Hotel Principe

Good location near multiple restaurants and metro. Excellent value for the money

Room didn’t have toiletries when I checked in, had to request them. Also hot water was not working. They tried to fix but they couldn’t.

Exceptionally large room, was able to build a nice work space including the TV as a second monitor. Shower was spacious, too, and the vanity had plenty of space for toiletries. Lots of food options nearby, and a metro Linea 1 station was a block away.

Microwave was sufficient to wear up items, but no hot plate to do any true cooking. Wifi was a lot better than during my first visit, but still was quite weak.

The staff is very helpful and friendly. The location is great and the sushi restaurant next door is a bonus! They also have a taxi service in the lobby of the hotel which is super convenient for long distances.

I didn't like the fact that my toilet won't flush so I had to be filling it with water and after the 3rd complained I was offered another room but I didn't move as I was settled in the one already. I was looking for at least a small fridge and a microwave that would have made our stay even better, so we had to go out to eat and couldn't bring in anything for a nite snack and then 2 days before our stay was over we didn't get any hot water. But otherwise the hotel is well kept and the super friendly staff I would come again on my next visit next year God's will just I would upgrade my room cause I would be coming with the whole family.

This was my home for three nights while visiting Panama. My room is spacious, the window is large and brought in lots of sun (much appreciated!), and the bathroom is fantastic. The hotel is located in a safe and lively neighborhood with numerous restaurants and bars within a few minutes' walk. There's an adjacent convenience store that is open until midnight, and a Japanese restaurant next door.

There's not much to complain about the hotel. My room did not do a good job of blocking the hallway noise—particularly noticeable mid-morning when housekeeping does their rounds. The hotel pool looked worse for wear.

The location is excellent within easy walking distance of numerous bars, restaurants and shops. The breakfast in restaurant/shop alongside the hotel is very good value for money especially when compared to alternatives in the main street. Appearances can be deceptive. The sushi restaurant in the hotel is a great place to relax and eat if you do not want to go out looking for a place to eat. Spacious secure and free covered parking. Early in the morning or late in the evening it is less than a 30 min drive to the airport and about the same to get to the bridge of Americas. Staff are helpful.

The internet in the room is less than great. Although the internet in the lobby is fast and secure. The air conditioning works but on occasion struggles to keep up. If one was to spend more time in the room a bigger TV screen would be advantageous.

Location, the neighborhood, close to metro, good restaurants, coffee shop, pleasant to walk around. The room was clean, good wi fi, nice bathroom, good bed, etc. For the money, a very good value and a clean everything.

Hey, it's Panama ...the front desk staff knows nothing about anything... about the area ( oh well, not a big deal...), everything is tile ( yikes) so any noise in the hallway is amplified and loud as heck, not a big deal, but if your a light sleeper...just saying.

We stayed three nights. The location is good for walkers because the Hotel is near the subway stop "Via Argentina". Since we debarked from a ship at 7:00 am, Hotel Principe accommodated our luggage all day until check-in at 3 pm. They stored it in a corner behind the front desk. No claim ticket, but it worked well. We rode the subway to and hung out at Albrook Mall on the terminal Albrook subway station. Thirty-five cents per person each way. Hint: You first buy a subway card for $2 from the kiosk and then charge it a few bucks by feeding bills into the machine. Some super nice older guy helped us figure that out. Panamanians are the best. At the mall, we got walk-in dental cleanings at Mi Dentista for $30, a very nice experience. Shopped a bit, enjoyed and nice food court, then went back to the hotel. At check-in, a super nice male manager/receptionist upgraded our room "due to availability". His English was great and we were grateful for that tender mercy. The gals that work there do not really speak gringo so for Hotel Principe, it helps mucho to know the language. The rooms are good sized, they have nice tiled bathrooms, and the AC works well. Also, there is a handy convenience store next door on one side of the hotel and a Fusion Sushi place on the other - thumbs up. Lots of good food in the neighborhood. SIM card service is everywhere. Overall, Principe is a nice boutique Hotel with helpful staff. We appreciated their efforts for us. I am sure it would have been even better if we spoke Spanish. Our bad. Not knowing Spanish well is a definite handicap/burden.

Wifi. At times it was streamable at low resolution. Weak at best. If you are an internet junkie, I'd go elsewhere. Some street noise is to be expected but was not. Some locals still use crazy multiple-siren car alarms that were big in the US 20-30 years ago. Bring foam earplugs just in case

Location, accessibility to airports. sushi restaurant next door!

I have twice requested a Suite (with kitchen) using Booking.com and both times did not get a kitchen that allowed for cooking. This second time I was asked if I booked the reservation through Booking.com. Should it matter? The ceiling paint in the shower was collapsing, the towel bar barely hanging on and no kitchen as noted in the Booking suite description. Is Booking incorrectly representing the rooms or is Principe?

We had to extend our stay here as I got unwell. If I was going to be unwell anywhere on holiday I'm glad it was here! The Aircon is great, price very reasonable and there is a small shop and an amazing sushi restaurant just downstairs. Within walking distance of restaurants. Kept very clean and beds were very comfortable

Maybe the Aircon could be moved away from right beside the bed as it did make it a little tricky to get the room the right temp without freezing.
