Mountain Side Hotel Whistler by Executive

Despite the fact that we booked sort of "last-minute" we got a very nice room with all the amenities mentioned in the description. The view of the sunset was very nice and staff were very helpful. It seems that parking is a major problem in Whistler (and the fees charged by the hotels are stiff) so it's good to know that the public parking lot #2 is just across the street from the hotel's rear entrance and parking there is complementary from 5 pm to 8 am. You can unload/load at the front entrance for a few minutes.

The security deposit takes some time to be refunded. This could be improved.

We specifically wanted a spot with a kitchen to have snacks and organize food for long hikes. This hotel worked out really well. The hotel is also in a handy location for walking everywhere in the village and accessing the gondolas. The hotel itself is a little tired and well used, but the staff was very nice, and the price was decent. And there were very good laundry facilities which turned out to be very useful when my hiking clothes got muddy and wet on one of our hikes.

The parking garage was full and we had to park at the public lot across the street. It wasn't the end of the world, and may have worked out cheaper.

It was in the village with easy walking to shops, restaurants, both grocery stores, the upper village, and the gondolas that lead up to peak to peak. Having the kitchen was great, which made it feel more like a bachelor pad than a hotel room. I stayed when it was hot outside and the room was hot but the a/c cooled it down quickly. The staff were friendly and helpful, and willing to have a conversation.

I needed a firmer bed, however, it would probably be comfortable for others without back issues. It would be nice if some rooms had ‘firm’ beds for those with fussy backs.

We arrived early and were able to check-in early. Our room had a kitchenette and few utensils for cooking and eating, so we cooked our own breakfasts as there is a grocery store within walking distance. Parking! We were able to get a parking spot under the hotel for $30. These are not that many spaces, so our suggestion is arrive early to get one!

Unfortunately, we did not know that a HUGE cycling event was going on during our visit. This is not the hotels fault, we just didn't know, so we will have to return at a different time in order to ride the peak-to-peak gondolas and see more of the sites without dodging thousands of bicyclists and their bicycles which were EVERYWHERE!

Lovely room with kitchen facilities and a dining room table and chairs. The property is well located in the heart of the village and being out of season parking was free in the public car parks

We hadn’t realised there are two different properties and dragged all our bags into the wrong building which was where our sat nav directed us. We then had to reload the car and drive a short distance to the other building

- Staff were friendly and helpful throughout, and even though they might be short handed, they really did their best to help us where needed - Was pleasantly surprised when we saw a bottle of champagne and chocolates to congratulate us on our honeymoon :) - Room was spacious, clean and comfortable (perfect for a 2 night stay, or more) - Location was great, a short walk away from all that you might need Overall, choosing mountain side hotel was a great choice :) and thanks again to Ellen and her team for the pleasant surprise!

Loved it! It was like an apartment! Spacious good lighting 2 bathrooms and a sauna off the master bedroom! It was fantastic! And pet friendly. Easily spend a few nights with friends in this hotel. I will be back again.

Everything was fantastic I had no issues or complaints. My truck was a little big for the underground and wouldn't have fit of I didn't have stock tires on so Ford super duty owners watch out for that. Bit they were very accommodating

Location of the hotel is really good. Very close to the lifts and walking distance to all restaurants/shops. The room was a good size (loft room). The bed was comfortable. 2 bathrooms is really good to have. Pool & hottub were great to enjoy after a day of skiing.

The dining table layout juts out into the kitchen area so it's a bit narrow between the fridge and the closet/dining table area. The upstairs TV was not working (someone had unplugged it) so I had to climb on top of the rail/banister to plug it in. Parking is $30/night which is higher than other centrally located hotels.

We loved the proximity to both Blackcomb and Whistler gondolas. We also loved the layout of the room and the personal sauna. Despite being at nearly 100% capacity the hot tub was never overcrowded and the very warm pool temperature made it a great second option for people who didn't want to be in as confined a space.

Our kitchenette wasn't as well stocked/supplied as the Shell Holidays side of the building. We didn't have any dish cloths, dish towels or paper towel and weren't supplied with enough caffinated coffee for the four people the room sleeps. This may have been an oversight by cleaners rather than the baseline for these rooms though as I know all the resorts in Whistler have been short-staffed due to the pandemic.

Great experience overall, the room was very comfortable and had a really nicely equipped kitchenette. SUPER central location, easy to park my car, even nice to have Joe Fortes in the building for a lovely meal. Looked like really nice pool/hot tub though unfortunately I didn’t have time to use them. For Whistler, pretty great value!

The check in was a little confusing with the two buildings but didn’t pose a major problem in the end. A bit of wear and tear on the suite in the kitchen, bathroom, etc but again, nothing major.
