Hotel Doña Carmen

Number 1 plus was the fact that the hotel very willingly allowed us to change our booking dates. The choice of lunch time tapas was varied and they and the evening meal were excellent..outstandingly delicious and very good value. A super chef!! We also appreciated the excellent free parking .

The cost of our drinks when we arrived, parched. Dearest gin and tonic in our 4 month stay in Spain. But, the same senior staff member who served us, made up for this, in our view, by being exceptionally attentive and pleasant later on. We would certainly go back.

Easy access from main roads. Spotlessly clean. Our room had French window and Juliet balcony overlooking river and bridge. Perfect location by ancient bridge and beach on River Douro. Too cold to swim this time, 12 degrees. Short walk to mediaeval town steeped in history. All day tapas were lovely, good price too.

Considering everything else was positive, evening meals were limited and lacking imagination.

It’s in a great location, easy access when en route from Spain to Portugal, walking distance of the town and with a lovely terrace overlooking the river. Our room had french doors with balcony, also overlooking the river, and was light and airy with soft neutral colours. Superb modern bathroom with excellent shower and good quality bed linen. We chose the half board option and the three course lunch with wine offered a good choice, great value for money and we ate very well. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. With reference to the previous reviewer, more Premier Inn standard than Travel Lodge, and they rarely provide a room with a view!

The breakfast was very basic.

The price, Food and drink was all great; good price and very tasty. The terrace was brilliant with a super view of the Tordesillas bridge and Douro river, especially when it was lit up at night. Must be great during the warmer months of the year.

The room was basic, which is absolutely fine considering the meagre price we paid. The only thing that wasn't so great (and it was only a problem because we stayed in February) was the lack of heating in the bathroom.... proper chilly after showering and it was -2° outside. Bed was very cosy though.

Excellent location just South of Tordesillas, which is a short walk away. Just cross the bridge. Simple place, clean, nice stuff, with space to park. Breakfast is extra but readily available downstairs. We had tasty tortillas.

No air conditioning, which was not a problem for us.

Breakfast is standard Spanish - toasted baguette with either jam or my favourite, tomato finely diced with a little garlic and olive oil. I have it there every time we stay. Coffee is super and there is orange or pineapple juice. There are always pastries at the bar. All the staff smile.

Very pleasant check-in and bar person! Remembered us from 2 weeks earlier. Bathroom is superb. Food cheap and very plentiful. Location easy to find and sitting on the terrace overlooking the Douro (Duero in Spanish) with a drink is very nice.

We liked everything. The room was roomy and comfortable. We had the half board package which was very good. We were looked after very well by Marina and her staff. It was like home from home. Can't wait to go back again.

Great value for money, very convenient location for our needs, Lovely view of the town, ancient bridge and the river from our room. The staff were friendly and helpful. We had delicious tapas in the evening in the lively cafe/restaurant.

A plug in the bathroom sink, (very common missing item in smaller Spanish hotels) and bedside lights.

charming hotel in an strategic spot, they have parking and a marvellous restaurant, the place was always busy cos the food is ready great. the room is clean and spacious. amazing bed.
