This is a cool, reasonably priced hotel, five minutes walk from the train station Brussels North and right next to the metro station Rogier. It is perfectly located both for business travellers and tourists. I have already stayed here previously and I was familiar with the location and the facilities, so I knew what to expect. The hotel is nicely decorated in the 'colonial' style, and the staff are very friendly and helpful. There was a strike at Brussels airport and my baggage was delayed for several days, but the hotel staff did everything they could to assist me. Much appreciated!

The electronic lock that opens the entrance door to the hotel sometimes malfunctions.

Room was nice and comfortable. Staff nice. Excellent location, just 3 min walk from Place Rogier and plenty of bus lines and a major subway station. Lots of restaurants within 10 min walking.

There was construction noise starting quite early in the morning due to a massive construction project next door. The breakfast was fine but nothing special. The lift didn't work and I was told by repeat guests that it hasn't been working for months. It was not a problem for me and my small suitcase, but it would be a problem for older people or those with a lot of luggage.

Location is perfect. Everything works well in the room and the wi-fi is fast. Service provided by staff was great; I had a small problem with the light and A/C that were not working and the staff resolved it immediately after I brought it to their attention. The breakfast was of good quality and in a pleasant room.

The bathroom shower does not have a light and, because of the configuration of the walls, it can be a bit dark. A few additional plugs installed in the room would be helpful as I could only find one free one on the same wall where the kettle was.

The hotel has an atmosphere of times gone by, with many photos of the neighborhood in the early 1900s. The room are good, clean, with a good bed, the internet worked well, and the breakfast was fine (except for the machine coffee). The hotel is next to Place Rogier, so well located.

As prices go up, so does the one for this hotel, and it is now starting to reach the margin of a good price-quality relation. I personally don't like the kitsch wall painting in the lobby area that much. Bring earplugs as the street can be noisy.

The hotel is cozy, rooms are clean and well-maintained, especially pleased with newly renovated bathrooms. The beds were very fluffy and comfy! The location is good, near a metro stop and the old town. There was a coffee machine that also makes hot water, as well as coffee and tea sashes for it.

The sound isolation between the rooms and the corridor is almost non-existent, that was a big disappointment. The room interior overall is a bit tired. Make sure not to walk alone from old town after dark if you are a solo traveling woman because the street leading to the hotel is a sleeping base for homeless people.

We really liked this hotel, it may not suit those who like a white and chrome box, but we felt it had bags of character. It's done in black and white art deco style, with a rattly old lift, Poirot would have felt at home. We had a large comfortable bed, a nice bath and a coffee machine. The hotel has an interesting history too, having been the German headquarters in world wars 1&2.

There were quite a few plastic flowers and plastic trees in pots which doesn't do anywhere any favours

the room was surprisingly big with a comfy king size bed and a very decent bathroom. the building and the elevator is old, so the modern room was a nice surprise. i would stay there again.

mainly the old elevator and the breakfast experience. it was too crowded and it was not the best experience. plates, cutlery and some food were sometimes not available and took a bit of time to be replaced. the variety of options is reasonable for the price. the name of the hotel should be changed to something less colonial.

The room was very clean, nice furniture, everything's pretty new, a comfortable bed. The employees are polite and attentive. Excellent breakfast, everything was available even towards the end of breakfast hours. Location is great of course, and a subway right across the street.

Only shower gel/shampoo 2 in one and a little bar of soap were available in the bathroom - no toothpaste, no supplies, no hair conditioner, no hairdryer, nothing. The only thing that disappointed me because in this price range, I expect to at least see hair conditioner/lotion/toothpaste...

The breakfast was very good and the staff nice and always willing to help. The bed was very comfortable. The hotel is very close to the city center.

The lift was broken and so it was tiring to carry my suitcase up to the 3rd floor. The room didn't have a hairdryer, but fortunately, I had taken my own.

Huge spacious room, extremely comfortable, the hotel is located in the center, 5 minutes walk from the main pedestrian zone, 2 minutes from the Rogier metro station (which is at the same time tram stations) and bus station, 10 minutes from Gare du Nord train station, extensive breakfast with lots of choices, everything was really great in the hotel, and they even had a ironing service. And the price is really more than favorable for the conditions of Brussels.

I stayed there on business, my university paid for the hotel stay in advance and of course I had to take the invoice. on leaving, the guy who was working at the time gave me a pro forma invoice, claiming he couldn’t do otherwise. for a thing that has already been paid, one must and can only get an invoice. Although I insisted on being billed, the guy started explaining me some stupid unreal things about this is normal and to send an email to the management of the hotel if my university didn’t accept pro forma invoice bla bla bla. it was only when I insisted that the manager come, that another worker intervened and immediately printed out the invoice without any problems. It is completely unclear why they needed to do something wrong when all else was exceptionally ok.
