Rosemount Inn

Chef Julie made me amazing gluten-free pancakes with fresh berries. The coffee was also PERFECT. I felt safe and cared for. Every staff member was courteous and quick. The convenient text service to make requests was much appreciated. Espresso machines in the room! Fluffy soft robes. Amazing water pressure. Beautiful renovation on the house while still preserving the quaint feel of staying in an older mansion. The garden was magical at dusk, you can smell the flowers and see dozens of lightening bugs. Left the balcony door open at night to hear the birds in the morning. Very comfortable bed and sheets. I had the room that went to the tower - what a special surprise. Thank you, Rosemont!

Breakfast was simple but met our needs to start the day. The location couldn't be beat. We were within walking distance to everything we wanted to see and do.

We were given the carriage house separate from the main house, which was fine, but the skylight directly above the bed did not have any blinds so we were woken up early with the bright sunlight every day. The air conditioning was very noisy so it was difficult to fall asleep, and then to be woken up so early by the light coming through the skylight was not the best for feeling refreshed to start the day. Not sure if there was another room above us but people were arguing and stomping around above/next to us until 3 in the morning. Again, did not get a good night's sleep as a result.

- Strange Customer Service everything via sms - If you met people they were friendly but you barely did - room was very warm - Strange situation at the breakfast - there is only one room with a table but of more guests are there is Not enough space / Would be Great to have some tables outside in the garden or a different seating concept - Food was delicious but not much to choose from (veg. options etc.)

We had a lovely one night stay at this quaint property . It’s all about the details .. when we arrived fresh baked cookies were available for us . Bubbly and chocolates in our refrigerator . Our spacious suite reminded us of stays in Europe . Lovely appointed and serene room . Our concierge staff most accommodating and prompt in responding to a request . Highly recommend !

charming, quirky, and unique while still being comfortable and well-equipped. I like older, non-corporate lodging but sometimes they’re not the easiest places. Rosemount is a pretty perfect blend of vintage charm and modern convenience.

The only problem—and it’s not a big issue— is that parking is very limited. Off street parking is a block away. Oh yes, the ambient music in the common areas. It’s not offensive but seems out of character and gets quite tedious. I did miss having more contact with the owners/managers. I would have enjoyed learning more about the inn and about Kingston from them. They make it easy to check in and out and to contact them about any problems, but there’s not much opportunity for casual conversation.

It’s a beautiful, 1850’s Victorian home in the heart of Kingston's historic area, close to the university, that has been stylishly renovated and updated. Service is exceptional. The box breakfast every morning is very tasty and plentiful with lots to indulge in. Beds are extremely comfortable.

Honestly, nothing.

Everything about here was exceptional. 1 minute walk from the bus stop for the train station, near to the uni and close to main street for shops/food. Every facility needed was provided. All aspects of check-in were well communicated by text in advance. Plenty of towels, a great shower and a very comfortable bed. I only went into the main house once and the communal area was beautifully decorated and cosy. But the staff are the true highlight - Natasha was very prompt in responding to a couple of queries I had ahead of arriving and Michelle went above and beyond in preparing a delicious breakfast box every morning as I would have otherwise missed breakfast due to my work commitments while in town. Everything was so personal about this place and a truly wonderful experience. I have recommended here to my colleagues and will be staying here when I am back in town in the future.

Good location, beautiful B&B. Home-made cookies on arrival, some rose wine, and tasty chocolate. Easy and fast check in. Extremely clean, comfy bed. Breakfast also great - good selection of fruit, baked stuff and breakfast bun. Coffee could be better for this level of detail. Easy check out. Nice decoration. Good value compared to other worse options in town!

Coffee during breakfast could be better - rather than a big watered down black coffee, suggest you give options such as french press or expresso. Not a huge deal, but just icing on the cake.

The breakfast was very good. The building majestic. We were close to our activities. The one staff we saw in the morning was very welcoming.

The room was so dark it made the mood really somber. The few lamps or night lights were not soothing to the eyes. Just lighting up the colour of the room would be a great start….and you can’t say the colour reflects the era of the building. They could announce that their rooms have no tv before you finish your booking!

The breakfast even though limited was excellent and very tasty, The waitress was very obliging. The Hotel was a very quirky, homely and cosy feel. Location was good if you like a short walk around the area. Oh and don't forget the cookies provided late afternoon, very scrummy!

Windows couldn't be opened for fresh air which we like to have and the second day of our stay they hadn't cleaned and made up the room and replenished the coffee items and fresh towels etc.
