Silken Coliseum

We liked the location of the hotel and the parking underground which was secure. The room was big enough for 3 people, the beds were comfy and the bathroom was well sized. The staff were very friendly at all points of contact and a credit to the hotel. As we had our own car we visit Palacio de la Maddalena which was about 15 minutes away, lovely large park area and historical palace. We also visited Santillana del Marl which was an old style laid out town, church and torture museum which is well worth visiting.

The food menu online did not reflect to the food being served/offered.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Silken Coliseum! We had a junior suite and the room was wonderful and really big, with lots of windows, a comfortable bed, and great amenities including slippers and robes. The A/C and wifi worked perfectly! The staff was helpful throughout our stay; we particularly appreciated that they stored our luggage for us after checkout, but before our 3 pm bus departure, so we could enjoy a last few hours around the city. Regarding location, I used to live in Santander in this area, which this is in the center of town. It is very convenient for restaurants and shopping, as well as close to the bus and train stations, but it is further from the beaches. If you're looking to explore, get a grey TUS bus card from one of the estancos (tobacco stores). Then from the Correos bus stop (a very short walk from the hotel), take the 1, 2, 4, 11, or 13 bus lines up to the beaches and the Magdalena peninsula. This way you can get all the benefits of this location but still enjoy the beach!

One other reviewer mentioned this and they're correct - the hair dryer in the bathroom has a button that you must hold the entire time you dry your hair (it's not an on/off switch). It was annoying, but in the grand scheme of things, a very small complaint

Location was excellent. Breakfast really good. Room lovely and dark. Most staff were super friendly and helpful. They offered to allow us to check in at 12.30pm as our room was ready. Lady at reception lent us an umbrella to dodge the rain. They looked after bags for us and called a taxi,

We really liked the property so no complaints but the Lady working at the bar could have been a little friendlier but perhaps she was having a few bad days. This did not take away from our experience as everyone else was super nice.

The hotel was very central to the restaurants, bars and shops, easy to get around the centre. The room was comfortable and the beds we had a good nights sleep.

The sink in the bathroom leaked, there was a hole in the top bed sheet, plus there was a previous flood in the bathroom, so the door wouldn't close, plus the wood was coming away from the door. Don't expect this in a four star hotel. This should have been fixed. Plus the bed linen should be checked before use!

I like the variety of choices I had for breakfast and especially that I am vegan. The staff were wonderful and helpful throughout. I had a relaxing sleep with a comfortable mattress for a good sleep, great amenities in the bedroom and toiletries, overall I found the room exceptionally comfortable. Hotel's location is very convenient and easy to walk to from town centre or from the beach.

I wish I could extend my holidays longer, but maybe next time.

The reception and cleaning staff were all very helpful. Their professionalism from the beginning was a major part of an enjoyable stay. The rooms were a good size with the double beds quite generously sized. The hotel is located in the city centre which is convenient to reach many of the shops and restaurants.

Due to the location in the city centre, the noise was sometimes unpleasant. Also, the ventilation systems in the rooms could have been more robust to enable a more comfortable experience during warm nights. This may be an even more pressing problem during hotter temperatures. However, these are only minor points of contention.

Great location in the centre of Santander, close to cafes, shops and the port. Our room was spacious and comfortable for a short stay. The restaurant facility was excellent and good value for money. We had a quick lunch there before embarking on the ferry. Warm welcome by the reception staff. Overall a pleasant stay for a stopover or a couple of days to explore lovrky Santander.

Compared to our previous accommodation, a small luxury hotel in San Sebastián, we felt that the room rate was a little overpriced. The room itself was comfortable but the bathroom was a little tired and could do with a freshen up and a repair to the shower head, that would not stay in place .

Well located and within easy walk of shops, restaurants, sea front etc. I loved the Rituals products - so much nicer than other hotels provide. Bed was large and comfortable and the room was a good size and very clean.

The hairdryer. It's hard to hold the button in all the time whilst trying to dry one's hair - why not have one that can be plugged in elsewhere so safety is not an issue.

Second time at this hotel. Everything is very clean and check-in is straight forward. The location is very central and close to most things. The bus station is a 10 minute walk away and airport buses run every 30 mins. Taxi to the airport is about €20-€25. The bus about €2:70ish and takes about 15 mins.

The restaurant looks nice but the food doesn't quite live up to its appearance. My wife asked for a four cheese pizza and got bbq, the chef forgot apparently. I had the fish and chips, too greasy. I wouldn't eat here again, but I'd definitely stay here again.

The hotel was in a great location, only a few minutes walk from the center of the town. Room was bright and spacious, and there was good cleanliness in the room and bathroom.

I thought the breakfast was a small bit overpriced when compared to what you could get in cafes close to the hotel. But it was convenient for an early flight
