-very old bathroom -you listen your neighbors, even when they are calm (water flush in old baths is extremely load) -no English TV -only very few hotel employees speak foreign language (spanish or english) in a 4star hotel -prevent high-season (Jan) - breakfast after 9am.

Large and spacious room. We got an upgrade room with a nice view. The room was very well equipped and quiet. We slept very well. Soundproof was good. Comfortable bed with good quality bed clothing and various pillows. Good lighting. Good air conditioning. Everything very clean. Very friendly and helpful staff. Good breakfast - served in a nice room. Strong WiFi throughout the hotel. It was a pleasure to stay at the hotel.

The staff is really helpful and polite. The hotel has an excellent location.

I didn't like the smell in the room where we stayed(moldy) and in the breakfast hall. I think that there was a party in the next room, they were really loud but fortunately my kids are solid sleepers. You have to pay for the car parking separately.

Neat, jive and clean. The food was amazing and above all the staff is superfriendly and kind.

There is no iron, no microwave and the TV is kot smart neither can be connected to my personal device to have more options than Portuguese programs.

A great property in a fantastic location of you want to explore the city. We where here for carnival and it was so well organised and efficient the hotel. The room was spacious and very comfortable. The breakfast was fabulous each day with excellent choice and freshness.

An excellent stay at Faial. The hotel is excellently decorated, it maintains a wonderful aroma (smell) throughout the entire ground floor. There is always quality English music playing in the background and friendly staff close by. More on them later. Our room was decent, spacious and excellently cleaned. The restaurant, the waiters and overall ambience is more impressive than the food itself but still, acceptable in terms of quality. The breakfast was excellent. This is my partner and I's 27th hotel in the last three month so I think that should qualify us as experienced in that sense. In this case, the extra touches of gluten free areas were the first we've seen. Most impressive were the staff and their desire to want to help in many areas. From assisting with luggage when it was raining, to wanting to help with Uber to offering us umbrellas. They were always happy and polite, amongst the best (in that regard) that I've seen.

Beautiful hotel and decoration, beautiful room, good room service, nice food, nice breakfast, nice everything. It's possible to eat breakfast, lunch and dinner at the hotel. Room service 24 hours. Very good hotel. Gentle staff.

Really nice breakfast, good location, valet parking available, comfortable rooms.

Two of the front desk staff were not on par with the nice, welcoming atmosphere all the other staff is providing to the guests.

I only spent only one night at this hotel, but I liked the large and very comfortable room, which was so very clean.

The restaurant was a bit too crowded and chaotic at breakfast time.
