking.
