Arken Hotel & Art Garden Spa

It is a strange place, at first everything looks nice but with time you start noticing things. The compound is very beautifully designed, there are many games that you can play, ping pong, table football, they have the spa but I wasn't there for that. I had a great dinner at their restaurant, good food and very good wine and beer. The lady at the reception was always smiling and talking and asking if everything ok. For me the location was great I came there to be close to Volvo Museum which is just nearby. Indeed if you come there to visit the city it is a bit far. I liked it that it is more isolated. And many places to park.

Now things that you start noticing, the room was cold, no heating inside, if they give you the room with number 101-104 at the ground floor then this might happen. I was too tired to go and ask to check it. The room indead is small but with a better design can look better and lighter. The breakfast is not OK the food is tasteless and low quality ingredients and I didn't like the breakfast area, was too dark, it tried to be more discrete, but the lights were too low. Now the staff...except the lady at the reception, the other ones were not too happy to work there, you could see their grim faces, not a good feeling. Overall looks like a cheap hotel which wants to be 4 star but it is not. It does the job but don't expect anything amazing.

The hotel is very cozy and comforting with lots of art and ambience from the minute you enter the lobby. The spa has two floors of facilities and that is definitely the highlight of the stay. We went for a dance competition and were very impressed with how the whole event was handled by the hotel. The restaurant was lovely, all the food we had was impressive and really good quality.

The hotel location is a bit strange in between industrial area but some views from the spa is over the bay area and you don't notice the factory/refinery etc. You are about 20 mins out of Gothenburg so not exactly a quick trip to the city for exploring. But you come for the spa and relaxing so that shouldn't be your main goal

Very nice and comfortable rooms, wleness and spa with lots of saunas, outside pools with hot water, unfortunately we left before main breakfast-but they served mini breakfast for early flight departures, we appreciated it a lot! We relaxed, enjoyed our evening and had nice time. There are many decorations and art around the hotel, it was quite nice to see so much of it.

Maybe little far of Gothenburg center, but we knew that. There is bus service to city, if you need it.

The hotel is literally perfect - it was pleasure to spend time in the lobby, in the room or just walking around. Many thanks for SHUFL. in the hall on the 1st floor :) Nature, food, staff - everything was great, really enjoyed our stay!

Location is a bit far from the city center. You can get to the center pretty fast (30-40 minutes by bus, 15-20 minutes by car), but public transport is going to the Arken area rarely. So we had to get back to the hotel in the evening through a forest for a couple of times. Basically I can't complain because the hotel's location is close to nature, we saw hairs and even deer not far from the hotel :)

The vibes at the hotel are very nice, I could not use the spa area but from outside it looked really nice. The breakfast has a lot of options and it was very tasty.

The beds and pillows where too soft but that it a taste thing so some people might like them. I had the burguer at their restaurant for dinner and I didn't like it 😕

We enjoyed exploring the wonderful setting where the boys could scramble over rocks and follow the lovely woodland paths. We were especially impressed with our evening meal in the restaurant. We also enjoyed the many games provided like shufl, pool and table tennis. A super stay.

A bit small rooms ! As a hotel guest I could not use the outside swimming pool on a very sunny day. Hotel says it is in the SPA and needed to pay extra for the usage provided there is availability.

- Cannot help admiring your unique concept of smaller htl rooms versus large and comfy space for relaxation. - Very creative and effective utilization of walls for art exhibitions and sales. - Great coffee table books and games available for htl guests.

- SPA and dinner at the restaurant MUST be pre-booked in advance. Otherwise, no time slots available.You might be goddamn popular among the locals ;-) - No salmon for breakfast. Bread was underbaked, too light and no crust.

The hotel is very nice and clean, the service is great, the pool is very clean and the food is fresh.

The hotel is very beautiful and clean, and its service is great, but it is expensive and you must book two weeks or more before your stay.

Having completed a multiple day drive from the north to the south of Sweden, this was perfect stop prior to boarding the ferry back to the UK. Perfectly located a very short drive from the docks yet a lovely secluded location with great vistas across the harbour. The staff were very friendly and looked after me well.
