Cigarral de Caravantes

We had a really nice room at this hotel, away from the main building, and straight across from the restaurant. It had a small terrace (although we didn't use it because of the heat in Toledo at this time of year), but the view of the cathedral and city was spectacular. Plenty of off-road parking, and the pool was great. Breakfast was a buffet, and plentiful.

Don't expect your room to be ready when you arrive 😠! Check-in was 2pm. We arrived at 3:30pm, and still had to wait half an hour. The restaurant shuts from lunch-time Sunday (when we arrived), until breakfast Tuesdays (except Monday breakfast), and the recommended eateries within walking distance weren't open either night! If I'd known there were no meals available, I wouldn't have booked. Thankfully we had a car. On check-out, I waited a good 10mins whilst the receptionist talked on the phone (business), but didn't even acknowledge me standing there, so left the key on the counter, and walked out.

Very good hotel. Breathtaking view on the Toledo from the balcony. Good breakfast. Bar on the territory (from 16:00 to 24:00). Free parking. Swimming in the pool , after long day of walking under Spanish sun, is nice (free towels are on the reception). 10–15 minutes walk downhill to the old city entrance. This part of the city is very beautiful (museum of El Greco etc), but could be difficult for seniors walking uphill. On another hand 100 meters from the hotel is bus stop. For 1.5 euro you can get to the main square of the old city. Helpful staff will provide you with the schedule. Or you can get taxi. 6-8 euros.

I liked everything.

The room was situated at the 1st floor of the hotel and had one of the most beautiful views. From the balcony you can see the city of Toledo. Honestly best choice you could do The hotel has a beautiful garden and restaurant plus the pool ( a small one) .From the hotel on foot you can arrive to Old town in 15 min....so it's OK.

No fridge in the room. Coffe it's good in the hotel but the reception had to ring the Staff from the breakfast area to see if they can prepare one for us. A bit too much just to buy 2 coffee. ...Breakfast 10£ / person. ..So if you just want to buy 1 coffe and 1 brioche....a bit difficult.

The view of the city was great, the only slight issue was that we had a single story building in front of us so if we went to the end of the terrace the view was restricted. Not a big issue unless you wanted a photograph of the full view. The room was big and the terrace was a nice addition, great to sit out on and look at the city view, which was wonderful.

The light coming into the room at night through the small glass panel on the outside door and the bathroom window didn't make the room as dark as I prefer when sleeping. The mattress and pillows, for me, were not as comfortable as I would have liked.

The hotel was situated in an amazing location by the river opposite Toledo. The balcony and restaurant was al fresco and perfectly captured the vista of the skyline. The whole place gave off a relaxing and serene vibe which felt like I was transported back in time. Reception were very friendly and helpful. They were able to assist us with our requests for transport and even food delivery despite the language barrier. I'm looking forward to returning here next time I come back to Toledo.

At the time, the pool was closed and the hot water stopped for an evening due to mechanical failure, but they compensated with free breakfast.

Beautiful view. Clean and spacious room with a terrace looking out towards the city. The food was great both for breakfast and dinner. Staff was friendly and very helpful. Wi-Fi was good and stable through the entire property.

This is obviously a personal preference but if you want to go there to visit the city (mainly the old town) this isn't the best location even though it's 10 or 15 min walk to the edge of the old town. It does take another 10 or so to go visit the main sights and that means a lot of "going up up up" when it comes to toledo. And it's not like you can just pop back in for a quick rest and then go out again. But if you go to mainly relax or if you book last minute like me... This is a wonderful place. Also you can always take a taxi or if you prefer, drive in town and park in one of the public parking spots. Make sure you check and book ahead though.

The hotel has a very beautiful Toledo and natural panaroma. The rooms have their own balconies with tables where you can enjoy the view day and night. The outside decoration, verandas,gardens are also beautiful. Polite welcoming at reception.

You have to walk to the city center down the slope. When turning back, it can be exhausting. We used hop on off buses both for sightseeing and reaching to the hotel. One of the stops are 100 meters close to the hotel. You can also use bus connections but one of them is once in an hour.

Lovely views of Toledo, on site car park, nice old fashioned character furnishings.

Set fixed price menu gave the same choices for two nights. Good value but tedious. Didn't go third night. Pool was lovely, but a bit small. Had to walk short distance from main hotel to reach the separate bar. Not easy access to centre, and easy to miss nearest bus stop. Fine if fit and can walk 20 minutes in heat to town.

Stunning location and great facilities. The room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. The views from our room were magical

The bit of road that leads to the cigarral was covered in rubbish. I assume it was caused by the floodings that had taken place a few days prior but I would probably had sent some people around to clean the area a.s.a.p. in the aftermath if it were my business

Wonderful views from outside dining area towards Toledo. Good menu for dinner and staff adapted menu for light meals one night when we were very tired. Short walk into Toledo but uphill going back. Maybe get the bus or a taxi?

Outdated bathroom. Shower, bath etc all worked but heavy old fashioned door made it a bit of an echo chamber. Maybe it would be cold in winter?
