We were on a 9 day visit to Auckland and went straight to Hamilton to see the gardens there. We found this Motel at North Shore conveniently located just off the A1 main road to Northland. There was a Woolworth's five minutes away, and the cooking facilities in the room were great. There was dedicated car parking. We arrived early and our room way ready at noon. We drove down to to the beach looking across to Brown Island, and walked along the sandy beech wriggling our toes in the gentle surf. In the morning it was just a short distance back to the A1 and we headed off to Praia, and the Bay of Islands in Northland. We used goolge maps to get off the rather crowded motorway [it was a holiday] before the tolled section of the road, and the drive was far more pleasant as a result.

It suited what we wanted but you would have to drive to restaurants and cafes.

Great room, great location. Spotless clean, great staff! As mentioned by someone, don't be put off by the run-down looks of the outside, or the smell of the reception (it stunk). The room we stayed in was failry new and spotless clean, the beds were super comfortable and the TV/Netflix was of high quality. They also had all we needed to self cater: toaster, jug, microwave, plates, bowls, cutlery, fridge, etc...the toiletries provided were of great quality. The service was also great with very friendly and accommodating staff (I had surgery and requested an early check in, late check out and downstairs bedroom). Great location (1km from beautiful Takapuna beach), close to shops, restaurants, beach, etc. Would stay there again. Not cheap, but I guess Auckland is not a cheap place to stay!

No lounge or similar to wait for taxi, only a few chairs at the reception.

The location fitted the purpose of our visit for an Auckland family memorial very well.. The location was walking distance to very good cafes for breakfast & again another for dinner also. Our studio room was well appointed with extra kitchen equipment . The bed linnen was all white, which hides no surprises. We actually felt like we were the 1st people who had stayed in the studio! The function we were attending began @ 200 pm - usual time for occupation, however the event we were attending was beginning @ 2 00pm! - The office kindly accomodated an early occupation as we'd left home @ 4 40am ! - That was much appreciated.! We would certainly stay there again .

There was just one thing. When I contacted the hotel through the booking I didn't receive an acknowledgement of my request for necessary early entry for our studio, & when I tried phoning the call didn't go through - no matter what time of day or evening I tried. I also emailed, without a response. Early am of the arrival day I received a txt enquiring whether we did need the studio early to which I responded & it all worked out very well when we arrived. Maybe the hotel was short staffed for office personnel, when they didn't respond initially to my request.

Very close to Takapuna shops for someone with no vehicle. Very good public transport close by. Supermarket and shops. Locality was clean and I felt safe walking even at night. Staff friendly. Good supply of tea and coffee.

I should have mentioned on my booking that had heavy bag and would have preferred downstairs room. Didn't know this until I arrived. No lift only stairs. Daily service is limited to change of towels. Not a big deal for a single guy staying several nights. But could be challenging for families. Washing own dishes & cutlery requires using bathroom basin as not in room service.

Location was ideal for my purposes .. the room was clean and comfortable.and staff friendly and welcoming. I would stay again but only if I could have a unit on the ground floor!

I DID NOT like the access to my room which was upstairs. This was my fault for not stipulating a ground floor unit. There is no lift and the stairs are steep and not at all easy to negotiate.. I did request assistance to get my suitcase down and this was readily given. No restaurant but supermarket is only 2 - 3 minutes walk away.

The plain exterior of the accommodation made its impressively plush interior unexpected. We had everything we desired for a very comfortable stay and Ted took the trouble to ring before our actual arrival in Auckland and ensure that we could gain entry to our suite at a late hour without any problems. Some nice snack treats were also very welcome when we tottered in wearily after our flight from Australia. Having stayed in Takapuna previously, we once again appreciated the handy location just a bridge hop from Auckland CBD and the Waiheke Island ferry terminal. The area also has a good variety of dining venues within easy reach.

Nothing at all displeased us.

Newly renovated, very comfortable spacious rooms. Everything you need for a longer stay with Well appointed kitchenette, modern clean bathroom. Window seat caught the morning sun. Sky TV and internet. Great location, walk into Takapuna for dinner and supermarket across the road.

Housekeeping a bit inconsistent. Exterior of the building looks run down but belies the quality of the rooms. Stairs to upper level steep and a little awkward.

Staff were awesome, they accommodated everything I needed on my stay. Room was large and the shower was amazing. Good air flow on the room with the big sliding door leading out the back. On site parking was very convenient. I was on a ground floor with my car right outside my room. Once again staff were outstanding very friendly and hospitable. I would definitely stay here again if the situation arose in the future.

Nothing too major for me. I was there for a basketball tournament so they were a couple of kids upstairs but noise was just what you would expect from young kids. Im a man of larger stature so bigger towels would of been nice but not an expectation.

Modern and well appointed room - close walking to Takapuna, and shops, easy to get onto road and where you needed to be. Nice to have some lollies and little chocolates left in the room and some magazines.

There was a towel left hung up from the previous guest behind the bathroom door and as there were 3 of us - there should have been 3 cups, plates etc and there were only two of some items and one of others (glasses)

We needed to be close to North Shore Hospital and this was a good location for that. Is in a nice quiet neighbourhood . Was travelling with my 2 adult children and granddaughter so worked well having 2 units with a double and single bed in each. Was also good having the supermarket within walking distance and also the lake.

Needing to do the dishes in the bathroom basin. If there were more dishes and they were collected each day and put through a dishwasher feel this would be more satisfactory.
